Parents are not allowed to talk to their children on the phone or in person. I would not recommend this camp. It is very scary and they do not properly vet the camp counselors, nor cabin leaders.

I've been here twice as a staff member for a week-long camp through my church: once as a counselor…read moreand once as an activity coordinator. We stayed in the cabins, ate in one of the cafeterias, and spent most of our time by the beach, in the wood shop, in the chapel (way too cold -- someone turn that air-conditioning down please!), and in the game room pavilion. The cabins were as clean as cabins could be with some bugs (it's summer camp, what do you expect?). One bathroom wasn't enough for a room of ten girls, though! The wood shop was cool, and the girls enjoyed hanging out on the beach nearby, jumping in the water or fishing from the pier. The game room pavilion had chairs and some games to play, but it wasn't as appealing as playing in the park, which was in the middle of everything. The cafeteria/kitchen staff was also very accommodating of my request for vegetarian food. The first year, I was too nervous about asking for special food since it was free, so I just dealt with it and ate meat for a week. The second year, there were more vegetarians among the camp volunteers, so we felt more comfortable asking for vegetarian food. They did a great job remembering us and offering alternative foods. The camp and conference center also has a lagoon, paddle boats, canoeing, a paintball arena, sand volleyball, a gym, some high-ropes course thing, and different paths through the woods for team-building or hiking. Great options and great, friendly staff. There's also a lot of other lodging options and other spots to dine, but our kids didn't spend their time there. I guess three camps could occur at the same time. It's just a summer camp spot, but it's a great spot. I'm looking forward to next year!

The gym is definitely not worth the money! Many other gyms in the area have newer equipment and…read morebetter facilities for the same price. It regularly takes months for things that should be obviously noticed and prioritized to be fixed by management. I reported multiple complaints to the seemingly uncaring staff about having no lights in the parking lot when it's dark in the morning and broken equipment, which they didn't bother to respond to or even put a sign on the broken equipment for weeks. I come at varying times in the morning, and there are cars parked on both sides of the street and the lot is full due to their class times. I mentioned this to Jane at the front desk, who didn't seem to care when she rudely told me, "Well, it's the busiest time of the morning. There are only two classes." And then went right back to folding her towels. I asked again about why they don't split up the class--as they hold the most popular class at the most popular time for working people regularly just going to the gym--and she rudely dismissed my concern again. Don't come here if you want new and working equipment, not to have to plan your workout around that of retired people, and a staff that cares about its facilities and guests.

The tennis courts are in great condition and the gym/weight rooms are very decent. love that there is a small walkable track area as well. They do offer childcare, but we never needed that so not sure how it works to be used. The tennis pros are fantastic. We have had such a great experience and my daughter has gained so much more knowledge and love of the sport because of her private lessons. She also took part in Match Play and absolutely loved that as well. It was a great experience to be able to play with other highschoolers. We live just over a hour away and we find it worth it for the drive. There are other facilities we could choose, however, this one came recommended to us and because we just really needed a place for tennis, we didn't need a large gym/tennis facility we chose to have a membership here. The prices for memberships are very fair and good for what you receive here. I rather stay here than go to a more traditional style club. It can get busy with tournaments but we have never had an issue about seating inside or finding a place to park. The facility keeps up with maintenance when needed and we never experienced an issue other than soap was out and front desk employee took care of right away. If you are using the weight rooms etc. they have towels and disinfecting spray, which I saw everyone using when they would use the equipment, this was great to see! Highly recommend if you need something that won't break the bank and or want to get involved in tennis. Jon and Adam are truly wonderful! Thank you for all the lessons, guidance and expertise Jon, you truly are a great instructor.
