A bartender named Noe was rude. I noticed he was throwing away my buddy beer and his response was when I told him why you're taking it. He said I'm I babysitting my buddies beer. I told him you just got it for us. Why are you throwing it away he also throw away one of my beers before I finished it, but I didn't complain at that time. So watch what the bartenders do there . This is a weird spot for me. We came in one night, hearing it was "the cool place in town" to be confronted with an 80s apocalypse. It is top to bottom, front to back 80s. Like someone took all the 80s stuff and put it in this place to store... and then someone turned it into a bar. So it's actually pretty rad, if overstimulating. You can play OG nintendo here, gaze upon the glowing face of madonna splashed on the walls or ogle the hot 80s studs on posters in the bathroom. It's also a place that I think will get trashed really quickly if the valley has anything to do with hit. Regardless, it's at least different and not another restaurant/bar that people seem to favor in McA. I'd take Deloreans over chilis or Buffalo wild wings any day. The drink prices are steep -- especially for what you're receiving, it's really loud and when I was in there, it magically became club delorean at some point, with people packed in like sardines and dancing. It's worth a couple of visits but I think it would get really really old after a while. read more

My niece treated me to a night out and DeLorean was one of our stops. The age group ranges from mid-20's to 60's so don't let age stop you. Thank God we got here early before the sardine press began. The 80's were my party years and I was excited to compare DeLorean to what I lived through. We were so early but as usual EVERY booth had a reserved sign and the few bar stools were occupied. Luckily, we grabbed a table on the patio which turned out to be fine with access to the bar. Sure, a dance floor is required but a few tall top cocktail tables spread around would benefit the dancers and their drinks. The decor is entertaining with a great checkered dance floor, neon lights, posters and mural of the top 5 things popular in the 80's. Chuck Norris, Matthew Broderick, Prince, Michael J. Fox in Back To The Future & a Flux Capacito behind the bar, Madonna, and even Nintendo video games for the hard core flashback. "A" for effort on decor. Early on, the music started with the Classic 80's and bounced around from Classic with Hip-Hop tossed in but regardless stayed with 80's dance music. If you can find your way indoors it's cool to watch the music video playing on the large screen with the song. The drink prices were reasonable but I didn't drink so I can only pass along what I was told. All-in-All, it was fun for awhile at DeLorean but honestly I had a better time next door at the Cigar Bar. Their music was good, (more current than the 80's) we actually had a table and chairs with an excellent server at the Cigar Bar. We could drink, sing, talk to friends, all while sitting at a table with the entire group. DeLorean was fun for a few visits but wouldn't be my go to bar. read more

Love this place. The decor is all 80s with murals of stuff like Back to the Future and pac man. They even have an authentic looking flux capacitor behind the bar. The music, of course, is all 80s, (with a random newer song sneaking in sometimes). They tend to play the videos of most these songs and that can be more entertaining than you think. A few of the tables even have tvs with an original nintendo game to play. Very cool. Tends to get pretty packed on weekends. Not too sure about drink specials, but the beers are decently priced. The mixed drinks can vary in strength depending on bar tender and I suppose are regularly priced. Usually attracts a mixed age crowd and you can always see pretty women in groups here. An actual place in the valley where you can dance and dance and have so much fun! A lot of people dance like no one is watching. Oh HELL YES! I'm from Miami, born & raised. We have some of the best clubs in the country, but Miami can keep them. I'd take Deloreans in McAllen any freaking day of the week! The closest my fiancé & I got to ever going to an 80's club was 80's night at Passions at Hard Rock Hotel in Miami. It's only once a year but we always look forward to it. Now, since moving to Texas, I'm able to have 80's night all the time. The music is awesome. Nothing but great classic 80's tunes. Theres even a big screen that plays the music videos to the songs that are playing. There's a classic NES at every booth. The walls are covered in 80's images. They even have a flux capacitor behind the bar. Why not 5 stars? Well there could be more seating. Only a few booths & not many stools at the bar. The drinks weren't very strong. I had quite a bit to drink & barely got a buzz. These things don't bother me much though. The music & vibe is so awesome, I don't need a buzz to get up & dance the night away. It sucks that there are so many chain restaurants/bars and not many locally owned bars or pool halls. I wanted to play darts for my birthday and couldn't find anywhere to go. Thanks for any info. This place is a blast from the past. I love the 80s and the music videos are cool too. Make sure you get there early to get a good spot to party. The place does get crowded quickly. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely come here. Had a great time. Totally recommend. The only negative are the women bathrooms. read more

Place was very nice, great music. We were a group of 12 celebrating a birthday, having so much fun until a security guy (girl) not sure, ruined our party. Was very rude and grabbed my brother (the most pacific guy on earth) by his shirt and kicked him out. He said "he elbowed me" which was not true. But, unfortunately, these "security" guys think they have power and can do whatever they want. Should have talked to manager but everyone in our party just left. This place really sucks for a few reasons. The rented cops walk around like nazis flashing flashlights in everyone's face and act totally unprofessional. If you start a tab at the bar it's a $20 minimum or they won't let you cash out. The bartenders are pretty good. read more

Pretty awesome place. The music flowed so smoothly I didn't even realize there was a DJ. He's not yelling at the crowd for attention just playing some awesome 80s Hits. It's great! I have never had a bad time here. If you're looking to dance the night away at 1.21 Gigawatts, and keep your bar tab reasonable, this is the place for you. They also have an outdoor patio with access to the main bar, making it easy to order and often times you can get served faster. read more

I freaking love this place! Did you grow up in the 80s/90s...then this place will bring back your childhood. You will be singing at the top of your lungs to the tunes being pumped out by the djs/vjs. The 80s music videos and the 80s decor of the place get you in that silly 80s mood. As "Far Out" as this place is, it is pretty radical that it is constantly packed on the weekends. My friends from out of state love this place! Very few places in the country built like this place in the country. McAllen sure does have a gem with Delorean's and let's just hope it is here to stay. Must say I had a ton of fun here. For a second I felt like they just put the sountrack of the scarface movie all in laughs tho lol.....I had a blast with friends and the beer was not very expensive. I went into this place not expecting very much. I had read reviews that said the drinks weren't very strong and saw that it was located in a depressing strip mall. Nevertheless, I had so much fun that night. The 80s decor was a little cheesy (so is the name, then again) but the music was spot on. I was expecting your typical Madonna and Michael Jackson hits but was pleasantly surprised to hear some rare dance tunes and plenty of Prince. I talked to the DJ after the bar closed and he told me that they play more pop/hip hop 80s on Saturdays (which is when I went) and more new wave on Fridays. He randomly threw in Will Smith "Gettin Jiggy With It" when the lights turned on at 2 am but that was actually fun to dance to in my drunken state. The crowd was mixed in age and the dance floor was pretty packed. The drinks, by the way, were perfectly strong and CHEAP. My boyfriend and I ordered 6 drinks between us and our tab was only $18.
