They do a weekend buffet and ensure that they have fresh, new, creative appetizers and dishes every time. 2) Something for everyone - northern dishes, southern dishes; a great selection for the first timers and spice or curry phobes. 3) Okra, spinach and red kidney beans ( 3 separate dishes today) prepared like I/all of us have never tasted before. 4) Amazing, pro active and very polite staff. The owner is so hands on and ensures all is well. 5) Ample room for big groups and parties. Last time I was here with a group of 10 was on Saturday 8/19/23 ( old Yelp photo) and everyone enjoyed themselves. 6) Great and relaxed atmosphere. The decor is just gorgeous with items and fixtures imported from 7700 miles east of Virginia. 7) 2 old school and just gorgeous desserts today - the rice pudding loaded with raisins and cashews plus the mini donut balls in syrup. 8) My mother came to visit me in 2022 and loved this restaurant ( old Yelp photo) and the service. This is the best Indian restaurant in Virginia. If you like Indian food and are within driving distance, you owe it to yourself to try this place. I know my opening statement may be contentious, but bear with me. We really like good Indian food. I am originally from the UK so am very well versed in Indian food. I have been in the US for 30 years and have tried Indian food all around the US. A few years ago we moved to Ashburn and was surprised by the lack of good Indian restaurants as there is a noticeable Indian area population. We tried a few and reviewed them here. So when we visited Delhi-6 for the first time in late April 2023, we were cautiously optimistic but ready for for whatever might happen. We went on a friday and we were hungry and assumed there is a buffet, mainly as they advertise it but the days are not clear. There is only a buffet on weekends, but despite what the sites say, this place is open at 11am and not 11:30am, so that is good news. I ordered Lamb Vindaloo, HOT. my wife ordered the Chicken Biryani. We got garlic Naan as well. The place was empty because of the 11/11:30 issue which hopefully they resolve. The restaurant is large with tables for large groups and the service was very attentive. After our wait, the food came out. Holy moley. My Lamb Vindaloo was probably one of the best if not THE BEST Lamb Vindaloo I have had in my entire life. The meat was flawless. No fatty pieces, or tough bits. It was soft and flavourful and so great I can't even think of anything negative to say about it. As I write this I am drooling just remembering it. The sauce was thick and spicy but also had perfect seasoning telling me the chef knows how to balance the flavours and elevate the fantastic lamb. The Naan bread was thin and crispy and held the vindaloo sauce wonderfully. The chicken Biryani was superb. I came with crunchy onions on on top, the chicken was super tender, and the rice cooked to perfection. It came with a beautiful raita. The chef is an artist for the palate. But wait, there's more! We went back in early May 2023 for the buffet. This time they had fried cauliflower which was indescribably great. They had chicken Biryani and I would say 15-20 different dishes. During our visit they also had a lamb Madras. This was another fantastic dish, with the same quality lamb meat, with no fat or tough parts, clearly cooked with love for hours. The flavours were incredible with a richness from all the herbs and spices that was very enjoyable. They also had a Butter Chicken which was texbook superb. Aloo saag was creamy to perfection just the way it should be served. Ordered some take out via DoorDash. Didn't want to eat sports bar food while staying at the local hotel. Wanted to have some real cooked food with spice so checked Yelp and found this place. Food was "not bad" as they say, wasn't bad and wasn't outstanding. It was okay. I did have a couple of bites of the chicken that was rough that I though I ate a bone or cartilage but it was just some rough, stringy chicken breast. I've cooked with those kind of chicken before and quite dislike it that's why I prefer to use thigh meat. Perhaps check the quality of the product you source your meat. I was Impressed with the carry out bag when my food was delivered , not your average typical brown bag. HoweverI was also disappointed that there were no utensils with the food. Unfortunately my hotel does not provide utensils so I had to eat with my hand, which I don't mind doing since I am Asian after all and eat with my hands occasionally. But I don't think given that I have no plate and this is not served traditionally that I would have an okay time using my hands. read more

Came here for their lunch/ brunch menu on a Saturday. Place was more than half empty. Service was okay, decor was sad and tacky unfortunately. The food was cold, laid out pretty haphazardly with empty cloches in the middle of food etc. They had very few appetizers, and everything seemed like it was not fresh. The kurkuri bhindi tasted burnt. The pickle had this terrible stale oil taste to it. The butter chicken had a weird off putting flavor and was too sweet. The pakoras were so firm, it was impossible to eat them. The only saving grace was their naan basket that comes to the table as part of the buffet. We tried out this place in person recently and were intrigued on the offerings. We started with the fried vegetarian platter, then also ordered saag paneer, pickled vegetables, chicken korma, naan, and the chicken briyani. The great: Chicken korma had great flavor, one of my favorite items as it had great flavor and spice level. The naan was perfectly buttery and soft. In the veggie platter the samosas, fried eggplant and fried cauliflower was great. The OK: The chicken briyani. The rice and flavor was there but the chicken was dry sometimes. A great big portion though! The pickled veggies were good but a bit too salty for us personally. The Not so great: The saag paneer. It lacked flavor and the spinach was like mush completely. I think the cheese was great but it needed more spice. Next time I would ask for it to be made spicy but I think they should make the spinach less mush like so it actually resembles spinach. Service was great, presentation was nice, and we will definitely try some extra dishes here next time! read more

