Rude owner. I was lost as I was new in that area. The owner started to yell at me right after she saw me. If my becoming late was affecting her then she could mention about that politely so that I can reschedule it. She started to act nice when it was the time for me to leave for tip. And the worst part is, she kept calling while I was driving and she was yelling why did I go that far, why I am not using GPS ? Like who does that when someone is already lost and driving ! Terrible Service. She tried to up sale as soon as I walked in the door and when I didn't buy more, she talked on phone while doing facial. She hit me with the dermabrasion wand several times during treatment which may have lastedb15 minutes. Listen out there I as well had a poor experience where i was left with a broken spider vein capillary on my left cheekbone. Before and after pics available. Denise also sold me up to a different facial. I wanted Microdermabrasion with Oxygen. She convinced me to pay $50 for extraction and mask. I never was provided with the Oxygen part, instead she did laser w/o my consent and broke a capillary. She applied a very hot high frequency machine on my skin nearly burnt my chin too rough with both this machine and microdermabrasion. If I need Laser i go to my Dermotologist. Be ware she refuses to acknowledge the damage the pictures are clear b4 and after. Now im looking into a bigger expense elsewhere. Stay away.... I was very nervous upon arriving as I didn't know what to expect since I've never had microdermabrasion before. But Denise was so sweet and welcomed me in. She was very informative in letting me know about the procedure before she started. It was mildly a little uncomfortable when the microdermabrasion appliqué(or however you call it) was applied and stroked to my face. But beauty involves pain as they say. After-all it is scrubbing and cleaning a good little layer off your face. It was nice when she applied some cooling product mask afterwards. I wish I could remember the name of it. I never like to give a one star but the truth is Denise institute did not meet to my expectations when I purchased my group on for me and my husband. We needed to find a place to get our monthly facial and what better way search for a place, purchase group on. What better way for business's to promote their services for a great price. After that, it's up to them to gain people as loyal customers. What I don't like is business's thinking all group on users just want deals. A very tiny dark. Dirty room, dirty linens and bed. Not relaxing at all . Stressed me more cause I felt so dirty afterwards and smelly. Denise was talking to me while I'm laying on the old smelly bed and her breath stinks . I didn't find her very professional at all. First thing inside she tried to up-sell me since I had a Groupon. Part of a facial is enjoying the atmosphere and this one had none. The music was awful and IMO not appropriate for a salon. A song would play and then there'd be a clicking sound and then an ad in a foreign language - it was rather jarring. The light in the room was too bright. While I was on the bed she took many calls on her cell phone, talking very loudly and I never saw her wash her hands afterwards. I didn't find it very hygienic. The facial lasted 20 minutes - makes me wonder if I got a proper treatment. Needless to say I will not be returning and would not recommend this place. read more

Denise has been my aesthetician for about 20 years now. I drive 1/2 an hour each way to see her because she is so worth it. She uses the latest and the tried-and-true treatments and products, and my skin looks fantastic. She has a medical background and has knowledge of all the best products from Morocco to Israel to Europe and the US. Her prices are definitely reasonable and the ambience is always calm, relaxing, loving and nurturing. She works out of a salon where I can get my hair and nails done - and Denise will even set up the appointments for me for a carefree day of pampering! Worst experience ever! If ever in this situation again--I will walk out instantly. I just kept trying to be positive in my mind and give her a chance. Like other reviews, the room was dirty, cluttered like a person on an episode of Hoarders and dusty. She presented herself the same way....DIRTY, unbathed, literally had boogers hanging from her nose. I am not wanting to be blatantly mean for no reason. This was what I went through. She had no sense of a gentle touch OR personal boundaries. Stood there watching awkwardly as I removed my shirt and moved my bra straps (for the massage that never came) and she helped me get on top of a cluttered, tattered table bed with torn up, musty sheets and pillows, etc. She was so rough to the touch with the microderm AND poured essential oils (cheap ones--too strong) down my throat with her messy approach. She also critiqued my eyebrows, which happen to be natural and beautifully shaped--by telling me that she is an eyebrow expert. FYI- SHE HAS THE WORST FADED, TATTOOED eyebrows from 50 yrs ago with an eggplant dye color on her face. Lastly, she stood too close (no boundaries) as I rushed to put my shirt back on afterwards and reached aggressively in front of me to grab the velcro towel that I was using---all to refold it and place it back on the dirty blankets to use for the next person. Awful all around. ADDING THIS ON--- IN RESPONSE TO DR. B--- 100% true experience. My attention to all of the details included were to paint the exact picture of what happened. CLEARLY THIS DR. B is friends with Denise and trying to help out her reviews---but this fake Doctor B should read the very similar reviews below. And nice try calling someone who had an unrealistically horrific experience, troubled. Trust me, I love giving people great reviews and truly enjoy doing so. Denise is amazing. Every time I fly out to Los Angeles, I go and visit her. She has helped me fix skin problems that I had for years. She is patient and caring and really explains the whole process. It is easy to make appointments with her. Her place is not lavish and a little crampt but I don't mind. My skin is vibrant and alive when I leave. She is a higly qualified esthetisian and she has really unique products that make a difference. I threw out all the other skin creams that I was using. My niece