First time here. Walked by many times as it is right next to my place of work. I went with classic California roll. My friend ordered tofu ramen as she is vegan. The restaurant itself is very small with minimal seating. Venue is clean, the guys working seemed to be stand-off-ish but maybe they were intimidated by my beauty? lol jk. You have to place your order through their touch screen. They have a decent amount of options to choose from and also have 'create your own' ramen/sushi option. They also have outdoor seating which is nice. The sushi tasted fresh and my friend enjoyed her ramen. She's been here a handful of times but this was her first time getting their ramen. I think it was $9.98 for one California roll, I ordered two. My friends ramen was $17 or something around that price range. I would come back to try their ramen and other sushi options they offer.

SunRise Sip

First time checking this place out and I got the Sunrise Sip drink (~6.95) and the Tropical Ocean Queen poke burrito (~13.99) I ordered online and arrived on time but my order took a bit longer and had to wait ~5-10 minutes more. The ambience was fine, and there was a decent amount of seating available as there weren't too many people when I went. Service was nice and polite as well. For my drink, the flavor was one-dimensional, basically just a mango popsicle taste which isn't necessarily bad but just to let yall know! I did have a big problem with the boba however, as the texture and flavor was inconsistent..Some of the boba was chewy and had a slight sweetness from the syrup, while some were on the harder side with no flavor whatsoever. As for the poke burrito, it was pretty solid!Decently sized and average price for a poke burrito around this area!

Edamame

Great stop if you are craving Asian food in the south waterfront area. They have a menu sitting outside the door you can flip through which was convenient. I ordered take out but the indoor seating area while a bit crammed looked cozy. There's a lot of outdoor spots too. The edamame was very flavorful and refreshing! The sweet sriracha roll was also delicious and had the perfect kick to it. In the picture you can see it was a pretty filling portion. I would totally get them both again! The service was nice though I'd recommend ordering beforehand since it can be a bit of a wait if you order at the front (took my meal around 30mins - though at least the quality is there!)

Salmon Poke Bowl, tuna green roll

WOW this place is beyond delicious. The fish was so fresh and the price unbeatable. Delish kitchen is a true gem and the owner is so so kind. I will definitely be coming back here on my next trip to Portland.

decided to give this place a try as it is in my neighborhood and was pleasantly impressed with the experience. my partner and i ordered the platter for 2, gyoza, and seared salmon. the food was delicious, with the seared salmon being my favorite. service was friendly and accommodating! only downside is that it was stuffy inside so we opted to eat outside!

We were happy to receive an email from our apartment company letting us know about this new location. Being new, it was packed. We decided to take our food to go. However, it looks great in there. The decor fits the restaurant's theme well. Every time we try a new Japanese place we order a Rainbow Roll and some Nigiri. It was all fresh and delicious. The fish was the perfect thickness. The rice to fish ratio was on point, too. Definitely recommend it. I had heard of cheese tea a while back. They have it here listed as Cheezi tea. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was delicious. It tasted like a wonderful, creamy, fruity frozen drink. It is quite sweet so keep that in mind if you order it. I'm grateful that we have this new restaurant in the area. Can't wait to try more of their food and drinks!

I really enjoy the Hawaiian style poke and sushi here, especially since it's right down the street. The flavors are booming and recommend the TNT Roll, lava bowl and poke bowl. That lava one is too small though! I need a bigger one because it's so damn delicious, pleeeease? The owners and employees are very kind and social. Definitely stop in and support this local place. Parking is easy too since there's so much of it in this neighborhood.

Milk was separating and it was flavorless

I don't know how this place has so many good reviews. We came for boba, also ordered a poke cup and veggie roll. Boba drinks didn't taste like anything, the girl who made them didn't know what was in it or what it might taste like. The milk was separating and it was flavorless. Boba was not the correct texture. While waiting for ours some guy with an to go order took one sip of his drink and threw the whole thing in the trash. It was today 8/1 about 4:30

Amazing ramen. Pork was so good and tender. Would definitely recommend. They definitely put their heart into their cooking.

