I experienced repeated issues, including same-day cancellations and same day rescheduling, limited availability when trying to rebook, being charged additional fees due to Demi's lack of availability, appointments starting late due to her running behind, and excessive phone use during my appointment time. The overall experience became increasingly unprofessional. Due to these ongoing issues, I requested a refund for my 3 unused fill services totaling $144. After several requests I was only refunded $25 and informed of a no-refund policy that was never disclosed to me at the time of payment. Took a break for a few months and thankfully when I booked again, Demi agreed to give me the original deal I had when I started which is why I continue to stick with Demi Lashes. The service at Demi's is decent. Demi is sweet, kind and very amiable. They have one other employee, Jin, who does my lashes. She is sweet but much quieter and more aloof. She does decent work and the price is competitive so doesn't matter to me that Jin isn't garrulous. :) I guess if I there was one thing they could improve is the wait time. I usually have to wait 15-20 minutes in the small lobby and the actual refills take a bit of time, too. I do think the gal who does my lashes checks her phone every few minutes. I am not sure if she is flagging messages to the business or doing social media but I swear it's every few minutes that the she stops to tap on her phone; the phone is near my ear so I can hear/sense it. The first time I went my set was perfect exactly how I wanted them. The second time (I think the girls name was Tiffany) she was literally plucking out my eyelashes whilst trying to get some of the old ones out. It was extremely painful and she didn't even do them how I wanted them. The third time I showed up on a weekday needing a fill in and I showed up at 9am (the time we agreed on) and the shop was locked and I waited a whole hour for someone to show up. I was super ecstatic when I found their Yelp deal. I called to set up an appointment and was taken in pretty quickly (2 days later) and I mentioned the Yelp both over the phone & in person. When I went into the appointment it was very straightforward. You possibly might want to take some earphones so you can relax and listen to music as they're placing the eyelashes. She is very meticulous with every single piece of hair and is so gentle that I fall asleep at every session. I receive A LOT of compliments and everyone loves how natural they look. The one star is they are nice while they rip you off. Called to get hybrid lashes which I have had for the last six years, was told over the phone it would be $89. No problem great, get me in last minute hybrid lashes $89 I would pay as I know it was really more than a fill. I laid there for TWO hours of burning and pinching like I have never had before! Tape stuck so close on my lower lids it was poking me in the eye. I kept thinking this is going to end soon, stick it out after all this these lashes are going to look amazing! She takes the tape off the lower lids and upper (I have never had tape on the upper) and I swear it brought up skin! I looked in the mirror and could not believe what I saw. I visited during a promo they were having on a full set of volume lashes. Kim was my lash tech, and she was absolutely amazing. They scheduled me in on short notice. It was my first time getting extensions so I didn't know what to expect, but they were very clear when explaining the process and care instructions to me. It took Kim approximately 90 minutes to complete the full set, she really paid attention to the details. They came out very full and fluffy. I really love coming here! I was referred by a coworker who has her lashes done by Jean. I liked the way her lashes looked, so I decided to make an appointment before going on vacation. I was very impressed with my overall experience. The studio is close to home and work for me. It's very cozy, clean and everyone is super friendly. I had purchased their refill contract maybe four or more times, customer for quite a while. If you pay beforehand, for refills, a discount is given. The last time I was at the office for a full set, service was horrible. The young girl who was doing my lashes was very rude. I do not know her name but she mentioned to be the owners niece. A baby was on the other bed next to mine asleep. My phone rang and I tried to ask politely if she could give me my phone or check who it was in a low voice and she "shushed me" told me to be quiet more than two times when I tried to explain why I needed to know who was calling. And when I was finished I mentioned the fact that I had a baby also at home and if my phone was ringing so many times and was concerned for it could be an emergency. She just looked me blankly in the face, like she didn't care and told me how much it was for my lashes. I had the worst experience here. Run!!! I