The staff were friendly and took the time to prep things to reduce dirt with the many trips in and out of the home. They also took the time to review the installation with my wife: servicing and care post installation. Very pleased to have them stand behind the unit along with the water heater they installed earlier in 2020.

Not impressed with their recent service call on my hotwater heater…read more Valled them for service on my water tank. Was not getting hot water. Tech arrived and checked the rank, was told i needed to replace the mixing valve, something they don't do even though was told when placing the service call they did service water tanks. Along with their diagnosis they red flagged the exhaust vent on the tank and told it was not in compliance and he would have to red tag the exhaust which meant I had to replace it within a given time or the system would be shut off as well would affect my insurance coverage. The tank was installed by Reliance several years ago and was probably in compliance then. I checked online if in fact it was in compliance at anytime and found out that it is a system still used for high efficiency units. They cause me unnecessary replacement charges of $500 as well as their $180 service call charge. When contacting Button's I dealt with their manager Erin and he confirmed the exhaust was legal and would only refund the $180 service call charge and since their manager Erin didn't service the exhaust they would NOT refund the charge even though they were responsible for the additional cost. It seemed as though the created a problem so they can repair it and charge for something unnecessary. Not impressed with their customer service and the way the problem was handled. Although this a mistake on their part, they would not pay for their mistake. Mike N.

Our furnace died in the early days of April, when the evening temperatures dropped below 0 degrees…read moreCelsius. Waza Home Comfort looked like the best place to suit our needs, and I can now say that Waza is a terrific service to turn to for all of your HVAC needs! Stephen, our consultant, was very clear and direct in his explanations, and went over all of the financials with us. Buying a furnace is no joke, and lightens your bank account considerably. Living off the grid was looking very tempting, but Stephen walked us through the process of applying for a government grant for our new, energy efficient heat pump. We were successful, and received the grant, which lightened our load. When it came time to do the actual technical work, our technicians, Arek and Brad, were top notch. There was another technician, whose name I didn't get, and he was great too. They showed us how everything works, how to use our new thermostat, and explained how to arrange proper servicing or our new furnace and heat pump/air conditioner. Bonus: they are OK with dogs!! We have two friendly but large dogs, and the guys weren't afraid! Our home is warm now, thanks to WAZA, They helped us every step of the way to a climate controlled house, and know how to handle people who are stressed because the furnace dies. Shout out to Stephen, Arek, Brad and the other technician who was with them on the first couple of days. We are really happy!

There is more work to do down the line and we will be calling them again when we do it. Travis and his assistant were friendly, professional and genuinely easy to talk to. They wore shoe covers and took real care to leave everything clean, which we noticed and appreciated. No pressure, no upselling, just a clear explanation of what was wrong and what it would take to fix. If you need emergency plumbing in Ajax, ask for Travis. We were really impressed.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Sewer Squad, particularly because I hired them…read moreat one of the most difficult and vulnerable times a homeowner can experience. After suffering two back-to-back floods, I hired Sewer Squad to install a backwater valve because the City of St. Catharines offers the FLAP grant program. On Sewer Squad's recommendation, I also agreed to have a sump pump installed. Before proceeding, I brought the FLAP program information directly to Giulian. He reviewed it and assured me they understood the requirements and could support the process. I was also specifically told that Sewer Squad handled the necessary permits and related requirements. That did not happen. To my shock, I discovered that no plumbing permit had been applied for, and the requirements necessary for the FLAP program had not been properly completed. I ultimately had to go onto the City of St. Catharines website myself, apply and pay for the plumbing permit, and submit the FLAP application. This is particularly serious because you cannot simply arrange the required City plumbing inspection without the proper permit. Even worse, my home flooded for a THIRD time after Sewer Squad completed this work. Over the following two weeks, I dealt with multiple emails, conversations and explanations from Sewer Squad that simply did not line up with what I was subsequently learning from the City and the inspector. I discovered that the sump pump did not have the backup I believed was required and that it was not connected to the weeping tile system. Then came the latest unbelievable situation: Sewer Squad did not show up for the plumbing inspection. The inspection failed. The work necessary for it to pass had not been completed, and Sewer Squad has still not returned to properly resolve the outstanding issues. I contacted the City inspector myself, and he confirmed to me that Sewer Squad knew what needed to be done before he could return to reinspect the work. I am also still waiting for the required camera footage that I need for my insurance company and the inspector. Because this remains unresolved, I have now had to hire another company to take over the work and retain a lawyer. What makes this experience especially upsetting is the timing. Our family was dealing with repeated flooding, sewage damage and enormous stress. This was exactly when we needed to be able to trust the professionals we hired. I also wish I had been more cautious after hearing discussions about offering "cash" deals to people who did not have insurance coverage. In hindsight, that should have raised concerns for me. I am sharing this review because homeowners dealing with flooding are already overwhelmed. When hiring a company for a backwater valve, sump pump or work connected to a municipal grant program, verify the permit yourself, confirm exactly what is included in writing, confirm the installation meets the City's requirements, and make sure all inspections are completed before considering the job finished. My experience with Sewer Squad has resulted in additional expense, additional stress, a failed inspection, another flood, another contractor being brought in to address the work, and now legal involvement. After everything our family has already been through, this experience has been absolutely awful.