We decided to have authentic Indian before we leave for home tomorrow. My wife found this place about a mile or so from our hotel. It had the right atmosphere, music, the staff and the food were all very pleasant. We started with the Palak Chaat. A lightly fried spinach dish. Also happened to be vegetarian friendly. With a light crunch and an interesting blend of sauces and spices, I thought it was very interesting. Almost like a cooked salad yet flavorful enough to be a meal. It left a slight tinge on the tip of the tongue that let us know we were in for a treat. Our main courses were a Lamb Vindaloo and a Goat Masala. Both came with rice and we ordered Papadum and Garlic Naan to go with. Everything came in it's own little bowls or baskets for you to portion out how much of everything you wanted. The Goat Masala was tender yet sturdy. The thick sauce and flavorful ingredients melded well with the rice. Yet again, it left only a slight tinge of heat on the tongue. Any fears of overly spicy food that makes you sweat profusely we're wiped from my mind. The Lamb Vindaloo gave us a similar feeling, though admittedly a little spicier than the Masala. We were reminded of how much Lister on Red Dwarf liked vindaloo and now know why. Creamy yet Savory all at the same time. We appreciated ordering the naan as it's garlicky flavor and soft texture soothed the spices just enough. I rounded my meal off with a Mango Kulfi. An Indian ice cream that literally soothed the tongue and made a perfect end to it all. It was not quite ice cream yet not quite fruit either. It looked and felt like solid chunks of mango yet melted in your mouth very easily. This restaurant was a nice ending to our trip and a definite recommendation from me. read more

Was shopping at the Ashburn Lotte and decided to check out Delhi-6 for some Indian food. They did not disappoint! We had Lamb Korma and Lamb Chop Masala. If you like lamb, these are great options. The Lamb Korma gravy topped with chopped cashews was rich and creamy. The pieces of lamb were tender and delicious. I doused the gravy onto my rice and enjoyed every mouthful. The Lamb Chop Masala was totally worth the price. They first put the lamb chops in the tandoor and then added the masala sauce on top. Biting into the lamb, you first encounter a crispy crust on the outside before sinking your teeth into the moist, tasty meat. That was the first time I had lamb chops like this and I enjoyed it tremendously Other than the food, we found the service friendly and attentive. Maybe because we were there a little early (before 6pm)? I was looking around the restaurant at the pictures and decor, and each time my eyes meet the waiter's he would come over and asked if I needed anything. This happened a few times to the point where I was trying to avoid getting the waiter into my line of sight :-) But it's all good because there was a couple of times when I did need something and he responded there right away. My first and the last visit to 'Delhi 6', the Indian Restaurant in Ashburn with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience left a lot to be desired. The food was a major letdown.The dishes in the Buffet were bland and lacked flavor, lukewarm and seemed reheated. They seemed like they had been sitting out for a while. Potato mix for Pani Puri was stale. The chicken was undercooked and sweet. For the price point, the quality of food was simply not up to par. We were visiting and we had kids with us and we ordered tandoori platter and we reached and they handed us over chicken 65 with few chicken seekh kebabs mixed in it..we don't even like chicken 65 and anyways it was pathetic. Went to the restaurant with 6 people. The restaurant was freezing. There was a party next door. The party seemed to leave the back door open. Waitress were wearing be the winter coats inside of the restaurant. We ordered the Palak chat appetizer and the non veg appetizer combo which configured if lamb seek kabob, tandoori chicken and chicken 65. Palak chat was tasty and the only dish that is was enjoyed. The non veg appetizer lacked flavor. Could not really tell the difference between chicken 65 and tandoori chicken. The meat was soft and served with mint and tamarind chutney. For main entrees, we ordered the following: Bread basket Chicken Korma Chicken Curry Chicken Biryani Goat Curry Goat Biryani The bread basket had good bread that was tasty. Chicken Korma, Chicken Biryani and Chicken Curry was not bad but a little bit on greasy side. Goat Biryani and Goat Curry had tough pieces of goat. My wife threw away the pieces of goat since they were so we tough to eat. The masala was good on the goat dishes and not too oily. Service was good but it was really never warm in the restaurant. The place is nice inside, love the décor and the Indian pop music video that they played. We came for dinner and ordered the chicken curry and garlic naan. Chicken curry was not as spicy and was kinda thick. I noticed the chicken was a variety of dark and white meat. The bowl that they brought the curry out in had pockets of hot spots here and there. I would find one section to be super hot and others to be cold. I wonder how they heat the curry up. I didn't like their rice that came with it. Dried and long grain rice are not my fav. My hubby and I ordered the same dish and they brought out only one bowl of rice. The garlic naan was the best, I used the bread to dip in my curry.