texted them for an appointment and they scheduled me. When I showed up, they had me fill out some paperwork & then as I was sitting there waiting for a while, I asked if I was going to be taken back since I had an appointment. She told me that my eyelash technician wasn't there but she'd be coming back. Eventually she showed up and then asked me to pay $150 upfront (only Zelle or Venmo). I felt this was a pretty steep price considering the location and look of the place. It was also pretty shady that they only accept cash. She then took me to the room which looked so unkept. There were stains on the pillows and an old, used up yoga mat as the bed cover you lay on. I should have left the moment I saw that but I had already paid. Then she started doing my eyelashes and a kid walked in. idk if she thought I was asleep but she got up and left to the other room to eat with the kid! She turned on the microwave, heated up food and proceeded to eat loudly. I thought she would come right back but when she didn't even mention it & was taking forever, I was in shock. I eventually asked if someone could please come back to do my lashes. She came back like nothing ever happened, with a mouth full of food over my face. It was so vile and disgusting. I just wanted it to be done so I could leave. 5 min go by, the kid comes back and says she needs her to take her to the bathroom, there's no bathroom in their suite so she gets up and leaves the suite to go to the bathroom with the kid. Again, I'm laying there helpless, with my eyes tapped shut and in shock of how unprofessional this place is. I'm waiting, and waiting and about to have a panic attack from being stranded with my eyes closed and unable to leave. I had to ask someone several times to come help me and get the tape off my eyes so I can leave. When I asked for a refund they said all they can do is 20% off on my next set. I'm really sad that joey left Demilash. She was my go to girl. I would normally ask for C curls .07 mm in 10,11,12 length for a very natural and light look. I've been messaging back and forth with Demi for a few months because she told me that joey is on vacation. In the end, she finally told me the truth about joey moving away. A month ago, I booked an appointment with Demi the day that I leave to Italy. I didn't want to deal with masacara and eye makeup remover while traveling. I told her what I wanted and she gave me a very heavy full set that doesn't look natural at all. I feel like I have caterpillars on my eyelashes. I looked closely and instead of only putting two lashes on one. It seems like Demi rushed and put 4-5 lashes on each of my one lashes. It's heavy and irritating. Demi was on the phone talking about lunch and dinner plans and gossiping with her friends the entire time. It was an unpleasant experience for me, so I don't think I will be coming back. I feel like $135 went down the drain to bad service. She was not thorough and now I'm walking around Italy with caterpillars on my eyes. On my left eye. The lashes are not as close to my waterline as they are to my right lash. So it seems like I have two different sets of lashes on and i feel so ugly. Still no apology. When I was in lash class we were taught to ALWAYS pay attention to the client will fill focus. It's extremely unprofessional and dangerous to Have sharp tools in a clients face while talking on the phone. What if your phone fell on my face? What if it fell and your tools poked me in the eye? And NO it wasn't a 5 minute conversation. You have multiple phone calls. I always fall asleep when i get my lashes done and the only time I was able to sleep was when you left the room for 10 minutes without saying anything or explaining what you will be doing. I thought that this was just a one time thing and gave them a second chance. I came in the second time and Demi made me wait for 30 minutes. What's the point of texting your patrons their confirmation appointments the day before when you yourself can't even adhere to your own scheduling? I was called in after 30 minutes with Demi and she didn't even apologize/ acknowledge how late she was. I gave Demi a chance to see if she would say anything after she had filled my eyelashes and nope. She acted as though everything was all good. I then took it upon myself to ask her does she usually conduct business this way because this isn't business acumen. Everything runs late here and what's the point of making an appointment? I had made another appointment to be somewhere after and thank goodness I gave myself ample cushion time to make it. That should never be the case however. I asked Demi about being late and she finally said sorry but only when I mentioned it. She lacks initiative and accountability. She also started blaming the system she was using and it messed up all her appointments. That doesn't explain it for the previous time that it happened as well though. So are there system issues