There has been a change in the front desk and I can tell you that the friendly service that used to be there is gone. It has been replaced with rudeness, impatience, and sarcasm. I am 40 years old and finally decided to get braces for the first time. The moment i walked in i felt very welcomed. I was introduced to a person who explained to me all of my options with final prices and information on each detail. She was not pushy at all and I liked that. This review is only for a free orthodontic consultation I had with Dr Esterkyn. The facility is new, state-of-the-art and rather beautiful. Almost over the top compared to what I expect from a dental office. But I'm not complaining mind you. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes before I was taken to a room. A woman proceeded to take digital pictures of my face, jaw and mouth from various angles. The photos, enlarged, were then projected on the wall. Kind of painful to see yourself so unflatteringly but very impressive technologically. The dr came in, took a look at the photos, as well as examined my mouth and explained to me very clearly and concisely what his recommendation was as far as braces. He was kind and patient and answered all of my questions. He then left and the woman proceeded to write down the estimate and explain what it all entailed. Overall, my experience here was very positive and everybody was highly professional. The estimate was about $1k more compared to another orthodontist for the same braces and similar procedures (I got 3 different consults) but if I decide to go with Dr Esterkyn, I don't think I would doubt that it would be worth it. read more

After reading all the good reviews, I decided to go to Dr. Esterkyn for a free consult. I had 2 consults with other doctors before, so I knew more or less what would be my treatment. At that point, I hadn't found a doctor that I am comfortable with until I went to see Dr. Esterkyn. State-of-art facility and equipment, spacious office and professional staff. Having braces as an adult is difficult and I want to make the process as less stress as possible. I put on my braces in the beginning of April and I am very happy of my experience so far. I arrive on time and get out in a timely manner. Staff are always nice and friendly. They try their best to accommodate my financial arrangement (my insurance doesn't cover braces for adult and I have to use medical expense FSA.) Highly recommended!! read more

One of my dd had orthodontic work done and has beautiful teeth now thanks to Dr. Esterkyn. He has now moved to a beautiful office -the design is gorgeous and tranquil in sea blue colors(I want his interior decorator!) and beautiful branch like light fixtures. It is a calming place considering you are there to get braces which is not the most comfortable thing! :O Oh for the kids,they will appreciate the state of the art video games-pretty cool! But of course,we don't select an orthodontist bc of his cool place! He is a friendly and knowledgeable orthodontist-very professional and he is calming too which is a good thing since my 8 yo son is next up for treatment and my son will need that and visa versa(watch out Dr. Esterkyn-my son will not be as easy as my dd!). The staff is friendly and professional as well. They also have a working association with Dr.Tanimura and Dr. Peng's dental office next door (excellent pediatric dentist-see their review!) so they have access at any time to the xrays,etc via computer saving you additional need and expense for more xrays (which is good bc you do not want frequent exposure to xrays!). So it is a win-win situation there. Now braces are expensive imho no matter how you figure it-but they do offer no interest payment plans which should help with the pain of having to fork over the money in the first place! :O read more

There's a reason why Dr E comes so highly recommended by his patients and their parents: he is superb at motivating kids to do their part in their orthodontic treatment. Kids are given rewards for wearing their appliances (headgear, retainer, etc) regularly and keeping up with their dental hygiene. And these aren't just dollar-store toys...kids can redeem "points" for gift cards like iTunes, Amazon, Game Stop, etc. There are monthly contests, and there are video games and movies in the waiting room. Kids get to choose the color of the bands on their braces, and they get to choose from a rainbow of options for their retainers. Things are so different these days...when I was a teen and had braces, I dreaded visiting the orthodontist. My son looks forward to it! The staff is excellent, always very cheerful and encouraging, and appointments are generally quick and painless. They offer payment plans if you need it, and you truly do get top notch care. My son went from a crazy jack-o-lantern smile with teeth pointing every which way, to a confident kid with some seriously straight chompers in just a few months. We still have a ways to go before he's finished, but I know we're in great hands with Dr Esterkyn. read more

The thing I would rate the highest about this office is the dental assistants. They are always friendly and helpful during the visits. The office space (Antioch) itself is very nice and geared towards the kids -- computer check-in, movies, video games. The employees are all very nice and sociable. I really loved the business end of this orthodontics service. I would suggest them for most orthodontic cases. However, I had to have my braced re-done three times because they were taken off prematurely and my teeth were not correctly aligned. This was a hassle, but I realized this is not the norm, therefore I am not docking a lot of points/stars. The facility is very clean, very new, very up to date, very nice. When I was in high school, I had a mouth desperately in need of some TLC. I was super self conscious about my smile and only smiled with my mouth closed for years. When I was 16, my parents were finally in a financial position to take me to get braces. Even though those were tender years as far as teenage self image goes, I didn't care -- all I wanted were straight white teeth. I was so excited to start looking at potential orthodontists. My dad and I had a couple of consults with different orthodontists in the area but I remember that our experience at Dr. Esterkyn's office totally set the bar high. We were greeted with warm, cheery, genuine smiles right upon entering. His office is very modern looking, well-decorated and kept up so well. Not to mention clean!! I've been to a few dentist and doctor offices that are so dusty and outdated. This was not the case with Dr. E. You can tell he puts the best effort into creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere for his patients. After our initial consult for treatment, I knew that I wanted braces from Dr. E. I opted for the traditional metal brackets but he does clear brackets and Invisalign too for those who are able to afford the extra cost. I didn't feel like my treatment was rushed at all. I had my braces on for 2.5 years, not too quick, not too long. I knew Dr. E was putting his best care and effort into making sure my teeth were perfect before he was willing to take them off. Have I mentioned how friendly his staff of ladies is!? I felt like they were old friends by the end of my treatment and they remembered me by name every time I came in. One more thing -- Dr. E really cares about making his patients feel appreciated. He often holds contests for gift cards, limo parties, iPads, you name it. She explained everything to my son very carefully and made sure that he completely understood whatever was going to happen. I am a second-timer for this orthadontist office. I got my braces and care through Dr. E and staff then as a teen and now at the age of thirty______ . My retainer broke at age 20 and so my teeth shifted and I wanted them back to being perfect. I went with the invisalign and I am happy with the results.
