Foster. Our ragtag racing team included Bruce and Trudy's sons, Rob and Greg + a rotating volunteer from our home church, Trinity Presbyterian Church in Denton. Apparently, from certain times of the year, the sailing vessels known as Valiant Yachts produces various forms of sailing vessels, which are often shipped to every place in the world. I worked on the foredeck, raising the colorful and elegant spinnakers for sailing quite fast pointing down wind. I love the local scene of rural communities in the north Texas and Oklahoma region and the culture of our farmers and ranchers who cultivate their cash crops and send to the local markets in Denton, Dallas, Fort Worth and mid-cities. They have really nice nearby cabins along the peninsula where we stayed. There's a lot to do for the entire family, trail running, hiking, fishing etc. Plus it is a short drive up north offering the "we are not in DFW" vibe. It is worth checking out for sure!

No specific parking area, just pull off the road and park next to the table you want to use. No bathroom facilities, so know that. Can also be used as a walking area, but it will be shared with vehicle traffic, so watch for that. Next to Frontier Village and Texoma Livestock Expo.

This dam holds back the water of the Red River which separates Oklahoma from Texas. It's a huge beautiful lake and in years that see plenty of rainfall,water levels are high. I've had some very scary experiences around here and I'm not sure why this town seems to keep giving me them but I don't like it so much.

The City of Denison is the best place in this part of the world to buy lots of alcohol. They sell lots of it! There's so many liquor stores here for a good reason. The towns around Denison are all dry, and Oklahoma, which is right across the Red River has weird, arcane rules about buying full-strength beer and liquor. The City of Denison, Texas comes to the rescue to make sure that all of North Texas isn't dry. This shiny bastion in the Bible Belt is a good place to stock up. I think it's a shame that other cities make their residents come and spend their money in the next town over, depriving towns like Sherman from sales and liquor taxes, and jobs. Denison is also the birthplace of President Dwight D. Eisenhower! I Like Ike!
