This is when I was told the Dr was "running on time!" I'm stuck seeing a new Dr because my normal OCLI Dr was unavailable. This is the nightmare that's happening when private equity buys up medical practices and forces doctors to stack schedules with as many patients as possible, often quadruple scheduling and limiting face time. I recommend staying with smaller independent practices, which sadly are becoming harder to find.

I found him when I moved up to North Jersey and I am so happy I did. He is a great eye doctor and really spends a good amount of time with his patients. I trust Dr. Rothman's opinion and he even recommended me to a great eye glasses place. I order my contacts through his office and the whole process is rather easy. I've never had any problems dealing with insurance or his secretary when it comes to billing. I went face first into the concrete, and my Oakley's smashed on the right corner lens, and the side piece came off. After 30 years, I thought they were done for. I brought them to BJ's optical in East Rutherford, and Kathy was so kind and helpful. At first she didn't think she could fix them, but she stuck with it and was able to to attach the side piece to the frame. i couldn't be happier. Kathy was great, and I really appreciated her help and professionalism. I'll be a customer of BJ's for life!

However since I am low on cash, I needed to find the absolute cheapest pair. Unfortunately the shape of my lens is a bit unusual and they did not have anything that would match . The current state of my glasses was that one earpiece was completely off and one of the nosepieces was missing. I had been wearing these glasses for about six months this way and it was to say the least, quite annoying. However Donna told me that if I could bring them back with the earpiece which I did not have on me,she would gladly fix them for me which she did! She saved me quite a bit of cash that I didn't have to spend anyway! She stated just to come back when I could afford a pair of glasses and they would make a pair for me there. So kind of a bribe as it were, which is not only fair enough, but while she was repairing my glasses, I did actually find a pair that I will be buying there that I found to be quite unique and really nice! While purchasing $800 glasses from an optometrist once and getting partial coverage from insurance is a necessary thing, it is not always a budget friendly option. Fortunately there are online options available to order with a prescription. I know that these offices are reluctant to share prescriptions due to the increasing use of these online options. But they are in fact OUR prescriptions. When my daughter called for the PD #, NOT an expired RX, they would only offer it for $25. That seems absurd since it is her medical history. And quite frankly none of their business what she will do with her OWN records. But to assert that it would be a liability for them to give that number to her is asinine. Their conversation escalated to unreasonable proportions because of the staff's incredibly condescending responses. We will not be doing business there again. Unfortunately they couldn't see the value of doing this courtesy.

At first the glasses didn't feel right but after I called, they suggested to wait a month and see how I felt. I kept using my old glasses and try the new ones from time to time until I eventually got used to. I found that the glass was too thick comparing to the ones I usually got from my previous eye doctor in the City. My glasses got broken and came today to get them replaced under the guarantee. They flat out said that those glasses were not from them and that the frame nor the prescription matches what was on file. I was in shock; I was given glasses that did not match the prescription on my file yet they charged me for those services. At the end they put Dr. Dominguez on the phone who with a very condescending tone kept saying that those were not glasses from her practice and from time to time she made sounds insinuating that I was lying. Yet, didn't apologize nor occurred to her that perhaps the negligence and disorganization of her office got me the wrong or what they call "over the counter" glasses and charged the insurance for the real ones. Take pictures of the glasses they give you so you have proof to refute their claims. Not a place to trust
