He…read moreclearly explained my legal options, came across as warm and earnest, and made me feel comfortable retaining the firm. Unfortunately, once my case began, serious organizational and communication issues emerged. Although the complaint itself was well written, it was filed with the wrong court and contained an incorrect address. I was never informed of this mistake and had to discover it on my own. Correcting the issue required a change of venue, which cost me significant time and money for an error that was not mine. Communication throughout the case was inconsistent. At times, staff were responsive and reassuring; at other times, follow-up emails went unanswered and seemed to fall through the cracks. When I informed the firm that the opposing party was making threatening communications, my concerns did not appear to be taken seriously. After deciding to retain new counsel, I was surprised by how aggressively this firm interacted with my new attorney during the transition. Even more concerning, when my case files were transferred, I was mistakenly sent documents belonging to a different client. This raised serious concerns about their internal controls and confidentiality practices. I was also charged approximately $600 for work the firm claimed had been completed but which was never included in the file transfer. When I requested a refund, I was told the work had been done and that I would need to absorb the cost, despite having to pay my new attorney to redo it. Overall, this firm's lack of organization and efficiency ended up costing me more time, money, and stress than necessary. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend shopping around for other firms, even if they are located outside the Pasadena area.

At the beginning, the consultation sounded professional and reassuring. However, as the case progressed, communication became increasingly frustrating. The original attorney and translator who first handled our case both left the firm within about a year, and the new team that took over seemed unfamiliar with the details of our situation and our expectations. We often felt we had to repeatedly explain the case from the beginning. One of our biggest concerns was billing transparency. We were surprised to see significant charges for tasks that appeared very basic, including researching public information, locating addresses, or searching online profiles. We understand legal work involves preparation behind the scenes, but many billable entries felt excessive relative to the actual progress of the case. Another frustrating issue was the lack of meaningful updates. Long periods would pass with little communication, while billing continued regularly. From a client perspective, it often felt like more effort was being spent generating billable hours than actively moving the case toward resolution. We also noticed a major difference between the level of attention given before signing the contract and the level of responsiveness afterward. Ironically, the detailed public response to our review felt more organized and thorough than much of the communication we experienced during representation. We understand litigation is difficult and no law firm can guarantee outcomes. This review reflects only our personal experience as clients. We simply hope future clients ask detailed questions about staffing continuity, billing practices, communication expectations, and case management before retaining this firm.

I reached out to him on day one, and by day three he had already provided me with the required response and letter to address my situation. I had a dealership that had defrauded me and was attempting to ignore my emails, phone calls, and communication. I contacted Counselor Kim and explained my situation over the phone. As stated earlier, within a few days, he had already drafted the demand letter and sent it to the dealership. Within approximately a week and a half, the dealership responded and offered to resolve with a full refund and a formal apology. Before emailing me, I know they reached out to Counselor Kim and had a telephone conversation in which he was able to arbitrate the refund without any further issues or involvement on my end. I highly recommend Counselor Kim and his law firm for these particular issues and others that I know he specializes in. I may also use him to draft my living trust, as I know he has integrity and has my best interests in mind.

From our initial phone call to the end of the dispute, Jae was knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. He took the time to understand the details of my situation, explained the available courses of action, and provided clear, detailed guidance throughout the process. Most importantly, Jae helped me achieve the exact outcome I was seeking. After months of back-and-forth with my landlord, who would not budge on the credit I was requesting, his involvement helped bring the matter to a resolution without further pushback. I ultimately received the full rent credit I had been seeking--four times the amount of my landlord's initial offer. I genuinely believe I would still be disputing the issue with my landlord today had I not worked with him. If you're looking for an attorney who is professional, thorough, and effective in landlord-tenant matters, I would highly recommend working with Jae Kim.

The volunteer election inspector is a member who is not a "licensed attorney" so is it a big darn deal that missing a very small minor information would invalidate the whole election? Kelly expects all inspector to be at his level in order to deem qualified to do the election correctly. What a joke! Per CA Civil code 5105, a member can qualify to serve as the independent inspector and there is no requirement that the volunteer inspector needs to be very specific as long as the announcement for election result certificate is clear that this is for the election of new board of directors. There are no mandatory requirements in any section of Civil Code 5103 regarding very specific detailed language as long as it is clear that election timelines are followed, nomination forms are correctly distributed and election results are confirmed and if less than 5 vacant seats available, the 4 candidates are elected by acclamation automatically. It is no brainer that less than 5 candidates do not need to do secret ballots. Kelly makes a big darn deal about missing a minor information, and he did not even provide any details as to what "specific language requirements" must be provided to the members and vaguely stated that the election by acclamation was done incorrectly. This is not a good advice without thorough detailed explanation and really not helping the association. Funny that he let a paid election inspector to pass when they didnt even do the election properly. More like selective favoritism. His advices are vague. Do not hire this attorney for his very poor advices, which are not well versed at all.
