We started using Draus and Associates 3 years ago and at first we had a great experience with Nick…read more We appreciated that he was local and overall the price was fair for our taxes. This year would be our 3rd year using Draus and Associates. We received a bill for double the amount we paid 3 years ago. We had less to claim and less work to be done with filling this year. They clearly state on their website that taxes are a FIXED price that both parties are clear about. This is a complete lie. We called for an explanation, and they said "prices go up every year". They took our money for the taxes and then didn't even file for months later. Avoid using this company.

Bernard Shorle the owner and his airhead assistant really screwed me over regarding how they prepared and filed my 2023 tax return negligent and incompetent, lazy and unorganized. They filed my business taxes late in May of 2024 because the owne, B.J had health issues. They filed my business seperate from my personal 1040 return. I asked ahead what would be my tax liability. They told me $3,900.00 total for both after they filed. Well that wasn't the case. They submitted my return without me seeing the return and approving before they filed. So now I owe $19,000.00 on top of the $3,900.00. I was in a panic and sent emails, phone calls and messages. They refused to answer my calls, and emails. So I had to call the hair salon next door to find out that they were actually in the office. So I notified the airhead and the owner that I contacted the business next door and they said they can't stand them next door. A lot of clients call the hair salon because they are irresponsible and lazy. They had the nerve to tell me that I have issues because I left so many messages in a weeks time. Not everyone has an extra $20k sitting around. They negligected to file any extensions for personal or business. I owe an extra $3,000.00 because they didn't file an extension for being late. They told me they will not fix my returns and to go somewhere else because I busted them out calling next door. I wouldn't trust these people ever again. I have begged them that I don't have the money and I need my return amended. They will not answer my messages. Run away from these people! You have an imcometant idiot that screens calls and emails. No one is a priority but themselves. They were reported to the IRS. The IRS admitted they were definitely negligent. I'm so stressed out, I don't know where else to turn. I also asked for a refund because they didn't complete my tax returns the correct way. I was told no refund! Best of luck dealing with these incompetent idiots! Pretty fun how after people write bad reviews, suddenly a couple of 5 Star reviews show up afterwards. I' whomever posted 5 star reviews was a relative or a friend asked to post a positive review! Don't fall for it. Read the bad reviews how similar what everyone complained about

These accountants were an unfortunate mixture of unprofessional, inept and in the case of Brad…read moreFilmanowicz, downright verbally abusive. I tried to fire them politely because I had been dissatisfied with their work and was paying them a good amount of money for seemingly little return. Instead of a professional acceptance of the very brief and not at all critical email I sent to discontinue our contract, I got an email full of vitriol and bitterness threatening to sue me for nonpayment of fees. This was a bit of a shock to me, since I had had their payments on AUTOPAY with direct deposit for years. If they had done their job, there wouldn't be an issue. They literally had access to all of my accountants. The email was so shocking in tone and wording that I emailed another accountant there, Troy, with whom I hadn't previously had a problem and advised that Brad seemed to be a little unhinged and possibly emotionally unstable. Very concerning behavior, and something you would expect from an irritable teenager, not the seasoned adult that appears in the picture on their website. I have been meaning to discontinue their "services" such as they were for some time. Brad had started his verbally abusive emails back in the winter, but I assumed he was stressed with tax season coming up and hoped it was a transient fluke. His response to my decision to discontinue working with the firm was over the top. I'm looking into reporting to a professional regulatory board. Troy's response to Brad's behavior was very disappointing. Despite my request for Brad to never contact me again, he sent me a fax message. I'm hoping I don't need a no contact order for this firm. Stay FAR FAR AWAY from this firm.

This year's taxes had a glitch on my part with a late k1 for some unknown reason ( never had an issue like this in 35 years ) but Tim was absolutely fantastic and patient with me asking so many questions. I was concerned because it was a big change for me and dentists (me) are not always great with change. We are creatures of habit. Add to the fact that I'm officially retiring this year and I wanted to make sure my taxes were taken care of. Looking back , Tim had our backs the whole time and assured us he would get things filed once we got this k1 and that's EXACTLY what he and his team did for us. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. If you need a team that will get the job done , look no further. I look forward to a long relationship with him like I did with our last accounting team. Thank you guys. Look no further if you want a professional who gets the job done , just call Tim ! Wish I could have given more than 5 stars .

I've been a customer of M J Vandenbroucke's for years, and have always experienced excellent customer service. I had a relatively complex return this year and it was completed in just a couple days. As a consultant, I had income in multiple states, each of which required a separate return. Not only was the service quick, but the team at M J Vandenbroucke took care of all of the paperwork, and returned it to me with dummy-proof instructions on how to finish processing. I highly recommend M J Vandenbroucke to anyone, particularly those looking to take the stress out of tax season.
