Love flying delta. Crew is always pleasant. Flights are always on time. They have started giving away snacks and drinks. They thanked the passengers for flying with them.

This review is for our recent Delta Air Lines flights (two round trips) into and out of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). In short, these trips were fine. I checked prices using kayak.com and booked using delta.com. I flew with my fiancee. For all flights, our seats were assigned at the gate. In all cases, Delta automatically seated us next to each other. We flew coach so we always got one middle seat and one window or aisle seat. On one or two flights, we got the exit row, which was nice. I remember at least one of our flights was on a McDonnell Douglas MD-90. For one of the flights, we boarded and sat at the gate in Atlanta for about an hour. This didn't bother me since we weren't in a rush. I just watched Pet Sematary (2019) on my laptop. We flew out of and into Atlanta. Our first round trip, arriving on a Friday and departing on a Monday, booked about three months out, cost $303.60 per person. Our second round trip, arriving on a Saturday and departing the following Sunday (quick turnaround), booked about two months out, cost $360.60 per person. Same season. Delta-estimated flight times were anywhere from 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 9 minutes. In actuality, I think one or more of the flights was slightly under 1 hour 50 minutes (in pure flight time). On a flight into Atlanta, we were one of the last ones to board, so we had to check our roller bags at the gate (free). Unlike some gate checks where you can pick up your bag at the gate at the destination (usually, on smaller jets), this particular check meant we had to pick up our bags at baggage claim in Atlanta. The Delta app was useful in helping us keep track of our checked bags, letting us know the bag tag numbers and which baggage claim carousel in Atlanta to go to. The app also notified us when our bags were available for pick-up. The Delta app gives you a bit of information about your flight including statistics such as the percentage of time your flight is on time. One of our flights had a historical on-time rate of 97%. Our in-flight experiences were fine. No complaints. Each flight included a free drink and and a snack. The snack was a choice of a small bag of Cheez-Its, a single pack of those popular Biscoff cookies (my dad likes to buy boxes of them from Costco), a KIND bar, or almonds (I forget the brand, but it was one of those well-known brands). Not all the snacks I listed were available on every flight, but there were at least two choices on every flight. We flew into and out of gates D12 and D14. Getting through TSA PreCheck at PHL Terminal D was super fast. https://www.yelp.com/biz/tsa-checkpoint-d-philadelphia-international-airport-philadelphia

JetBlue has my heart for now, but Delta treats you mostly like a human, too. One of my biggest fears is being separated from my carry-on bag. I almost had a mini-panic attack when they told me I'd have to valet my bag. I was reassured to learn valet just means they take it at the jet bridge, put it under the plane and then give it right back to you when you land. I told the lady they were much nicer than American Airlines. She said thank you and didn't even take the jab at her competitor. I did think it was absurd that they handed out peanuts in this day and age. Delta usually doesn't travel where I go and is not the lowest price point, but I won't fear to use them again.

Take Delta from Philadelphia to Cancun lay over at Atlanta On our way to Atlanta they ask to pay $2 for earphones which I'm okay with that, but all the other flight from Atlanta to Cancun and coming back they didn't ask for money. On our way back to Philadelphia, first they don't have seat for us, we book the flight months ago. Finally they sat us all the way back next to bathroom. The bathroom smell so bad and I don't think they even clean it, the seat that I have all the wall have spilled on in. Worst part is when we landing for a minute I thought we crashed the landing so hard until the bathroom door wide open. The pilot or attending didn't said anything maybe it happens all the time? I never experience like this before

Great customer service. I was traveling with my friend and infant. The gate staff were very helpful in doing a complimentary check in of our carry on luggage and guided us through boarding and stroller check in. Travel can be stressful with an infant and they made it much more manageable.

There really are not as many options as there were before Airtran was absorbed by southwest, but I'll present my case for JetBlue has become the "best" airline, contingent on these two destinations. I wouldn't try jetblue with a US connection, because it seems far too many of their itineraries have ineffective routing (such as via Boston to go south and west) and not competitive pricing results. However, for their directs, as well as their sensible Caribbean destinations via FLL (from either PHL or BOS or JFK, mostly), you can often get a competitive fare that beats or meets all of the other airlines (both of them!) The 1 bag fee for you and your whole party on same itin can be avoided by paying $99 a year for their premium credit card, or else if you insist on paying a la carte, it's $15 to $23 if planned in advance, $35 for a walk-up (as of this writing). Other airlines don't tend to feature advanced booking bag fee discounts such as this, and I think it's a great incentive. I also think the credit card elimination of bag fees is the way to go because every time my family flies one way, this perk pays for itself. The credit card holder also gets half off in flight purchases, which means $3.50 drinks and $3.50 cheese plates. Prices you can't find anywhere else in the sky, and the drink choices are exceptional, not simply the watered down selection of brands too often given on other carriers. ALL of their planes feature free in flight wifi and TV and satellite radio options (www.flyfi.com). Now for a review involving the crew and employees. These are some very helpful and friendly individuals. The culture of JetBlue seems very customer satisfaction oriented.

