I do not recommend this Dr. You cannot be your own advocate. Not only does he talk rudely to you (very arrogant),but he will discuss ALL of your private information in front of other clients (it's how his office is set up). Why even speak in a medical room if THAT is going to happen. If you question why all the blood work (nearly every three months), he will not explain and just have his staff (his wife) call you do inform you that this Dr. has cut you from the practice. Blood work every three months to tell me I need to take vitamins which, by the way, he sells. And will sell you expired vitamins but tell you they are okay to take. Also, if you have any physical concerns he will not look at it directly. Has ZERO interest. He will simply suggest a local whatever Dr. No referral. You are given a business card to call said other Dr. (This was a simple foot issue which did not require said other Dr. - specialist - but ended up having to WAIT over a month to get into other Dr. - specialist who told me I could have had Dr. Lozanov deal with it).

During my last check-up, it was determined that I needed a root canal on the #30 molar, and I was given a choice of Orest M Balytsky, DMD, in Petaluma (who retired some time ago), and a married endodontic couple in Santa Rosa (forgot their names). I called the Petaluma one to get a rough estimate and was quoted $2906. So I called Santa Rosa and was quoted $3405. Both seemed a little high to me and when I mentioned it to two friends, they agreed. I then chatted with my neighbor, and she said that her husband and daughter went to Dr. Mark Roper on Cypress, and they were very pleased with him, and she suggested I call. THAT WAS THE BEST DECISION I COULD'VE MADE! The quote from Beverly, the receptionist, was almost $500 cheaper than Dr. Balytsky, and almost $800 cheaper than the Santa Rosa one. I made an appointment and immediately felt confident with Dr. Ropper, and his dental tech, Amy, and when he checked my tooth, he said I didn't need the scan -- saving me $150 right there!!! To make a long story short, I just got home and could've been happier -- not just the reasonable cost (total $2490) but the professional treatment and overall experience. (2 weeks after my root canal, I learned from another friend how happy he was with Dr. Roper.) As Beverly explained, Dr. Roper does not have multiple partners or office locations and doesn't have a huge staff -- just Amy and Beverly. I can't recommend Dr. Mark Roper and I hope my dentist, Dr. Navid, takes note of my 5-star experience/rating, and recommends her other patients to this excellent practice. She owes it to her patients -- and not just for cost reasons.

I had seen two other dr's for a severe ear infection…read more I was given medicine and shots, that didn't work and then my ear got to the point that I was eating tylenol and motrin like it was popcorn and was still in tremendous pain. I called his office and they saw me SAME DAY! Not only that, he gave me some meds in my ears etc and I left his office pain free and stopped taking all my pain meds, literally 2hrs after I left! Yes he is "old school" (no fancy office, digital tv's permeating everywhere, bedside manner etc) but I like a dr that cuts straight to the chase and tells you exactly what is going on. The receptionists were extremly friendly and the dr was as well. My whole family is in the medical field and I have found that the "old school" dr's are the best. A fancy waiting room and fancy electronic devices does not necessarily equate to a great dr.

Janet took all x-rays and assisted Dr. Talebi, who did the laser treatment. They explained the procedure throughout and I felt supported, safe and well cared for the whole time. Apparently my root canals were very calcified as she had to work on me for quite a while, but she got it done explaining everything along the way. She must be tired at the end of the day as it is a pretty physical effort on her part. If I ever need another one, which I hope I don't, I'd see her again. It's nice not to have a toothache.

Now I have to see him again after being away, since my problem has unfortunately returned. Is there a wait to see him? Yes. Why the wait? Because he is that good. I had seen a half dozen doctors before I went to him (years ago for the first time) and finally received the correct treatment. A doc that's worth the wait to get A+ treatment.
