Most recent experience with Delta Airlines was very poor. Their policy of purchasing a ticket just to get through security and see off people at gate is abysmal. You're getting money so you have no excuse. Do better. Thanks to your ticket counter staff, didn't get to see my loved ones off. Additionally. Flight back was delayed at least 3 hours with zero way to find out why if you weren't on the flight. Did end up relaxing on their sky lounge this trip and the one in Dallas is excellent. It had amazing food and service... also comfortable as heck. Flew from LAX - Dallas/Fort Wortg round-trip. The terminal was crowded so you know more people are out and about and ready to travel. My outbound flight was delayed 3 times for a total of 1 1/2 hours (if it wasn't for that, I'd have given 5 stars). The flight crew was welcoming as we boarded. Was served a beverage and given a choice of goldfish crackers or a Biscoff cookie and also given a warm chocolate chip cookie . Thought I was going to sleep during the flight but ended up watching part of a movie before I decided to play the games available on my screen. Before I knew it, we were landing in Dallas - YAY! Return flight back to LAX was great! It was day so I was able to look out the window and see the scenery when we weren't in the clouds. No turbulence so kudos to our pilots. Given the same drinks and snack as my previous flight. This time I did take a little nap since it was only a 2 1/2 flight. Great service Delta! Flight was good. Delta is the airline I use the majority of the time I fly out of DFW. It's my go to airline. My credit card get me into the sky club for free which dose not offer as much as the centurion lounge does , but it is less busy and more relaxing. It is almost back to pre Covid level . The HUB sky clubs do offer more. If I need help with my ticket it can be done at the sky club . That is what's really important to me .Gate agents have always been pleasant and treat passengers like humans. The Delta in flight experience is definitely one of the best for domestic carriers , regardless of the cabin you are traveling in . Every seat has their own TV with movies , shows , games and even live TV. The wi if actually works . They have also brought back alcoholic beverages for all cabins . The food has always been okay . It does taste better than it looks . I always have a pleasant experience on Delta . I really do feel everyone is trying really hard to get me to my destination on time and most important safe. Delta has lately fallen off their prominent track. Albeit weather conditions nationally have been chaotic this year, the amount of cancelations with no immediate assistance is appalling. What's worse is they seem to have stopped caring about accommodating passengers that they have placed in disadvantaged situations. Just recently I saw a family's flight canceled and the next flight wasn't until later the next day. There was no offer of hotel or voucher or shuttle service until the wife complained and only after 30 minutes of complaint. I had a flight canceled due to weather it was the last flight out of Charlotte to where I lived. The plane was canceled and it seemed I would have had to wait 11 hours until another flight. Again nothing by means of accommodation I was expected to sit in an airport for 11 hours. Luckily after the front desk rep wasn't assisting I waited on hold to the customer care line for 40 mins and was helped to book a connecting flight to another airport that had another flight to my destination. The young stewardess when asked if I could get into restroom rolled her eyes at me because I interrupted her texting I guess and then when serving drinks and snacks she asked the man next to my husband if he would like something to drink and he said yes please and she just glared and him and said ok what in a hateful voice . I Purchased a round-trip ticket for my grandson, who is 14 years old, and was told that he would not need to travel as an Unattended Minor. His reservation was linked to mine, and we travel round-trip from Nashville Tennessee to Denver Colorado. The trip was almost complete until the last leg, and then Delta changed the terms of the contract , and said he was in the an unattended minor. They threaten to take him off the flight. They changed his seat and I was forced to purchase $150 fee to cover him as an unattended minor. Delta has refused to reimburse the $150 on the Delta Sky Miles card that I am now going to close , because I want nothing to do with Delta. Delta has become all about the money and not customer service ! It's one fee after the other which just ends up being price gouging in my opinion. I have been a customer for over 15 years, but Delta has definitely gotten their last dollar from me. Do yourself a favor and use a different airline . My favorite airline. I always try to fly them when I have a choice. There biggest hub is in Atlanta but they have tons of flights going everywhere, including International. I don't recall ever having issues with service in a long time if ever. Flight attendants, gate folks, etc. The planes, even the smaller ones, all have a few upgrade options. First class as well as comfort, which is basically a larger seat. There's always food options on all the flights. Domestic flights, the extras cost money, but International are free. Domestic options usually have a sandwich, cheese plate, fruit, cookies, etc. read more

Delta is located in Terminal E at DFW and this makes it difficult to take the train into the city if you need to leave the secure area to claim your luggage. Terminal E is a decent one with a few shops and a few restaurants and there's also a really nice Sky Club here. I had two bags to check. The ticket agent was kind and polite and efficient, adding my yellow Sky Priority tags to the luggage. The ladies in the Sky Club were polite and efficient. And the gate agent who boarded my flight did a fine job. This is a good station for Delta! Good service. read more

