Now I take it back and forth to work every day, as I have been for over 16 years. Unlike SEPTA in Philadelphia which is frequently problem-prone and at times a downright nasty commuting experience, PATCO is quick, pleasant, reliable and rarely are there problems or delays. Even with the current track rehabilitation project which is a huge, extensive ordeal, PATCO has managed to keep the trains running, albeit on an altered schedule, and kept riders well-informed of scheduling changes. Also, I love the upgrades they are currently doing to the cars - overhauling the interiors completely. I will say, though, that there's a part of me that is sad to see the ugly 1969 olive green and gold interiors go. PATCO staff are courteous and helpful and most of the riders are well-behaved. This has especially improved with the introduction of the "quiet car" a couple of years ago (the last car on the train during morning and evening rush hour), which provides a library-like ride for those passengers like me who prefer a peaceful, zen-like ride to 15 minutes of listening to people yell into their cell phones. I flew out to Philadelphia for a layover just over a week ago where I was flying American Airlines…read more I typically find myself flying into B or C gates and then needing to get over to the F gates (or in reverse). For the second time in two years, I was stranded in Philadelphia overnight and needed to leave the airport and stay at a nearby hotel. Fortunately, most of my experiences at the airport have been good. After all, the slogan of the Philadelphia International Airport is "Good things start here." Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like CLEAR, Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check, airport lounge membership, and airline status, most of which I was able to enjoy during my PHL visits. When checking in (during my rare travels where I start a journey in Philadelphia), I am typically able to skip the check-in area if I didn't need to check bags (as I checked in online) on one of my trips. This time, my bag was already checked in from the day prior, and so I headed to the C gates only to learn that due to the challenges with TSA staffing, the C gates were closed. I then went to the B gates and saw a very long line with no TSA Pre-Check or line to skip Security. Rather, I walked over to the A gates (one was open and one was closed) and found TSA Pre-Check there along with the new TSA Pre-Check Touchless. I already had it activated, and while the regular TSA Pre-Check line had about 7 or 8 people in line, there was no one in the Touchless line. I walked right up and without taking out my boarding pass or any ID, the TSA agent asked for my image and said my name and waved me through. It took less than a minute to walk through which was incredible! It's nice when a stressful place at an airport like Security is not stressful at all and easy to navigate. I certainly think PHL is onto something even though the other Security areas at the other terminals and concourses may be a big more hectic. All in all, it's a great airport and one I do not have an issue with a layover here and there.

While it is a hop on hop off experience, we noticed that when we hopped off it took about an hour to find another bus, so we decided to just stay on and plan on visiting the spots on our own next time. We had Nick on our bus as the guide and he was great! He explained a lot about the history of the city and was also very funny!

I didn't realize when I booked that the room was on the third floor, so for those with mobility concerns, it might be worth requesting a room on a lower level. Everything I needed was readily available, and it was clear that if I had needed anything else, it would've been just a quick phone call away. The service was excellent, the price was very reasonable, and the location was ideal--especially for attending graduation weekend at UPenn. Breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning--a great way to start the day. On my next visit, I'm looking forward to spending more time enjoying the beautiful outdoor spaces on the property. I'm already thinking about my return!

Get off at this stop if you're visiting Market East, City Hall, or Old City. It's not my preferred…read morestop but it is often the most convenient when visiting from New Jersey. You can also link to the Broad Street Spur or the El here. If you're out late at night on a weekend, you can expect massive crowds. I can't begin to tell you how many times drunken people heading back across the bridge have casually walked into me without apology while I waited for the train. For this reason, I prefer the other stations -- in particular 15/16 and Locust -- much more. Otherwise, this spot is decent. I'm glad it exists, but I wish it could undergo a remodel. It needs one desperately.

My pick from my home was at 7am. Tammy picked us up on time at 7am in a bus. I requested a limo. I'll let that go. We went off on our cruise. On Friday I found out our ship was delayed due to the storm. We would not dock at 8am instead we would dock at 2pm. The concierge at the Haven called the Ron Borden first time he left a message. Second time with my guest in front of him, got hold of Ron. He let him know would need to change the arrival time to 3:30pm fir the 8th. Sunday around 1 I get a call from Ron while still in the harbor. He had me booked for a car to be there Saturday. Not Sunday. He sent someone there Saturday. So I told him well that's not what I booked when I spoke to your office. He proceeded to let me know this was not his office's fault it was mine and they dont made mistakes. Well now I have to pay an extra 150 to have them get to us. We had no way home if we didn't pay it. So he told me he would be at the port by 6pm. We got off the ship at 330pm and waited. He didn't arrive at the port till 730 pm. I will not recommend a company that tells there clients they are liers. I've used this company 2 times before both to the port in NY. After calling us and the ship concierge liars and charging us more for their mistake, they then left us waiting at port for an additional 5 hours to be picked up. This company needs all new management, including the owner. It was probably the worst customer service and business practices I have ever witnessed. The discount is not worth it. I'd rather pay more for better service. Hire them at your own risk. You've been warned.