had horibble acne problems and had to get ready for the prom. Denise put her on a schedule of appointments 2 months in advance so she could heal her skin and get her ready. Ugh had to leave a review. Denise was kind But jesus christ was she aggressive and rough with my skin!!! She also does try and upsell a lot by saying things like "No honey you need this because your skin is bad or infected" I mean I get it my skins bad that's why i scheduled the facial in the first place? She also was not clear on prices of the facial. I would ask her and she would just tell me what I needed and why. I spent $115 not including tip. On top of that Kim the owner said I was able to pay with my card no problem then turns out Denise said she doesn't allow that and i had to walk to the Cvs close by to take out cash only for me to come back and find how Denise screwed up and told me the wrong thing. It just sucks because it wastes everyone time. She works in the back of a nail salon, so expect for it to be noisy. She is constantly leaving the room and leaving the door open so it's not relaxing whatsoever. Nor does she provide a facial massage or hand massage with your facial, while you lay there with a mask on she will be texting on her phone with the volume on high. talk about obnoxious? I know i may seem bitchy but if you're going to charge me the same price as an actual spa, shouldn't you at least try a little harder? Bottom line: It's too expensive for what it's worth. Horrible customer service!! I bought a grupon of 4 sessions of 60 min for 3 facial treatments. On my first session lady insisted me to upgrade service because I need a deep cleaning I was agree and paid $50 extra for the session. For the following sessions, I decided to say no and she gave me 30 min session and she skipped one of the treatments and said that machine was broke. I've been going to Denise for about 1 year now and my skin would not be the same without her when I first met her she helped me moisturize my skin and recognize the problems I needed to solve in order to have clearer skin. After listening and using oil free products my skin looked and felt a lot healthier. I have tried so many facials over and over and I've been to all the fancy spa places. THEY DONT WORK. Denise may be tougher but that's because it's the only thing that works. I have never seen such immediate results. My skin looks so much better in a matter of hours. So what if it hurts a little, suck it up. I have been going to Denise for skin care for several years, and have referred several friends who have been pleased with her. She offers a personal touch, and exudes a sense of warmth, that one could only feel if they traveled to a spa in a exotic faraway place. You feel like she is caring for you as though you were her family! Her products are wonderful and I have experienced drastic changes in my skin. I was never one whose skin was complimented on when I was younger. Who ever would have thought that in my 30s people would be saying how good my skin looks? The 60 minute facial turned out to be 30 minutes of pain. My cheekbones were on pain and told her and she said it was fine. That the machine was going to work better that way. Everything in her facial room is dirty. The white sheets on the facial bed were dirty, the body wrap had hair on it. The facial sponges she used on me to clean my face were the same sponges she used to clean my friend's face and she didn't sanitized her equipment. If you don't want to get some type of skin fungus please don't go to her! Don't buy the coupon she is selling on Groupon. You wont get a refund. read more

I think that the 5 stars says it all, but I will still brag about the treatment and experience that I had with Denise. I will admit that I was a bit weary when I first entered a nail salon looking for Denise for a microdermabrasion treatment. Her room in in the back. She has many, many years of experience. I was Denise's former teacher of many medical classes that she took to add to her already extensive background. In the classroom, her knowledge blew me away and she had an amazing bedside manner, so I kept her always in the back of my mind. I decided to finally try Denise. This is when I realized how many thousand of dollars I had wasted going to many upscale fancy Beverly Hills and Westlake Village dermatology offices, esthetisians and even plastic surgeons in the past, only to pay more too get way, way less than the services that she did for me. (All that I was paying for was to look at fancy furniture) You're there for serious treatment not the atmosphere of a spa. She has top of the line equipment and the latest state of the art technology. She was able to get out things on my face that the doctor's said they couldn't! Infact, I had been to the doctor to ask. She cleaned up my face, got out cystic hard bumps, white and black heads,minimized my scars and age spots. She also uses high end products from Europe and the Dead Sea. She really spent time making my skin vibrant and healthier. After seeing my skin, she already got 2 referrals. Her prices are very fair, and she is very professional and kind. I can't wait to go back in two months. Since I have been going to her, I feel and look younger (and I've been told by others the same!) I'm not a big yelp writer of reviews, so the fact that I took the time to write this is because Denise deserves it and you do too! My skin has improved so much since I started going to Denise just 2 months ago. I have always had very sensitive and acne prone skin, I tried so many products without success; spent so much money on skin care that I secured the VIB status at Sephora for the next 2 years....then Denise came into my life. She made me return all that I could back to Sephora and gave me just a couple of products to try. Right away I saw the difference, my skin tone has improved a lot because I'm no longer allergic to what I was putting on my face. The breakout has subsided a lot too. I just had my 3rd microdermabrasion with Denise today. She's helped erase and correct a lot of the damage I did to my skin. Using wrong products have cost me throughout the years financially, physically and most important of all emotionally. I don't expect 100% improvement overnight but so far I'm happy with what Denise is able to do for my skin. read more
