She previously had to be placed under general anesthesia and intubated in the hospital setting to have 4 crowns placed. When she needed a tooth pulled that abscessed after trauma, our gen dmd recommended finding someone nitrous-capable because her anxiety and breakdowns prevented even the simplest routine care. We heard of Dr Rob via word of mouth and I made the appointment. He was amazing. This man just knows how to talk to children, the type with a natural talent. Within three seconds of walking into the room he established a report with my child and she trusted him... I mean from tears to smiles within moments. I was so relieved. I'm pretty sure he would have been successful even without the nitrous. In any which case, she left so happy. When she required yet another appointment to replace one of the crowns previously placed under GA, she walked right into his office with no hesitation. It was, again, a wonderfully positive experience for her. His office is the only healthcare setting she doesn't get nervous in. He's also fairly easy to get an appointment with. Typically they'd schedule me pretty far out and I would ask to call if there were any sooner availability. To my shock, this office actually does call when there's cancellations! Both times, I received a call back and was seen within the week. So don't be deterred if you get scheduled out. Just make the appointment and wait for the call.

Recently, when I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Rob, since Dr. Dale had retired, I was told - again after a 30-year history - that I would need to find him another dentist, that Dr. Rob only does "pediatric" dentistry. Now, try to find a dentist for a 70-year-old mentally-challenged man who has known the Collins practice for that long. I could not begin to completely convey my disappointment and astonishment that this "professional," Dr. Rob, has proven himself to be. His father must hang his head in shame.

This place is AMAZING!! I've never seen so many children going in HAPPY and leaving HAPPY!…read more(Including my own) The environment itself is a wonderland of VERY recognizable cartoon props, interactive play areas, movies (not to loud either!) and pleasant distractions for the kids (and fun loving grown ups) The hygienist are wonderful! When they receive the children they are welcoming and kind. When they are working on the Patient they are calm and engaged w/the children. Upon checking out those same hygienist are great with parents reviewing any needs or prevention practices. From beginning to end we have had great experiences at ABC dental. I recommend them to family and friends all the time!

Dear Doctor Singer, I am writing to respectfully request an…read moreexception to your usual policy regarding parental presence during dental procedures. My 4-year-old daughter will be undergoing cavity prep work, and I strongly feel that my being in the room will help comfort and reassure her throughout the process. As her parent, I believe my presence is crucial to her emotional well-being during what can be a stressful, first-time experience. While I was explaining my concerns to the hygenist in the room - Emily, I believe - she said that I was welcome to have the procedure done elsewhere. It was disappointing to be dismissed in such a manner and then to hear the "this is our office policy" as a standard response. I want to find a solution that puts my daughter's needs first. I also want to outline that, as a parent, I am not comfortable having my daughter in a room with strangers while she is semi-conscious. I work in a field where we tell parents NOT to allow their children to be in a room with adults they do not know. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. *Dr. Singer called within a few hours to explain why they dont allow a parent in the room at all. It's BS. Please accept this email as formal notification of Stella's termination of her relationship with ABC Children's Dentistry. For context, I shared my experience on social media, and the platform's power did not disappoint. I received overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and even strangers who all agreed that your "office policy" on procedures is absurd. Parents and people without children alike continued to share my story. I also received the names of six dentists who not only permit but also encourage a parent to be present with their child at any age. Since I was advised that I could "have the procedure done somewhere else," that's what I am doing.

Best dental group ever!!!…read more When I was searching for a dentist I searched the internet pretty thoroughly. I noticed all the five star reviews for Avalon Dental! Well, Avalon lives up to their reputation. In fact they are the best dental group I ever used!!! From receptionist, to hygienist, to the dentist - they were perfect in a way that I've never encountered. I was there for teeth cleaning and I was treated as if I was a family member; and they treated my teeth like they would want their own teeth treated. They were very upbeat and transparent about pricing. I left with a great feeling and a feeling that my teeth were the cleanest they've been in a long time! I highly recommend Avalon Dental to anyone who wants the same great treatment!

I made an appt for a consultation and was given an appt for a cleaning w/sedation on a Thursday…read more They texted my grandson for confirmation of the appt. On the day of the appt, he called to see if the time could be moved up as he was feeling anxious about the appt. They told him to come in 45 min earlier than his original appt. It takes about 30 min to get there and we left in ample time. About 20 min into the ride, he received a phone call from them stating they were cancelling the appt because the dr was not in the office. Don't you think they knew that first thing in the morning? So I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold. I turned my car around and headed home. After about a 10 min drive towards home, she came back on the phone and asked me if I was still coming up there. I said no what was the point. She said she couldn't get the supervisor but she spoke with the hygienist and she said they would make an exception to using the sedation and go ahead with the cleaning. I turned around and headed back to the appt. No sooner did I get off the exit and according to my GPS, we had 4 min to get there, my grandson received a call from them stating they had to cancel the appt as the machine was broken! I asked them to have a supervisor call me. this was at 11:15am. By 3:00 pm, I did not get a return call, so I called again. I feel I was getting the run around and left another message. The supervisor called me back a short time later. She was very apologetic and said she would get to the bottom of things and scheduled an appt for the following Monday morning (today) for 10:15am. She assured me that they would check everything and all would be good for his appt. So today we left the house again in ample time, got to the appt only to be told there was no appt for him! Did the supervisor forget to put him in the appt or did the office take him out? I told her to call the supervisor and talk with her. After speaking with her they put him on the schedule and we went to the waiting room. After waiting for about 20 minutes I went to the desk and asked when he was going to be called back. She said I'll be right back. I waited 5 minutes and she said someone will be out in a few minutes. Guess what???????? They cancelled the appt AGAIN because the sedation machine was broken!!!!!!! They handed me the folder with his xrays in it and a phone number for a different practice to take him to get his teeth cleaned with sedation. I called to speak with the supervisor and pushed the button on the phone for new patients. I was holding for over 30 minutes. Is this the way they treat new patients or any patient for that matter. I didn't leave any message. I called later and was told that she wasn't available and would have her call me back. That was 2:00. It is now ALMOST 4:00 and no call, so I called again and was told she left for the night as the office closes at 4:00 but the website says 5:00. This is not a practice that I will associate with as the staff in the office are not very organized. The supervisor told me that they prepare during the week for the next week to make sure everything is ready. It's quite clear this is not the case. Not only that, but the hold time for this practice is way too long for any patient to be put on hold. The practice as far as I could see was not very busy and the receptionist was not continuously having to answer the phones. So where is the problem? Not sure but I'm not staying around to find out. I am considering other options. I have contacted the owner of the company and can only hope he will call me back.
