Based on what others described, I expected a firm that would be attentive, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping me finally create my trust to protect myself and my family. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like the reviews made it seem. First, for the amount this firm generally charges to create a trust, I truly expected more guidance and support, especially when it came to helping with the administration of my mom's trust so that I could move forward with creating my own trust and avoid any legal issues down the line. Instead, after the initial phone interview, I was left feeling like I had to figure out much of it on my own and actually felt more confused than before. The most disappointing part was the lack of real connection and communication. I never felt like the attorney truly listened to my concerns or made a real effort to understand what I was trying to accomplish. Toward the end of the call, it honestly started to feel like I was wasting his time because I saw no genuine effort or willingness to actually help. I also expected at least some kind of follow-up or check-in a few days after the initial call to help build trust and a relationship, but that never occurred. Ultimately, this was my personal experience, and yours may vary. In the end, this firm simply was not the right fit for me, so I'll continue my search and look elsewhere.

Stay away if you have a real estate matter. Oh - and he also still owes me a refund of my paid retainer money . . . I asked 4 times, but no refund (breach of contract - beware!)

This review is based on my consultation with Steven Boortz today. San Gabriel Valley Attorney…read moreReferral Service set up the appt on my behalf and a $40 was charged for a half hour consult. Not only I got much more than I asked for during my visit, the fact that Steven even took a humane/moral approach examining the ultimate win I seek, I was very impressed since that's beyond his duty as an attorney. He could have easily given his advice, sell his services and promises a 90% chance of winning, however, he did not do that, nor did he focused on a strategy of demolishing the other party for my case. Instead, he gave me the few scenarios and told me a victory in court could potentially open doors for more bad news against my wish since the opposing party has been a long time bully. The consult was over an hour or maybe 90 min in total, he spoke with me as a rational person evaluating my moral goals against my legal goals, and further analyzed for me how the court system see things and how lies can play into truth in a way that could potentially completely have truth rewritten. It's unfortunate that some techniques and approaches can be so powerful through manipulating facts and/or flat out lies by either adding up the numbers or just convincing speech without any evidence. This was a great experience for me and I now have a lot to think about. I think ultimately there's both likability and credibility in court based on performance even if all the facts are all laid out and may seem obvious to the naked eyes. Discrediting evidence through total speculations alone are allowed to have weight in court, that particular fact is quite baffling to me. I did not realize people can lie to the bones without any proofs and still be considered valid given the right angle or circumstances. Something new everyday. Steven was very perceptive, well mannered as well as kind in sharing all these info with me, he appears to be both a professional as well as a good person during my visit. His office is located at a very charming and prestigious neighborhood in South Pasadena with a rustic cafe and boutique hair salon right downstairs and literally in front of a beautiful park. A bit of Abbot Kinney meets old town village type feel. It was a very pleasant experience. At this point, he is not convinced that his involvement could be helpful to me in my particular case but still welcomed me to contact him for further questions. Thumbs up :)

At the beginning, the consultation sounded professional and reassuring. However, as the case progressed, communication became increasingly frustrating. The original attorney and translator who first handled our case both left the firm within about a year, and the new team that took over seemed unfamiliar with the details of our situation and our expectations. We often felt we had to repeatedly explain the case from the beginning. One of our biggest concerns was billing transparency. We were surprised to see significant charges for tasks that appeared very basic, including researching public information, locating addresses, or searching online profiles. We understand legal work involves preparation behind the scenes, but many billable entries felt excessive relative to the actual progress of the case. Another frustrating issue was the lack of meaningful updates. Long periods would pass with little communication, while billing continued regularly. From a client perspective, it often felt like more effort was being spent generating billable hours than actively moving the case toward resolution. We also noticed a major difference between the level of attention given before signing the contract and the level of responsiveness afterward. Ironically, the detailed public response to our review felt more organized and thorough than much of the communication we experienced during representation. We understand litigation is difficult and no law firm can guarantee outcomes. This review reflects only our personal experience as clients. We simply hope future clients ask detailed questions about staffing continuity, billing practices, communication expectations, and case management before retaining this firm.

However, Michael and his team took care of me and did everything they could to make my experience less stressful. They scheduled all my doctor's appointments for check ups and my appointments for rehab. Followed up with continuing care and physical therapy for over a year. They did all that they could so that I solely could focus on my recovery. But It's currently 2026, so why am I writing this now? Let me explain. A year after my settlement was completed, I was getting mysterious calls for collections for my ambulance ride. However, the bill was never sent to me to verify the debt. Michael assured to me that the paperwork they sent was not the right paperwork to verify. But me being skeptical was still afraid and overly cautious because I'm a person who pays all his debts, and didn't want my credit score affected. So Michael suggested that he can hold some of the settlement money as a "just in case" fund until the statutes of limitations expire. I think I can say that for any normal person, this would also seem to be a kind of sticky situation to take on as an alternative, right? Because this agreement requires trust. But in the end his team wrote a contract and I agreed and signed to hold the money. Now to why I'm writing this now; it has been years past since the settlement. To the point where I forgot the statute of limitations timeline. I was contacted by Michael late December of 2025 to schedule an appointment first week after the new year. It was our final appointment and I just received the last portion of my settlement that I forgot about! So trust was definitely earned and received. Excellent customer service.

I honestly expected to receive only a small amount, but they helped me get a settlement that was way more than I imagined. I'm so thankful for all their help and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a team that truly cares about their clients.
