The chips are home made as are the tortillas. I was transcended back to Mexico where we would get tortillas from the ladies at the tortilleria. This menudo is definitely not from a can. It is brothy, deep in chili flavor, and they are not greedy with the tripe. They also have a spicy salsa you can request of you're like me and like it to burn twice. ;) This will be my go-to Mexican taqueria.

He returned three or four times to replenish/refill drinks for the females in our group but ignored me and the other male in our group, until we asked for a refill. Our entree's took about 20 - 25 minutes to come out and there were several minutes between the first and last to make it to the table. In the business district of the town where most of their lunchtime weekday customers are workers on lunch break they need to be getting the food out the kitchen quicker. As for the food presentation was nice. Everyone's dishes looked really fresh and appetizing. Two of our team had the shrimp taco's and they was so much moisture in them they ended up eating them with a knife and fork. Another two on our team had the Quesabirria. They said it tasted good but had more cheese than Burria. As for my own dish, I had the poblanos with steak, which is three enchiladas covered in a poblano sauce with a side of rice. The portion was a reasonable size but the steak was chewy and while it wasn't bad the poblano sauce just didn't impress me. It was just plain in flavor, with not much poblano flavor. Like I mentioned earlier we were seated outside. I was about two thirds the way through my meal and found a small black hair in the sauce. Where we were sat was pretty breezy so I cannot say if the hair came with my meal or if it was blown onto my food, but it was not the best end to what I would call a lackluster meal.

But I think there could've been more meat; it was basically one small layer and the ratio was off compared to other ingredients. I also wasn't a big fan of the beans - I got some very pasty bites sometimes. Fries were good. Could've been a little crispier, but not a big deal. The filled churros were absolutely delicious, but they only gave me two? It used to be 3, referencing my first review. Waitress was polite and attentive.

My wife got the ground beef chimichanga, and I had to try their chili relleno, with ground beef added, and their red sauce. It was the best chili relleno I've ever had! (The ground beef was added as a topping, rather than stuffed inside, but that's a very minor complaint. And it was still delicious.) The service was great, with José checking back with just the right frequency - not too often, so as to be an irritation. And the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable.