Chicken Karakage

We went to the new food carts on Hawthorne. Got the karaage bowl and a salmon sushi bowl - so fricken good. The salmon tastes really fresh and the karaage was especially yummy ughhh. Also the people running the cart were super friendly and caring. I'll definitely be going back :) !

The place is small and cozy, i wouldn't go with a big group of more than 4 people. Got the pnw seafood combo tray, salmon poke cup, and a roll that i can't remember the name of.. everything tastes fresh and delicious! Poke was great and perfectly seasoned, small but worth the $8 price point. One of my only complaints was the pnw seafood combo took a bit to come out, 40 ish mins, understandably so, everything is baked. Came with mussels, a baked roll, and lobster. The lobster was a bit tough and dry- otherwise everything tasted great. There was also a sign to bus your own table, but nowhere to put it, we ended up just giving our plates to the person at the cash register which was directly behind our table (so i felt like it was pointless? Very small space) Friendly staff and good food.

Mushubi - very delicious!

The onigiri is art. And the service is always polite and professional. Always. I was physically at the restaurant the night these one star people were there. From what I could tell sitting at the bar and observing the ID in question, it looked fliiiimssy even from where I was sitting. I kinda get both sides ya know , sure one person in the group wants a drink w dinner but dude just tough it out and have your dinner. Instead they popped off and all started fussing and being entitled and it was just gross. I was enjoying a fantastic dinner but that table was like trying to take the stage. I think they ended up storming out and one girl like stomped off and said she was keeping her cup !! lol I worked in food a long time ago. And I've worked in cannabis under the watchful eye of the olcc so I'm on the servers side. Don't take chances and don't listen to these kids scramble for a secondary ID. Sketch. Go to obon. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere though interestingly located (the area you go through doesn't match the price point). When you are first seated, there is a small welcome drink which is nice. Our experience ended up taking about 3 hours in total and comprised of several courses of small bites. We were not able to snag countertop seating (though in hindsight, I am happier with how romantic it was so not a big deal). While it was a nice relaxed atmosphere, the experience and food itself was just OK. I did feel a little pressured throughout the meal to add on a beverage pairing (such as sake, wine, non-alcoholic beverages) and was asked at least 4 times even though we declined, which felt like a lot of pressure (that being said - the sake pairing pours looked generous from the tables around us). The bites sounded nice and in small quantities, were pleasant. However, I did not feel like any were truly stand out or amazing to match the price point of the meal. While I did enjoy that there was an attempt at a theme to put everything together, the dishes themselves did not wow me. Some of the presentation was fun/interesting, but some made me feel like I was straight out of a prank and was looking for a camera (sliced marinated tuna served in a "tin" can). We were unfortunately a little disappointed, but perhaps it is because of the high expectations we had.

I wanted to visit the last time I was in Portland but didn't have the opportunity. So I made it a point to visit on my trip and convinced my manager to come too. The cafe is so quaint and serene! As a Japanese cafe, it has lovely art, crafts, and antiques around. I loved the overall space and vibe. It's a nice place to work or hang out with friends, too. Plus, all the workers were kind and helpful, and the items came out quickly. When you enter, their counter offers a wide menu of food and drinks. It can be overwhelming, but in a good way! They have seasonal and traditional items. I got the Pumpkin Matcha Latte with Soy Milk, a Salmon Onigiri, and a Matcha Brownie. My manager got a drink, onigiri, and dessert as well. The matcha latte was yummy! It was creamy, more pumpkin-forward, sweet, with a hint of earthiness. The brownie was very dense and not like a typical brownie texture or consistency. It was heavy on the matcha, and the walnuts had a nice texture; I wish it were chewier! The onigiri was a bit disappointing, and I'd skip it. There was a decent amount of salmon, but the nori was soggy, not crispy like in Japan, and the rice kept falling apart. As a Japanese person, I have high standards for my onigiris, and this wasn't it. I recommend their drinks over their food. Behind the Museum Cafe has such a nice vibe whether you're visiting or living in Portland. I would come back for their drinks! You'll find them across from the art museum off SW 10th Ave.