NEVER fly Delta!!! Arrived at airport on time for 5:23 flight. At checkin, we are told the flight was delayed until 6:20. No explanation given. Our connecting flight to Dallas Love Field is at 9:34 PM There's no way we will make that. But we were told it was "alright" because our connecting flight was delayed too. We go through security and find the gate. Now the flight is delayed until 8:30. Our original time for connection was 9:34 PM We are re-booked on a flight at 10:47 PM. Our original departure/arrival location is Dallas Love Field, where the car is parked. But there are no more flights from Atalanta to Dallas Love Field, so we are re-booked on a flight to DFW airport 14 miles from our car. We produce our luggage barcode tags, but for some reason we are asked to describe our luggage. Are they going to send Larry, Moe and Curly into the luggage room to look for a black bag with a handle on top? Not reassuring. Plane finally boards around 8:05. We depart Hartford 3 hours late. The flight is accelerated and we arrive at the gate in Atlanta around 10:25 PM. We have 25 minutes to make our connecting flight to DFW. We are told that "a concourse has been requested, but it isn't coming for some reason." So we wait for the door to open. And wait. Finally allowed to de-board the plane. The connecting flight to DFW is two terminals away. We get on the sky lift and reach the terminal 10 minutes before scheduled departure. Since we rushed to make the connecting flight, there's no time for a bathroom break. We are allowed to board. While waiting in the concourse to board the plane, we hear other stories similar to this one. "Our flight was delayed two hours, and the one before was cancelled." Etc. Then we're told that there will be a 30 minute delay because the pilot has not yet arrived. The connecting flight departs 30 minutes late. On board, We are told that "the potable water isn't working, so there's no running water in the bathrooms" In other words, the toilets won't flush. We finally arrive at DFW, our final destination, around midnight . We rush down to the baggage area. But why? Of course, our luggage is still in Atlanta! The clerks record our barcode numbers, and for some reason, again ask for descriptions of the luggage. We are assured that it will be delivered to our houses tomorrow. Sometime. We explain that we were scheduled to land at Dallas Love Field but the airline re-booked us to DFW airport. We ask for a taxi voucher, but we might as well have been speaking a foreign language. We arrange for a Lyft to take us to Dallas Love Field where the car is parked. Arrive home at 1:30 AM. NEVER fly Delta!!! read more

Flight delayed 5 times and they blamed the local weather. Bullcrap the plane didn't even taken off from Detroit when they were blaming the local conditions at JFK for the delay. Compensation for us? Of course not. When leaving the flight, a passenger took my bag. The flight attendant tried to shift the blame to me, then told me to really to the gate staff. The gate staff had no idea what to do. I went to baggage claim, which, mind you, once I'm there I can't get back into the gate so that's screwing me over and had to without any help or direction, find the baggage agent and ask them to make an announcement. She insisted three times my plane hadn't even landed yet until I got my boarding pass out. Fortunately some drunk passenger discovered he had my bag, but there was incompetence and less than zero help the entire way from Delta staff. read more

Was booked on an 11am flight out of DFW to connect in Atlanta en route to PVD with an expected landing time of 5:50pm. Arrived AT THE GATE at 9:45, when boarding started at 10:25am, the gate attendant skipped the last cabin and the all cabins call and assigned multiple confirmed tickets to standby passengers, including my own. Flight had to be rebooked for 3:25pm, through Detroit, and ultimately landed at 11:15pm in PVD. Gate attendant blamed me and other passengers in our cabin for her mistake, and I had to jump through HOURS of hoops to get in touch with customer care representative. I thought a free flight back to DFW would be suitable compensation. After 3 hours on the phone, was told that no compensation would be given, then I would receive $100 in vouchers for mix up, which is unacceptable. After speaking with yet another supervisor and spending another half hour on hold, was told that they would compensate me with 10k skymiles for the aggravation. Seemed reasonable for the amount of ridiculousness I had just gone through. Come to find out, 10k skymiles is the equivalent to around $100. This airline and their customer service is absolute trash and would honestly ride Spirit with a leaking toilet if given a choice between the two. Zero accountability from ALL service agents involved. I flew on Delta Airlines from San Antonio to Greenville on 07/21/19. The change in Atlanta was the WORST experience ever while traveling. The flight was delayed and I was traveling with a minor. I was instructed to request seating for us at the gate. Well..I arrived and the agents were finishing paperwork for a flight that had just left. I went to the counter and before I could say anything the agent says "you can have a seat. We are finishing the previous flight." Then, I was ignored. I watched a long list of people get the same treatment. (Can you believe it?) The time to board is approaching and the agent announces HE HAS made the seat assignments for passengers. You will get it when you board. And, exactly how do we know when to board? I approach again and tell them I am traveling with a minor and would have preferred seats together. He asks for my name and says "I think I have you together." (Dismissed me.) Time to board and the seats are together. Imagine my shock when I see they have placed a CHILD in the Emergency Exit row! It goes further....The flight attendant stopped to give us the special chat on how to handle the door. Yep- the kid too! Am I crazy? read more

