They went absolutely crazy when I told them we tried to fill up but weren't sure because the gas attendant said the fuel gage was broken. They said it had gas in the other tank. I said that no one told us there was another tank and no one told us not to fill up. She got in my face saying I was going to be buying her boat. Her husband then screamed at me and used the F word in front of my 3 kids, and 3 other families kids. These people should be in a mental facility, not owning a boat renting service.

Lake of the Arbuckles, The Point Swimming area was a great place to kayak. We could put the kayaks on the shore and swim or go out into the coves surrounding The Point. The delivery people were super helpful and very nice, giving suggestions of things we might want to see around town and around the lake. We will rent from Red's Kayaks again!

First, working with Steve was so easy and relaxed! As you can imagine, coordinating a kayak trip with Texas weather and multiple involved Girl Scouts posed a bit of a logistical nightmare but Steve was understanding all along the way! He was understanding when we dropped a few girls and added one back on and when weather canceled us the first few times he was very clear and quick with the communication. Second, Steve was incredibly informative and patient with our Girl Scouts. This was a group of girls ages 11-15 but most of our group fell into the 11-12 year old range. He kept the girls on task and made sure they were watching at the important parts without coming across as too tough. The girls LOVED the experience and I highly recommend Steve and Discover Kayak to Girl Scouts and new kayakers alike. Thanks again Steve!

Last weekend I entrusted him to teach two dear friends who ARE NOT great swimmers. One had had a hip replacement. He was so patient and accommodating. He eased their fears, taught them and they already are begging to go back out. Thank you, Steve, for helping me introduce my friends to the world of kayaking. They failed to let us know using the tube,that was already tied to the back of one the boats, was a $35 rental. When we noticed the charge and brought it to their attention that it was rather gimmicky to do such a thing, the lady seemed appalled that we would say that. Ask the owners what is an additional charge up front. Also, we had a large group to accommodate so getting everyone there by the time of our reservation was impossible. The owners started the time anyways. It would be one thing if there were other reservations, but we reserved these boats for an off season time. Have some decency. Some "southern hospitality" these people have... Avoid if possible.

The parking is well thought out, there are trash cans for your trash, there's a rail to help you get your kayak down the slope, and there is even a rope swing for swimming! My kids had a blast with that. The only thing I took a star away for was the lack of a place to poop. A port-a-potty out there would be amazing for the people who come down to picnic, take photos, and just swim in the general area. Other than that, I highly, highly recommend this place! We're taking a bunch of friends out again this weekend to kayak, we liked it so much.

I was honestly a bit skeptical and was worried I might tip over and catch some sort of horrible disease from the Trinity, but honestly it was a a great time and I had alot of fun. I went out in a kayak both times (they apparently offer canoes as well) and I will say that I think I enjoyed the double over the single but that's probably more a personal preference. The trip itself was really enjoyable. I saw quite a bit of wildlife both times and it was quite relaxing floating down the river. The paddling wasn't difficult at all but I did get some not-so-fun blisters...you may want to consider some fingerless gloves (like you would wear for lifting) if you're sensitive to that kind of thing. Sure it's not cheap, but they handle any shuttling (taking you to the launch site or picking you up) and for a 2-3 hour "adventure" it's more than reasonable. Staff was super friendly both times I was there and I definitely had no issues there even with the reservation I made online. Really a great setup and a unique experience that you wouldn't expect in the middle of DFW. I'll definitely be back!

They gave us clear instructions of what to do, gave us life jackets and helped us in and out of the water. Whenever we got back- I told Libby how my shorts were wet from getting in the kayak (there was left over water in the kayak) and she ran and got me a towel and allowed me to take it home ! The sweetest !! They have a little parking lot on both sides of the rental area so it's easy in and out (free parking). In terms of renting the kayaks- they offer 10% off for all students, teachers and military. For the hour it was only $20. I felt like it was a fun nature activity. I also love that a small portion of their funds go back to support local Dallas communities and parks. Can't wait to go back and do it again!

The parking is public and we didn't have any issues for our three cars. The location was very easy to find; right next to the boat ramp. The staff was inviting and helpful. We signed our waivers, hopped in, and James shoved us off to leave us up to our own adventure. Will definitely do it again! Please note it is credit card only. Dogs are allowed but must have a life jacket. Also, if it is too windy they have to shut down operations--about 25 mph, so it may be best to check conditions or call in advance.