Upon speaking with a supervisor (escalation team), they claimed it was because the partner airline did not confirm on their end. Funny, because I was already booking the seats with the partner airline when Jet Blue did this to me. I had the partner airline investigate, and they said it was indeed confirmed. I have screenshots of my booking with them before Jet Blue canceled it, so I can prove it. They refuse to accept this. They intentionally canceled my booking to extort more money out of me based on an absolute lie. There is plenty of proof my booking had been confirmed, but they are doubling down in their stance to claim that booking never happened. I'll never get these hours of my life back I wasted trying to talk to them. Never again.

I highly recommend everyone to trust this company for all your special travel needs. My then fiancé, now husband, and I contacted Peter to help us arrange our wedding ceremony and mini honeymoon in Iceland. I was seriously so confused with all the rules and red tape involved with getting married there. It is definitely not as easy as people make it seem in the blogs! Thankfully, Peter had my back! He works with a fantastic company in Iceland called Nordic Visitor. I can't tell you how pleased we were with both companies. They made every day there so special! We were picked up promptly in Iceland by our super nice driver Aleksander. He had a beautiful Mercedes waiting to take us to Hotel 101 in downtown Reykjavik. We were even able to check in way early. The hotel was insanely nice and the customer service was even better! A couple days we would come back from our adventures and find chocolate covered strawberries and complimentary champagne waiting for us! Every adventure we had planned went off without a hitch. Every driver was promptly on time, waiting for us in our lobby. We even got to squeeze in some snowmobile action after the golden circle tour thanks to our awesome driver that pulled some strings! I really enjoy this airport. I can't speak for every terminal, but I've visited for Southwest and more recently the American Airlines Terminal B. It was DENSE with shops and food. Clean, nice. Really helpful, friendly staff at the information booth and shops that I visited. I like the way you move around here. Arrivals up top, departures at the bottom, and then departure ground transportation divided between the an inner and outer ring for the various shuttles and bus services. (I had to ask to figure out where to stand, but I liked the layout once I got it.) And the SEPTA comes right up to the terminal. I've gone in and out of here a variety of ways and have been impressed in my experience with the ease for such a large airport. And yeah, plenty of places to eat and shop once you get inside.

The bad experience was, as I was going to the Terminal E location at Philly Airport, a disembarking staff was doing a scripted conversation with a coworker in which he did most of the talking to her, but appeared to be addressing something very loudly about me: the fact that because I was transgender, there was no bathroom I could use in a conservative place like Arizona. Otherwise, the assigned seats seemed to work in my favor, in that I didn't suffer harassment from people in nearby seats, and the flights were relatively quiet. I actually ended up having the same crew for my second flight, and although the one attendant was naturally a loud talker, the other attendant was really sweet and got me extra tomato juice. On the way back to Philly a few weeks later, I was able to ask for seconds on the Oreo cookies and got two packs. One of the people in front of me was smart to ask for a whole can of tomato juice when they were doing complimentary beverages, because it's the same as the Bloody Mary mix used to mix with alcohol, but not many people in economy have alcohol, and not many people like straight tomato juice. I think I will make a custom of trying to get a whole can of tomato juice, and seeing if there are seconds on juice, too. The second round of drinks for a long flight is water, and the third round is coffee (I disembarked in Philly at about 1:45am, because the flight was delayed from 11:55pm. However, the landing wasn't quite as stacked or rushed as usual, and I kept up my tradition of using the mapping app for the flight, observing how far we'd go into New Jersey before coming about again).

Well. No more. Now operating under the thumb of a hedge fund (Elliott Investment Management) free bags will soon go the way of assigned seats all tethered to a wildly degraded frequent flyer program. So, the only question remaining is "what's the point?" Southwest Airlines is now an airline only a hedge fund could love. Wither the contrarian. Two basic stars.