Delta Airlines overall needs to be reorganized. My flight started in Frankfurt, Germany with two hour layover in Detroit, Michigan, then final destination Dallas-Fort Worth. We were very first to check-in in Frankfurt. At checking in, were informed of 4 hour flight delay because of medical emergency on inbound flight and plane had to make emergency landing. I as a human can understand. Then I was informed had to pay extra for baggage because of new changes after tickets were purchased. Employee in Frankfurt was very rude because my German are not like hers. I have lived and worked in Germany over twenty years. My son then spoke German to her. Her attitude change a little but still could not explain why I had to pay 298 Euros for luggage. Original flight plan was to leave Frankfurt at 10:40 am Germany time and arrive 5:41 pm Texas time. While waiting I received an email from Delta informing me that my flight plans were changed and my son's flight plans weren't. I to fly to Atlanta, Georgia and get hotel for a night, and my son to fly to DFW four hours later. I called Delta hotline: first person refused to explain why and it was not his problem. After 30 minutes of calming down; I called the exact same hotline number and received excellent help; lady fro Delta was excellent and professional. She did her best to keep my son and I together. Now fly to Detroit, get hotel room overnight at Delta expense. Arrived in Detroit, collected expensive luggage from Germany, went to customer service desk and explained the changes. Now sent to another part of airport and repeated same story again. After an hour, finally got hotel and meal voucher for overnight stay in Detroit.(dream comes true) Hotel was a roach infected hotel, and bed in room broken. Staff refused to give us another room until I raised hell. I am a very quiet and understanding person. Hotel restaurant closed on Sundays. Had to order pizza to eat. Next morning arrived at Detroit airport at 5:30 am for 7 am flight to Atlanta. Checked in: my son had seat assignment, I was then informed I am on standby and need to wait for seat assignment. Plane was fully booked but got seat in very last row. In Atlanta, son had seat, I again on standby. No explanation as to why. I purchased both airline tickets on same day, same time, same credit card. Original flight plan: Frankfurt, Germany departure time July 31, 10:40 am Germany time - arrival time July 31, 5:41 pm Texas time. Finally, we arrived in DFW on August 1 at 11:26 am Texas time. All Delta Airline employees were very professional, helpful and friendly in Detroit and Atlanta, except for staff in Germany and boarding gate in Detroit, (all were middle-aged white ladies). I hate flying so I avoid it if at all possible. However my most recent trip was work related and at the last minute and too far to drive. DFW to Cincinnati. My manager setup everything and all I had to do was show up, so I did. I got there early but that's just me and got checked in and was told what gate to go to, so I did. I sat there and after a little bit an agent came and opened the terminal where I was told to wait and announced the the flight to a different state was getting ready to load. I go up to her and ask if I am at the wrong gate and it turns out the Delta had been moving flights around all day and my flight had been moved to the next terminal over. I move over to the next terminal and sat down to wait for it to start loading and after a short wait an agent shows up to open the terminal. He gets on the mic and in the nicest possible voice tells everyone if they look out the window they will see that Delta pulled out one of their smallest planes just for us. I'm 6'4 and they wedged my butt in a tiny little plane. Not comfortable. There went one star. The flight was smooth, the attendants friendly, we left on time and arrived on time, so all is well there. Several days later I have to come back. I get an awesome seat or so I thought. I had lots of leg room. Enough that I could completely stretch my legs out. The problem is that the seat they put me in was even smaller that the seat on my first flight. The sides of the seat were pressed against the side of my legs so tightly that if the plane went inverted I had no worries of falling out. After about 10 minutes my hips and legs go numb and it was a 2 hour flight. Oh and the little air nozzles above out seat did not work so it got a little warm after a while. There goes the second star. The flight was smooth, the attendants friendly, we left on time and arrived on time, so all is well there. I'm home now, tired and sore and hoping I never have to fly again. If you shop at the big and tall, do not fly Delta. If you can see over people when they stand in front of you. Do not fly Delta. If you describe your self as petite or vertically challenged you are golden. Go for it. read more

I purchased two tickets in November, 2021 for clients, who are a husband and wife team to accompany me to our corporate facilities in Wisconsin for a plant tour and to attend a Green Bay Packers football game. Three days prior to our departure, one of them was diagnosed with Covid, so they backed out and I immediately canceled their flights. A couple of days ago, I attempted to use part par of the "e-credit" to reserve a ticket for myself for a trip. I was told by Delta that even though I paid for the tickets, only the people's names that were on the original ones can redeem them. That is totally ridiculous, self serving, greedy and just plain chickens#!+. Last time I fly on Delta. I became very ill Dec 29 and had to cancel all plans. I had booked this trip via Priceline and was told I wouldn't get a refund on my flight because I didn't purchase insurance and because I went through a 3rd party website. Very disappointed in our flight today. Rode in a very old plane from JFK to DFW. Our seats were 3 rows from the back and that's where the heat comes from when they turn it on. It was so hot. A guy in our row mentioned twice to the flight attendant that it was hot. After the second time, she just replied that it was freezing in the front of the plane. It was 30 degrees in NYC, everyone on the plane had jackets and first class got blanket...but we had to sit for over 2 hours and sweat. First class gets anything at everyone else's expense. It maybe would have been okay if our little air vents above our heads worked. No air. Other ppl in back rows wrestled with their vents hoping for any cool stream of relief. Not sure how, but our window was installed upside down. So instead of opening it from the bottom and pulling up, it was opposite. Had to really shut it tight to avoid it from falling open in mid sleep. That all said, will NOT be flying Delta again. read more
