The Rv Park is extremely clean with all the amenities anyone could ever ask for and it even has a couple of storm shelters on site. One thing that really stands out about Riverview is that it indeed has a river front view!! If you walk toward the back of the property you will find a fishing dock right up against the Red River with beautiful sights and sunrises and sunsets. The other thing I really loved about Riverview was the people also living full time in their Rv's. I made so many friends while I was there and there were often times many gatherings and outdoor barbeques to bring everyone together. They also have a store where you get all of your basic necessities which can be a little pricey but it's worth the convenience. Charlene and her staff were friendly and always willing to help with whatever I needed while I was there, too. The have huge spaces and all of them are concrete which makes it really nice for being outside and keeping your space clean. Along with all of that, they have some cabins that are available to rent as well as a nice community center where you can host family reunions and so on. If you're reading this and looking for a great place to stay full time, a few weeks or even a weekend, this place will suit your needs. Pro Tip: If you're looking to find Riverview, it can be tricky. Just remember Exit 1. Once you exit on the opposite side of the highway (75) you will circle back around over the bridge and find yourself going through a very small 'neighborhood' onto the gate that is very well marked once you turn left past the homes. Had to add buying more to the growing RV needs list. The park was well maintained. The trailheads have limited parking. We drove around until we found one on trail 9. There are 14 or more trails and they seem to create a loop. We hiked 3 miles and called it a day. The trails sometimes needed better signage. I liked the vast amount of picnic areas. This park is well off the main steers creating a quiet place to enjoy. I mean, I heard speed boats during our hike, but that didn't spoil my solitude.

They have really nice nearby cabins along the peninsula where we stayed. (smile) Overall, it was a great experience and I did catch some buffalo fish. My neighbors caught a nice channel catfish using cut bait.

We love this state park. Very quiet and peaceful with nice hiking trails. We fell in love with the…read morepig and goat at the "petting zoo". However, we were VERY disappointed in two things: 1) The cabins are old and unkept. We had a hole in the wall near the front door and daylight showing under the front door. The entire cabin was filled with ants. They were on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Every hour I was running around squashing ants. We had to hang everything on hooks/hangers or leave it in the car. Water leaked from underneath the tile in front of the shower. The staff said the State has the money to renovate, but they keep delaying it. So sad to lose customers because they won't spend the money to update it. 2) The pet fee is $40 per day per pet. We had 2 dogs totaling 22 pounds. There was NO extra work on behalf of the staff after we left. Most place charge a deposit that is refundable if there is no damage. They should review their pet policy and consider reducing or eliminating the fee and instead having a refundable deposit. With $80/night for the dogs and $110+ for the cabin, we could have stayed in a nice VRBO home with a fenced backyard and without bugs.

It's been an Amazing place, pecans all over, quite, RV's are kept clean and the people tend to stay to themselves. Owner has provided a great location and ample of space for the Full timers. Wasn't much water in the spring but the creek was flowing with a heavy smell of sulpher. Also stopped by the Buson viewing area but did not see any. Not sure how many are left here. We drove around thru the park nd seen a deer eating along the road. Wasn't scared at all. There are several swimming holes and small waterfall/rapids areas with plenty of camping spots. There were a lot of folks out and camping. The park is about 10k acres sitting in the start of the Arbuckle Mountains. Great day trip.

You're a bit at the mercy of whoever is there. A lot of people were there for the day backed up to a covered spot and blaring music. There was a depressing amount of trash around. The castles are neat and after doing some web searching we found some history about them (not offered by the park itself which is odd). Some areas feel pretty unsafe. The store just sells towels, $2 water shoes for $20 and life vests. No swimming allowed today (it's still winter and because of flooding) but a lot of people were in various areas of the river. The bathrooms were spread around the upper areas and I think mostly for campers and cabin folks. No one is policing anything though. The ports potties were rank.
