"Clean as a whistle" Although I am diligent about brushing…read moreand flossing, after some months I start to get some tartar buildup along the gumlines where there is some natural recession just due to aging. So it's always nice to get my periodic cleaning -get "detailed"- at AFD, and to have that smooth, clean feel restored -as well as the reassurance that I'm heading off problems before they can develop.

I initially went to see Dr Lauren on an emergency basis when a tooth broke (under a crown). I wanted to write up this review bc my experience was as positive as it could be considering the circumstances. - I had a very short wait both visits. - Dr Lauren and her staff were very patient and sensitive to my dental anxiety. - Dr Lauren and her staff dealt with (or helped deal with) multiple issues with my insurance, helping me find and schedule an appointment with an oral surgeon. - Dr Lauren proposed a reasonable treatment plan - I didn't feel like I was being up-sold, or that unnecessary treatments were suggested. Note: I am not the easiest patient; I've had a lot of procedures with minimal/no anesthesia because local anesthesia doesn't work well on me. I've also had a lot of issues related to overcrowding (21 teeth extracted, including baby teeth). I had already been to two different dentists in Lake City that were not a fit. I am very grateful to have found Dr. Lauren.

I am sharing my experience at Aspen Dental on Newberry Road and Dr. Souren Hajjar so others can…read moremake an informed decision before seeking care there. Due to my insurance, my options for wisdom tooth removal were limited, but had I known what this experience would be like, I would have chosen differently. I arrived on 03/31 for the removal of four fully erupted wisdom teeth. Before the procedure, I clearly informed both the assistant and the dentist that I had previously experienced heightened anxiety after receiving a high dose of nitrous oxide during a non-dental procedure. I explained that I was unsure whether I would have a similar reaction but wanted them to be aware. While I was understandably a bit apprehensive about my first tooth extraction, I have never had dental anxiety and did not report it at any point during this visit. I have undergone multiple dental procedures, including root canals with local anesthesia, without complications or anxiety-related issues. However, I later discovered that the dental assistant documented in my procedure notes that I reported "severe dental anxiety," which is completely false and appears to have been added after the fact. I was told I would receive a "low dose" of nitrous oxide (50%). Within about a minute, several local anesthetic injections were administered in rapid succession, and extractions began almost immediately, with minimal communication. I was instructed to alert them only if I felt "sharp" pain; any other discomfort was considered normal. Despite significant pain, but not the "sharp" pain described, I tried to endure it. The procedure was performed at an extremely fast pace. I was not adequately numb for much of it and felt pain during multiple extractions. When I began to panic due to the speed and intensity, the dentist stopped briefly for less than 30 seconds and, almost annoyed, mentioned that if I was going to react this way, I could return another day for full sedation. This was after one tooth had already been extracted and while I was still under nitrous oxide. I did not want to prolong my recovery or pain, leaving me with little practical choice but to continue. Dr. Hajjar did not use this pause to make any adjustments or increase pain management. This was the only time during the whole procedure I was asked if I wanted to stop, although later in the medical record and through verbal communication, they falsely stated they asked me multiple times during the procedure. The entire procedure was completed in approximately 10 minutes and 34 seconds. I know this specifically, because the dental assistant immediately commented proudly on the speed, referencing a timer they had set, as if completing the procedure as quickly as possible was the priority. Dr. Hajjar left barely saying a few words. When I questioned the assistant about the rushed pace, I was told the doctor had other patients to attend to. After standing up, I noticed the clinical environment appeared disorganized and unclean, with tools, paperwork, and visible grime on surfaces. From the time that I walked in at my appointment time to the time I was shown to the front door to leave still in an obvious state of distress, I was in the office for less than 45 minutes. Shocked at how rapidly I was discharged and my emotional state, a family member spoke with the team on my behalf immediately after, as I was still shaken to advocate for myself. The front desk was unaware I had even been discharged when my family member went inside. The receptionist had told them they expected me to be finished in 1-2 hours. When concerns were raised directly with Dr. Hajjar, they were dismissed with comments such as, "not everyone handles procedures well." No acknowledgment of the issues or indication of concern was offered. Later, when I followed up personally, I received a similar response. After reviewing my records, I also identified multiple discrepancies in the documentation of my visit. At no point during this experience was I asked if I was okay or shown any empathy. I understood there would likely be discomfort, but at minimum, I expected communication, appropriate pain management, basic bedside manner, and to be treated with a standard level of care and respect. Instead, I felt treated as a task to be completed rather than as a human being. This experience has had a lasting impact, and I strongly encourage others to carefully consider their options before seeking care with this provider.

I had a dental emergency (a crown that fell off after only 4.5 years) and my regular dentist of the past five years couldn't fit me in or even help find an appointment within a week. To say I was in pain and losing hope would be an understatement. After my seventh call searching for an emergency dentist, I reached Oreana at Radiant, and everything changed. She was incredibly kind and got me in within an hour. When I arrived, the front office staff, Faith and Abby, were so welcoming and had me registered quickly. I was brought back almost immediately by my hygienist, Natalie, who was beyond compassionate and attentive to my pain and sensitivity. Then Dr. Williams stepped in and truly restored my faith; not just fixing my crown, but showing what exceptional care and service should look like. Within an hour, I was examined and my crown was repaired. Absolutely amazing. The moral of this experience: when one office falls short, don't lose hope. Sometimes you're led to a team like Radiant that truly values patient care and customer service. I am beyond grateful for how they handled my emergency, and they've earned our family's business moving forward. Thank you Radiant Team!

By law a vendor can charge up to 4%, but they are supposed to tell you up front and they never did. I found out after I paid it. 2) They also sell clear aligners, which should be an orthodontic procedure for many reasons. I eventually switched to braces with a nearby orthodontist. 3) They also charge $50 per hour cancellation fee. So if they think your procedure would have taken 2 hours, that would be a $200 cancellation fee charged to your credit card on file.

Scheduled for surgery, total time for the consult was probably less than 5 minutes. His staff more than makes up for his hastiness. Robin particularly was very pleasant and courteous. She and the other staff were very warm and accommodating. They put me under general and I was out in no time, which was good for me since I usually get nervous with these things. (They did a GREAT job with the IV). When I came out I was very surprised that I was in very little pain. The procedure went much better than I could have anticipated. I was back to eating in 1.5 days and off pain meds in the same amount of time. I highly recommend following the post op instructions very carefully. Graper institute comes highly recommended for wisdom teeth extractions. Shout out to my ride.

Two major complaints about this dental office though: 1) My appointment time was 8:45am. I was in the waiting room for OVER THREE HOURS. 2) Robin was seriously unprofessional and was incredibly standoffish. First, she never sent my scripts over to my pharmacy which was an issue since I was supposed to start the oral rinse and antibiotic three days prior to surgery. (Wondering if maybe my oral bacteria count would be lower now if this wasn't the case or my recovery would be easier???) Then, when I went in for my follow up, I was being prodded at with equipment and apparently spit a little water up during the water pic part and Robin literally said "disgusting". She then proceeded to tell me how difficult I was under the anesthesia and how I kept moving around. First of all, it's not like I was consciously trying to inconvenience anyone... I was asleep. Second, I didn't ask so these impertinent comments made absolutely no difference towards my recovery instructions which was the reason for my appointment. This really hurt my feelings since I had expressed how nervous I was about anesthesia and was proud of myself for being fairly normal after. Bf said I just kept thanking everyone after. These comments have made me very reluctant to come back for the sake of being judged in a medical setting. Horrible bed side manners.
