He and his crew helped to rewire the garage, install 2 outlets for EV charging, and completely rewired 5 rooms in the house, removing all of the remaining knob and tube wiring. They only had to make a handful of holes in the wall to access components, working primarily from the attic and the crawl space - which is a marvelous rarity given knob and tube removal. He also changed the main panel (now 200 A) and rerouted all circuits to the new panel. He and his crew were fast and cleaned up after themselves. Dominic provides efficient and high quality work. My 1940s home had knob and tube wiring. The electrical outlets were not grounded and some of the bedroom lights sometimes sparked after turning them off. Dominic listened to my concerns and after discussion, we agreed to complete the re-wiring of my home in two phases so that I could delay the costs for some of the work while getting the most urgent issues taken care of more promptly. Dominic and his crew worked around my schedule and ended up being able to do most of the work while I was on vacation. They rewired half the house, and installed a larger electrical box. Also impressive was how few holes and how small the holes were in my home. This made repairing the holes easy. There should be new joke of how many electrical contractors do you have to call to get a LED light installed! I called around to some of the highly rated Electrical Contractors on Yelp with some disappointing results. I called and left messages with Alex of Eminent Electrical and after a few voicemails he finally called back. Alex said he was too busy and could not meet my schedule a week before I needed him to replace a light fixture. Then I contacted O'Connor & Son's Electric who after a lengthy dialog quit responding to my texts! So I called and got in touch with Dominic Deluca from DeLuca Electric. He came to my rescue as I needed the light fixture changed out before a remodel of the room and I had contractors depending on the light fixture being changed out. Dominic set my fears aside and kept to his word on which day I would get service. He sent Gonzalo who showed up early which was fine with me. Gonzalo brought in his tools and put down a large work mat and in twenty minutes had the new LED light installed and working. We hired DeLuca Electric to upgrade our electrical panel from 90 amps to 200 amps, expand and move our old sub-panel to make it code-compliant, rewire our whole 2000 sq ft house that had ancient knob-and-tube wiring, and install a 40 amp electric car charger. We had gotten quotes from three other businesses but decided to move forward with DeLuca Electric as they seemed to be the most experienced at this. One of the business we reached out to wanted to basically rip open a lot of the dry wall and quoted a ridiculous price, another quoted a lower price but they did not seem to have much experience with rewiring, while a third was not only pricier but also quoted a longer time to finish the job, so we did not proceed with either of them. Dominic stopped by first to examine the house and assess the scope of the work. He recommended that we also move our main panel to the side of the house given we were planning to upgrade it anyway. Thanks to his suggestion, our backyard looks a lot cleaner now, with good views that are unobstructed from all the wires that were hanging over it previously. Along the way they also identified some light fixtures (recess lights) which were poorly installed and fixed it for a reasonable fee. All along they were patient with our questions and very responsive. Dominic promised to finish the job in two weeks but they delivered it AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. This helped us move into our house according to our original plan, on time. Dominic, Gonzalo and the rest of the crew at DeLuca electric did an amazing job, we only had about 20 small 4x4 holes in the drywall that needed to be patched when they had finished. We asked Dominic to get a lot of different things done and they did them all very professionally! When hiring for projects, I want teams that will do what they say they are going to do and will take the time to get things done right rather than just done. This is exactly how Dominic and his team work. 1) During a remodel by the previous owners, electrical was added in conduits on top of the roof. This is fine except that the roof needed to be replaced and replacing it with the rat's nest of metal conduits was going to make that very difficult. DeLuca redid all that electrical and buried it in the roof after the old one was removed. This was a VERY complicated job. 2) They installed 11 new light fixtures in two bedrooms. 3) They redid our main panel to the street, handling all the permitting and the timing with PG&E. 4) They redid the wiring from one subpanel to another, doubling the capacity and removing another unneeded subpanel in the process. 5) They added a dedicated 50A car charging breaker and installed a standard NEMA 14-50R outlet for an electric car's level 2 charger. 6) And finally, they redid the low power coax from the street to where it connects inside the house and ran two CAT6 lines from one side of the house to the other. Our home in Belmont still had mostly old knob and tube wiring. It had been on my mind for quite some time to update the wiring to code and a recent fire of a house in the neighborhood, most likely started by faulty wiring, made us pull the trigger. DeLuca Electric came with a lot of recommendations for this kind of a job. Dominic from DeLuca Electric quickly answered my first email/call and we made an onsite appointment. Dominic is very easy to talk to and listens to your requests. He also let me know, that it was not possible for him to predict how much damage on the drywall it will take to get the whole house rewired, because it's not possible to see behind the walls and I appreciated his honesty. Dominic arranged all the permit work with the city of Belmont and also arranged all the visits with the inspector. That was really a big help for us, because we both are working and it would have been difficult to fit the visits of the inspector into our schedule ! We had an about 2 months waiting time between signing the contract and when they started the work. DeLuca is in high demand, because they do really good work. So if you need some work done, just prepare yourself for a little bit of lead time. They finished the work in about 8 days and there were no complains. There was just one switch in the garage that needed to be moved after they were finished, but this was done quickly by Dominic's team as well. All in all, we can highly recommend DeLuca Electric for their clean, honest and thorough work. This was definitely not a simple project but we are very happy with the result. Dominic and Gonzalo wired and installed both an attic fan and whole house fan in our San Mateo home. Dominic responded to our initial inquiry quickly and was over about 5 days later to have a look, give his suggestions, and answer questions. As promised, he followed up with a written quote the next day, which was at the top end of our budget, but I expected that from a highly recommended electrical contractor and qualified workers. Only downside was the wait. With all the construction and remodeling going on here on the peninsula (and Dominic in high demand) this also didn't surprise us. Luckily this summer hasn't been as hot as last year and we got the fans installed just in time for the last temp spike. We received a follow up approx. 10 days out to get the install day scheduled. Dominic called back and left message for me saying they were kind of busy so wouldn't be able to get to my job for three to four weeks. Call another electrical company (and I won't name names) and they'll tell you they'll send an electrician to your house within a four hour window. You get to take a half a day off work to wait around for them to show up. Call DeLuca and he'll tell you what time to the minute he'll be there, and then he'll be ten minutes early. Your estimates and bills arrive by email, you can communicate back and forth with Dom by email, it's what I want (and wish I could always expect) from a business in Silicon Valley.
