This is actually a review for Shonnard's Landscape Services not the retail shop…read more I am actually not a customer of Shonnard's Landscape Services, but I saw something the other day that made me want to send this review. These are professionals. I was driving along Crystal Lake Drive, and a crew from Shonnards was doing some maintenance. I observed their crew using a power blower to blow debris BACK INTO THE BEDS instead of blowing debris farther into the street like so many other landscape maintenance folks seem to do. Often the mow-blow-go guys just blow all the clippings into the street even though it violates city code and is just obnoxious. I'm going to refrain from naming names of other landscape service providers that do this, but maybe I'll write some reviews soon and call 'em out on it if they don't stop. I've even seen downtown businesses blowing leaves into the street. Shame on them. If I needed some landscape maintenance services, I would call up Shonnard's just for this one thing I observed because it shows they care. Thank you Shonnard's!

Jeff the owner is super knowledgeable about anything horticultural and really has an amazing selection. I do gardening professionally and I know a good nursery. My kids have had a great time there in the succulent section and I love the edibles. All I can say is support this amazing local institution for plant sales or landscape construction and maintenance because we need them!! Thanks to all the kind staff too!

They carted everything in by hand, and were very methodical in the way they installed the new wall with drainage to match the design exactly of our current brick work. These guys were careful not to destroy our yard, cleaned up with hoses after each day, and asked for feedback along the way, in case tweaks were needed.

We were spending the night locally on a trip up the west coast, and our Airbnb host suggested Inkwell as a good place to purchase gifts. They were absolutely right. There were plenty of staff around; I received numerous offers of help, and the cashier who helped us was really nice and welcomed us to their town. The options for gifts were plentiful, with everything from purses to candles to preserves to clothing to dishes and fun kitchen gadgets. (The shop is attached to a furniture store that looked beautiful, but we didn't spend time there.) They also sold local postcards, greeting cards, and other Oregon-themed gifts. We purchased a beautiful blown-glass Christmas ornament for ourselves and numerous small gifts for my parents. The prices were what I would have expected -- not cheap, but the items were nice and well-made, and the prices felt fair for what we purchased. I highly recommend this shop.

As many of you know, furniture is a long-term investment, and the shopping experience should come with attentive, knowledgeable staff who help guide you through that process. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt more observed than welcomed. One employee made eye contact and immediately turned away, and as we continued browsing--essentially left to "prospect" on our own--there was little effort to engage or assist us. On our way out, another staff member offered a brief hello but never followed up to ask if we needed help. When you're making a significant purchase like furniture, customer service matters just as much as the product. Sadly, this visit left us feeling overlooked rather than valued. We later found our couch at another location and will receive it in 30 to 60 days due to the customization we requested. We are happy to have found a place that truly understood what we were looking for our home.

An employee was called to assist with cutting 3 simple 1x1.5in boards and was very snarky about it…read morefrom the beginning as if I had caused such an interruption in her day. She kept repeating that she could only cut feet off, which I repeatedly told her that I understood, and after unreasonable attitude from this employee, I asked where the handsaws would be in the store to purchase. Before informing, she repeated that she thought that hand sawing my rather thin boards was a BAD idea and would take a very long time--to which I replied that I had time. She kept repeating her opinion again and again before leading to an in-store handsaw station and recommending that I actually just buy completely different boards so that they didn't need to be cut. I told her that I already had the boards in hand which I DID WANT and she told me again that she could only cut off feet. I was tired of this interaction and just had her cut off a 1-foot section from two boards, and 2 feet from another. Only one of the 1-footers was actually 12 inches, the other was 30cm. I ended up purchasing my own hand saw for remaining cuts. My visit was otherwise fine, but I see no reason for this employee to give such attitude and snark to customer simply asking for boards to be cut--a service which Home Depot is supposed to provide with ease. The employee was a dark-haired woman with a ponytail... slightly older. The handsaw I purchase works great! A fantastic item to own so that I don't disrupt any more Home Depot employees by asking them to cut wood.

My review is for customer service mainly. I brought a saw in that needed work. They said it would…read morebe done on a Tuesday. They hadn't even called by several days later. I went in to check. He whined about some minor reason he couldn't work on it. Threw it on the counter and said he wouldn't work on it because the starter rope had some issue. Total jerk about it. I started it up right in front of him and tried to explain the problem but they were very dismissive. The old lady who runs the desk was like "It sounds fine to me." And I explained that I clearly know it's not running right. Has no power, whereas when I first purchased it it worked awesome. It was the owner, an older gentleman with white hair who was the biggest jerk. The whole experience was very negative. Find somewhere else to go if you want better customer service.
