Dr. Neeru is a highly accomplished surgeon who has an excellent surgical team. I had cataracts…read moreremoved from both eyes. The procedures were well explained as was the after care. Dr. Neeru is sensitive to the fact that cataract surgery is a frightening experience for a new patient and she put me at ease. I highly recommend her for cataract surgery or as a consult.

One star is even too much for this rating. I have seen Dr. Neeru Dua for four years. She is unfriendly, doesn't explain things well, is very defensive, takes no interest in her patients.and I don't trust her judgment. I had to wait an hour for every appointment I had with Dr. Dua. When I was waiting and asked her staff why I had to wait, I was told that she wasn't even in the office yet and they don't know when she will be in. I scheduled an 8:00am appointment every time and recently discovered that her first appointment isn't until 8:30am. Two problems here...If she doesn't get in until 8:30am why did I have to wait an extra 30 minutes until roughly 9:00am? Second is there is ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. She told me she would have a firm talk with her staff and they shouldn't be making 8:00am appointments. I don't buy it. Instead of throwing your staff under the bus, how about apologizing and making it right for the patient. Second, Every time when she came in to the treatment room, she was on her computer for 15 minutes with her back to me looking at her notes and then she would ask me questions as if she has never seen me before. Never have I ever had a doctor who wasn't prepared for an appointment and experienced this before. GET TO KNOW YOUR PATIENTS, PRETEND THAT YOU CARE ABOUT THEM EVEN IF YOU DON'T AND BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS.

"And I will sing Waiting for the gift of sound and vision"…read more(David Bowie) One of the side effects of living in your town for almost 40 years is that your doctors eventually retire and you'll need to find a replacement. It happened with my primary care physician (as well as his replacement). It happened to my dentist. And it happened to my eye doctor. So that explains why in December 2015, I became a patient of Solinsky Eye Care when they took over my eye doctor's practice upon his retirement. Solinsky has ten locations across Connecticut, and I visit Dr. Jessica Olewnik at the Avon office. She has been fantastic to work with. She is friendly, personable, and extremely thorough and helpful. Solinsky is very proactive on keeping up with technology and industry advances. Did you have one of those field of vision exams? Just a few years ago, the current technology would have you stick your face into a contraption that reminded me of a submarine captain peering into a periscope, like Sean Connery did in "The Hunt for Red October". Well, that is no longer state of the art. Yesterday I had the same test using a Virtual Reality headset! And I have to mention Solinsky's Front Desk Associate (I'm embarrassed I can't remember her name) who may be the greatest goodwill ambassador I've ever seen in a medical setting. She's been there forever and is a holdover from Solinsky's predecessor.

They gave me an appointment for a week after I called. I arrived there at 7:30 am, Angela the Ophthalmic Nurse was very friendly, patient and sweet. She did some tests on my eyes, until the doctor arrived. Doctor Olewnik, confirmed I have dry eye. She prescribed me eyedrops, also gave me a sample of the same drops, so I could use them immediately, until my prescription arrived in the mail. My eyes have healed nicely, and are no longer watering. I'll be returning to Solinsky Eye Care for future eye care needs.
