We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the barn the night before our wedding. Being from California, we wanted to have an "Aloha" theme to keep the vibe casual. Shannon worked closely with us to customize a menu and help us with decorations. She was so supportive and blew our minds with the creativity in the menu and drink options. She also partnered with us to work within our budget. Since we had to plan our wedding from across the country, communication with a lot of our vendors proved to be very tough. But NOT Shannon. She was quick to reply to all of our emails, and always put us in the best mood. In such a stressful process, we could always rely on Shannon and staff to make us feel at ease. And the food, WOW. Our 40 guests for dinner were raving over how amazing everything was. And after the dinner, we opened up the barn for about 100 people to come in for the "Welcome Party." At the welcome party, Shannon worked with us to customize cocktails and create a "California" themed taco station. Every single detail was delectable. We started with the citrus and fennel salad and grilled raddichio and these were both so fresh and delicious, we had to leftover vegetables this were exceptional. Then came the asparagus pizza, pork and beef meatballs, and the focaccia as our second course. We almost skipped the focaccia- that would have been a huge mistake. That is a must order, the texture was biscuit like and the seasonal flavored butter was divine. The pizza was really blowing us away with the white sauce and the chili crisp combination. The dough is so light and crispy as well it was wonderful. The meatballs were huge! and came with delicious grilled sourdough. The pasta and lamb shank came out next and at this point we couldn't see how it could get any better but then it did! The lamb shank is huge and cooked so beautifully. The pastas were definitely the standout bites of the course. The carbonara noodles are thick and cooked perfectly and the sauce is so rich a creamy. The Tortelli pasta was my favorite, the pockets stuffed with a gooey filling and the fava beans added a great texture to the dish. We were in carb heaven. We somehow were able to fit dessert in and i'm so glad we did not skip it. We ordered espresso martinis to accompany and this is without a doubt the best espresso martini i have ever had. We substituted tequila and they were completely delicious. I don't remember exactly what the names of the desserts were that we got but one was a a chocolate mousse with a peanut butter sauce and crunchy peanuts which was so yummy. But the favorite of the table was the pistachio one. It was like an ice cream bar with crunchy pistachios on it. Get this one if you go! This was an unforgettable meal from service to food. The staff is incredible and really treat you wonderfully and the food is so good i really didn't expect it to blow me away as much as it did. Our room (Garden 2) was claustrophobically small, a single uncomfortable chair for sitting, a single sink in the bathroom, erratic cable TV and heat that exceeded the thermostat setting. I've had rooms at a Hampton Inn that were roomier and much better furnished for $150/night. The staff was friendly, but in one case did not follow up on a promise. We had dinner reservations at the property restaurant for 6:00 pm and asked if they could move it to 6:30 or 7:00. The gentleman at the front desk said he would check and let us know. We never heard from him. VERY disappointed in our stay and recommend to all to avoid this property. The Auberge brand has been greatly tarnished in our eyes.

I received a tall glass with half cranberry juice and half soda water. Not a hint of Tito's. The sweet waitress knew it was not going to fly before she even set it down. So, back it went. What appeared in its place was a shot of Tito's in a short glass of soda with a 1/4 glass of cranberry juice on the side. At this point we had to pity the poor waitress. Our dinner entrees arrived. I ordered Shrimp and Crab in a Tarragon sauce over pasta. The minute she set it down I knew it was going to be a disaster. Honestly I wanted to jump out of my seat, throw on an apron, and teach this "Chef" how to cook. It looked like a few tiny little frozen shrimp swimming in dirty water with a few little pieces of crab here and there. It was topped with a bread crumb mixture that you could chip a tooth on. Or maybe it was actually gravel? In fairness, I took a bite thinking maybe I was being fussy. I was not. It went back to the kitchen. This entree by the way was just shy of $50.00. We weren't charged for it but that's not the point. My husband ordered the Salmon. The presentation was just hard to describe. Heirloom chunks of tomato with yesterday's breakfast potatoes and who knows what else behind a square piece of salmon. This took up half of the white plate. The other half had a green gooey glow in the dark green slime swooshed across it! The entire plate looked like a dinner that might be served on an alien spaceship. My husband did eat his dinner and said the salmon was actually ok. I did have the option of ordering another meal and thought I'd be safe with a bowl of Tomato Bisque. They were on the right track with this until they added far too much salt. Again, two spoonfuls and I was done. The very lovely gentleman overseeing the service offered desserts on the house, as he knew it was a birthday celebration. We felt safe with our choices. Do yourself a favor and just step away. All the food was very good, made with care. One of our favorites is the chips and dip appetizer...home made very crispy potato chips and homemade onion dip. Delicious! I love our June tradition of having lunch on the porch to kick off the summer.
