Stunning views from the aircraft. Really enjoyed the tour. We couldn't land on the glacier as we…read morehad hoped, even with pretty standard conditions. The aircraft is a piston powered beaver and not as capable as the turboprop aircraft of other tour companies, so if you want to land on a glacier, go elsewhere. I wish they had been more up front about this fact, but otherwise it was a beautiful flight.

What a great experience! This was a bucket list item that I didn't know I was missing. Chris at…read moreSheldon Air Service was the perfect pilot for this grad adventure. I called early in the morning and let it be known that I wanted a flight on one of two days, time didn't matter. I was contacted a couple of hours later to let me know I could join three others on a flight at 4 pm. Yay! The ground crew (sorry didn't get names) were very helpful and supplied dark sunglasses and overshoes (the glacier landing was a bit mushy for my tennis shoes). Chris gave a great safety briefing and we were off. They don't fly if the weather is hiding all of the mountains and glaciers. We had some clouds, which I think added some mystery to the sights. The small Beaver plane had room for 5 plus the pilot (you got to let him com) but ther were only 4. I got the back seat so I could see out both sides. The plane was clean and the flight was generally smooth. The pictures just can't do justice to the amazing views and the scale of the mountains and glaciers.

You'll learn so much from the many different mountain ranges, to the glacial flour that makes the lakes a milky color, to flying over animal tracks with the hopes to find its owner. He has deep knowledge of the Alaskan things, and all the different ways to hike a mountain and how to get there. He's knowledgeable on all the lakes and rivers, where to fish, where to stay, and how he can safely get you there. He's a phenomenal pilot who's very aware of his surroundings and his airplane is absolutely well managed and cared for. I can't wait to come back and fly with David again!

We booked a tour for Tuesday but the weather was bad. He made multiple attempts to contact us the day before to reschedule but we were in the middle of the national park with no reception. He called us again early on Tuesday morning and informed us that we might have to cancel the flight. He would transfer back the deposit immediately (Zero hassle). He also offered to reschedule on Wednesday. Lucky we could rearrange other plan to fly with him on Wednesday. Oh man, this was the NICEST experience in Alaska so far (we did zip line, boat tour, bus tour). It's worth every penny and every minute. This is the best way to see Alaska.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in the hands of true professionals. Our mushers, Jaren and Dane, were incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They didn't just guide us - they educated us, patiently answering every single one of my (many!) questions with enthusiasm and depth. You can tell they truly love sharing this world with others. What stood out just as much as the scenery was the care and devotion shown to the dogs. Every single Alaskan Husky is clearly loved, respected, and exceptionally well cared for. It's obvious the entire team is deeply invested in the health, happiness, and wellbeing of these amazing animals, which made the experience feel even more special and authentic. And then there's the ride itself - absolutely breathtaking. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the trail felt like something out of a dream. We glided through endless stretches of pristine white snow, surrounded by pines trees, with the crisp Alaskan air filling our lungs. At one point, we were even treated to a clear view of Denali in the distance. This wasn't just a tour, it was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that completely exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Alaskan Husky Adventures to anyone looking for something truly extraordinary.

If you're a solo female traveler, you may want to read this…read more I booked this tour after a warm phone call with Liz and drove over an hour to get there on February 15, 2026. The dogs were great and the trail was scenic, but my interaction with owner Matthew Failor detracted from the experience. At check-in, the waiver asked for my full address. When I hesitated and asked why, his response was essentially that I needed to fill it out or I wouldn't be allowed to go out on the sled. Only afterward did he vaguely mention insurance. Being given that kind of ultimatum in front of other guests felt coercive rather than respectful. After the run, he asked if I had fun and stayed warm. I answered simply and briefly. He then commented that I was "a woman of very few words," which came across as dismissive. He then asked where I live, despite my earlier hesitation about sharing personal information. As a woman traveling alone who had already shown discomfort about privacy, that felt intrusive and tone-deaf. The actual sled run was also noticeably shorter than expected, which made the overall experience feel less worth the cost. Liz later called, listened to my concerns, and processed a refund, which I appreciated. I'm sharing this so other women traveling alone can make an informed decision. While the dogs and trail were enjoyable, my interaction with Matthew made the overall experience uncomfortable and not worth repeating.