happening constantly? This space is small and I already saw the next person waiting to see Demi. I took a look at the time and she's made her wait 20 minutes over. I let her know that I'm not in any way trying to make her other client wait but this has to be addressed in person. Demi then talks about compensating me and as she talked she went from saying she would comp the next lash fill to changing it to only me getting 10% off if she is late again. Consistency is everything and this is poor business acumen if you can't even keep your word. I'm not looking for a free fill. UPDATE: Well.. here we are, it's March 2019, almost 2 YEARS LATER and my lashes have NEVER fully recovered, nor have they been the same since.. Moreover, I haven't gotten my lashes done since this horrific, traumatizing and apparently PERMANENT nightmare of an experience.. Not to be dramatic, but I have LEGIT developed PTSD over this never-ending nightmare that still haunts me daily.. I would have NEVER gone here had I known the repercussions. MAKE SURE you are getting what you PAY FOR: i.e., make sure they aren't applying some CHEAP drugstore lashes or some CHEAP lashes that they claim to be real or mink or whatever, that they ordered off of some overseas website (UMMM.. yes, true story). Oh, I don't know if you fellow YELP'ers can read DEMI's comments to me.. Personally, when I research a place on YELP, I take a lot of things into consideration.. Reviews, obviously.. but I also look at the businesses response if they take the time to do so...and I look at these whether it's a 1-2 star review or a 5 star review, because a great establishment should recognize the GOOD and the BAD.. A bad review can be due to several reasons.. and from what I've seen on YELP, is that many businesses do try and remedy the issue. If they're rude/abrasive/defensive or accuse/blame the YELP'er, I scratch them off of my list. So, as much as I didn't appreciate DEMI's Messages to me, I stand by my reviews and MY personal thoughts/opinions.. Besides, the basis of YELP is to serve as a SAFE platform, in which us YELP'ers are encouraged to share our honest feedback and personal experience to help others. I had an appt at 5:30p and was attended to at 6p. Lol they were busy but other than that they were very nice and went over the different lashes with me. It was my first time getting eyelash extensions so I was a little nervous as to how it was to turn out but I'm glad I came here. My lashes are definitely fuller and curlier and anyone who doesn't know me or see me often would be none the wiser about them not being my own. I have been going here for months and it's such a bummer that I have to write this because I did love the work they did until recently. About 2 months ago I came in for a fill, when I was done I opened my eyes and it seemed that the corner lashes between my top and bottom lashes had been glued together. The lady laid me back down and took the sharp tools and pulled them apart, which hurt but was to be expected. I left and my eye was clearly irritated (which can be normal, I do lash extensions myself). I gave it a few hours and the pain still didn't go away, I looked closely at my eye and my natural lashes has been pushed down touching my eyes. Next thing I know a few hours after that my eye was in severe pain. I had a huge red knot in my eye. I couldn't go back for them to check it because I was leaving for vacation that night. So I just sucked it up and let it happen and had to leave. I then came back 2 or 3 weeks later for a fill, I asked the lady who had done them if I could have some sort of compensation or discount considering this happened. She said I had to talk to Demi. So I said that's fine and paid full price. Another 2 or 3 weeks pass and I come back in and get the same response even though when I had called I asked about getting compensation again and they said they would ask before I came in. So again I paid the full price to get my fill. Finally 2 days ago I went in and made sure this time I got my appointment with Demi. Before Demi even started on my lashes I made sure to pull her aside show her the pictures and ask for my compensation for not only what happened but going 2 times paying full price after. All she could offer me was $40 off of the $160 price which has been raised since I had gone in last.. And also the entire time she was trying to tell me that the knot in my eye (that I got check out) was "normal". I'm sorry but that IS NOT normal and the fact I went so long after that point with no sense of remorse from them is awful. Not only has this happened but they will try to overcharge you. My friend went in today after ONE WEEK since her last fill and they tried charging her $50 ... the normal fill is $65. That is just an unacceptable price. I'm so bummed that I have to write this because their work is awesome, but with this kind of customer service I will not be back. read more
