So, look, when your kid needs orthodontic work you feel compelled to... brace yourself. There's the regular appointments, all the appliances, your child not doing what they're supposed to, and of course all the costs associated with braces, etc. I have to say from day one, Dr. DeMaio and his staff went above and beyond in making sure my children's treatment went as smoothly as possible. My first experience with the office was roughly eight years ago. My son had an unusual situation that went beyond straight teeth and required procedures that I wasn't familiar with at all. When I had braces some 40 years ago, they just slapped them on, cranked them up and said see you next month. When I got them off, they said "bye" and gave me a retainer that I promptly lost. Well, Dr. DeMaio explained what was happening with my son and what he needed. He answered all our questions and made sure we understood everything. Now, my son was not the most responsible patient, but Dr. DeMaio was patient and firm with him, explaining that the sooner got on the program, the easier it was going to be. My wife and were very satisfied with the attention my son received, so much so that when my daughter got to the age when she needed braces, we brought her to Dr. D. (if you look at my user pic, that's her in her braces.) We're just about done with her stint. If my youngest daughter needs braces, we're going to Dr. DeMaio. A few words about the staff. They are professional, friendly, attentive and good-humored. They're always smiling. They got to know me, and my absent-mindedness. When I forgot one of my daughter's appointments, they started sending me text messages as an extra reminder, which was helpful. Now, the bill... we didn't have insurance, but Dr. DeMaio painlessly arranged things, we stuck to the program and it was never a problem. It made things very easy. We have never had a bad experience there and would refer my best friends' kids to them, and they live about an hour away. read more

I have visited Demaio Orthodontics 2X and both times I have been greeted by competent,friendly staff. The visits have been timely. Office is clean and efficient. Dr Demaio is approachable and takes necessary time to explain his assessment. I highly recommend this office. read more

I have been a patient with Dr. D for years, so has my mom and family friends! He is great and his staff is great! He first and foremost has brought back my confidence when I smile. I am a tough case when it comes to my teeth and jaw. I was missing teeth, had a bone graph and 5 implants. These implants were surrounding my front two teeth, so I was missing teeth and had a wear a retainer while healing (this was in high school, so pretty rough time). I had had braces but the braces didn't appropriately align my teeth as they should have and my orthodontist at the time said I didn't need a retainer after I had all this work done.... Then I went to college and long story short, over time my teeth moved.. a lot. Fast forward to 5 years ago and I move back to the area and I go see Dr. D. There was no way I was getting braces again in my late twenties so I went with invisiline. Mind you, he had to work my teeth appropriately around my implants, and implants don't move. Also, my implants were in poor hygienic shape (which I didn't know because any dentist I had seen prior told me I was fine). Dr. D is the one who first noticed and recommended I see a specific dentist that could help, which he did and now I see a periodontist hygienist which has drastically improved my hygiene and probably saved my implants. That started from Dr. Ds recommendation. There was some concern that invisiline may not be able to move my teeth as much as they needed to be given the situation however that concern proved moot. Dr. D was able to move them and actually align them appropriately so the mid lines actually lined up, which had never happened before! He was meticulous in each visit and I never felt rushed and he never rushed. In the home stretch of the process I would get another round of retainers several times that would make small movements (I was changing every week). You could always tell his office is busy but he always makes sure to take the right amount of time with each patient and ensure quality work, I would even say quality craftsmanship. I am done with invisiline now and have a retainer to wear at night. I still see him every few months to ensure everything still looks good and it does! I have a baby girl on the way and I assure you, if she needs any orthodontic work done, she will see Dr. D! In short, just wanted say thanks Dr. D! read more

Most are good hygienists, straight out of college. 6 months ago when they took bitewings, the technician wanted to take 3 'retries' on one side because she "couldn't get a good one." I said no - You can keep the ones you already did, you don't get endless xrays into my face like that. Your second try was already too much. The actual dentist himself has an odd manner. On the rare chance he actually looks IN your mouth (twice in the last 10 years because he's always "busy") he banged the mirror around my teeth. When I complained out loud, he made a sarcastic comment. My last appt was in November and I had no cavities. In January I went to a different dentist just as an experiment. Two cavities, and one was "deep." That concerns me quite a bit, considering I've left my hygienist appts with zero cavities for the last 7 years. Two don't just appear in 2 months. I won't go back and I don't recommend this place.

The ultimate care is going to be fine, but it is wild to have to set aside an entire chunk of a day for an appointment because there is an impossibly long wait time and distain, disgust, and blame from the staff and doctor when asked if an end time could be reasonably close to the start time.

Always a great experience, even though it's a trip to the "dentist". The office is well run and very kid friendly from the office staff, the dental hygienists right up to Dr D! My kids enjoy the monthly riddle contests that keep them busy in the waiting room. The office offers fun perks like a movie theater day for patients in the summer. Dr D is well qualified and professional and relates well to both kids and parents. Most importantly, we feel like we are getting a good value for our money. Extremely pleasant, frank, personable, professional. Dr. DeMaio has a good rapport with the adolescent and teen clients. I really appreciated how he discussed multi-ethnic facial features, and said he honors them, instead of trying to make all mouths the same. Health is the motivator. I highly recommend Dr. DeMaio if you are looking to beautify your smile (and improve your oral health). Using Invisalign Dr. D was able to give me the smile I wanted. Amazing service from Dr DeMaio. We have 2 children. We brought the first one in and Dr. D said (despite his apparently bad teeth) he recommended waiting to see how they mature. It turned out they fixed themselves. Amazing that he didn't push for a new client. The second kid did need work and Dr D did a great job. Amazing service and amazing results. Of course, my daughter was not thrilled to get braces. I have to say, the De Maio office is friendly and supportive every step of the way and eased all fears.
