I hate writing negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel people should know before spending their money here. This place has really gone downhill. The food used to be great, which is why we came back, but this visit was incredibly disappointing. The seafood smelled old the moment it came to the table and tasted rancid. It honestly made us question how fresh the food actually is. The drinks were also obviously watered down and lacked any real flavor. What made the experience even worse was the service. Our wait staff barely checked on us the entire meal. Drinks were never refilled, and instead of paying attention to tables, the staff spent most of their time standing around the bar talking. It felt like customers were an inconvenience. After mentioning our experience to others, I realized we are not the only ones noticing the decline in quality and service. I have heard similar complaints from several people recently. I have also heard concerns that many of the glowing reviews may be coming from friends and family rather than actual, unbiased customers. Very disappointing because this used to be a place I enjoyed and recommended. Unfortunately, I will not be returning unless major changes are made. read more

We were very excited to take my friend to Kraken Killer Seafood for her birthday, because she loves crab legs. First thing I noticed is that the menu I was given had a hole in it, and an employee's child was running around the restaurant bothering the guests. The birthday girl ordered crab legs with the lemon pepper sauce: mild. Very soon after she started eating, she noticed that the sauce was not mild. She found it to be very spicy. After awhile, she told the waitress it was too spicy, and she asked for melted butter so she could add it to the sauce and make it less spicy. But it was still too spicy. Then we called the waitress over and told her it was still too spicy. Instead of taking it back and giving my friend a new order, the waitress kept defending it, as if her talking about it being mild would make it mild and thereby change my friend's experience of it being too spicy. The waitress brought my friend another bowl of butter, but by that time, my friend was no longer enchanted with the meal. As we continued eating, all the staff were clattering around, making a racket, moving chairs and even mopping up the floor with a disgusting pan and mop while we were still in the midst of eating. This spoiled my friend's birthday. She said that she would not ever come back to this restaurant. My experience of the food was great. I asked for moderate spice and I liked the flavor and the spiciness. But I was not impressed by the staff. They should have taken my friend's food back and given her a fresh, unspicey meal. read more

Hmm well, this was certainly different. My dad really likes this place and likes the pound of a boiled shrimp in Creole sauce, and likes it real spicy the place is kinda weird in how they give you a big biohazard bag full of fishy stuff, no plate and surgical gloves. I order the fried gator but, as I thought It might be okay as I had that a long time ago at an alligator farm . Not bad not great. It was. But oilly like fish might be but the batter was seasoned nicely but wayyy too salty. I overall still liked it but would probably just get fried wings or fried shrimp next time instead. There's not much on the menu for me to pick from that I'd like here, and so much of it seems incredibly high priced for what you get and I would imagine you could just go to Walmart and cook it at home and get similar results. Well this started out little different. Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Was greeted and I asked if I could sit anywhere. Waiter dropped off the menu and left then different waiter ask for my drink order which I chose water. Now looking at the menu, it is hard to read. Background is black with light colored writing in a low light restaurant. They have a build your own by selecting the protein ( crab, shrimp, gator and so on). But there are no prices. It says market price. I did not see prices listed anywhere. I don't want a surprise bill so post the market prices or let the customer know they are available. Now I had the gator bites and they were good. A little chewy but good. Had the cold slaw and it was a little too much mayonnaise and no salt or pepper and none on the table. Waiter stopped by several times to check on me. When I finished he brought the check and to my surprise asked if I wanted a water to go. I declined. I'll try them again but I'm going to ask for the market price list first. read more

Stopped specifically for fish and chips. The fish batter was thick and tough and our fries were limp and undercooked. Disappointing for a seafood restaurant. Staff were young and congregated in a booth laughing and talking and inattentive. This was our first time. Don't know if we'll return. read more

This was my first time eating here. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be back to order more things from the menu. I had the fried gator, corn, and fried pickles. They were all delicious. Amazing price (we got a deal for 3lb of crab) and it was great. We got the hot in house flavoring which was a bit garlicky for me, but my husband loved it. And I got a second helping of medium shrimp with Cajun and the shrimp did not taste fresh to me. The waitress was great though. I'm very picky on my shrimp. Just should've gotten more crab. I'm not sure how to describe the ambiance. If we ever drive down to Arkansas again we will be coming back 100% wish we didn't wait until the end of our trip to visit. read more

Amazing! We ordered some food and not only was it quick but the service there is so good. We recommend the fire cracker shrimp and the sea food boils. The food is so good and not that expensive. This place is a little hidden gem. The food and service was great. They have weekly specials like king crab or shrimp. The crab cake appetizer was delish! We split a tray of king crab, shrimp, potatoes and sausage and were stuffed. You will not leave hungry. It was clean in the restaurant and bathrooms. This is a hesitant 3 star. We went to Kraken this past Saturday to partake in the $1 oyster special. Boy let me tell ya..it was delicious! The garlic bread was huge and buttery, and the oysters delicious. Now onto why the three star. That I'm not really sure if it should make it three or two. I ordered the pound of crawfish with sausage. Seasonings were Cajun and garlic. The seasonings were wonderful and the sausage yummy. However, the crawfish weren't purged correctly. Which added to me picking through them. Then I came across a giant dragon fly. The dude been boiled right along with my food. Instantly, my hunger disappeared. I gingerly picked up the bug, placed it in a napkin and showed it to our server. Our server took one look at the critter and just disappeared. Vanished. Like smoke. Left me holding the bug. I looked at the other people at my table perplexed. Was it a magic trick? I waited a bit then walked to the servers coworker who was standing at the server stand to show them the unexpected surprise. Shocked he grabbed the napkin and disappeared into the back. I turn around and our server was coming straight at me, loudly announcing "I'm sorry I was grabbing a glove as I hate bugs!" I was again confused for several reasons. 1) I was standing next to their supply of gloves. 2) the servers loud announcement in the restaurant with people in clear hearing distance. I tried to calm to server down and just requested for a discount and i went back to my table. To my surprise the server came back to our table to convey their apologies but they did try to pick out all the bugs but must've missed that one. I understand fresh food may come with unwanted stowaways. But...annoucing it to the resteraunt and disappearing may not have been the best approach. I'll give this place another try. Not good! Had the fish tacos. It was a preprocessed/ presbyteries and frozen piece of fish. Expected hand bartered in a seafood restaurant. It was drowned in copious amounts of a flavorless, Mayo based, sauce. So much that it occupied the flavor profile, chilled the fried fish, and made it impossible to pick up and eat. The tortilla it was wrapped in came out of a bag (not Bhomemade) along with the bagged cabbage (slaw blend) that tried the hide the boxed fish sticks. Totally enjoyed dinner. Had the shrimp heads off boil with potatoes and corn. Had the flavorful medium sauce. The sauce had a little bit of heat. Made my head sweat, lol just the right amount. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, a little bit of crispness. Also had the toast/bread, buttered with garlic and cheese. It was great for sipping up the juice. We were extremely happy with the service, quality of the seafood ordered. Oysters were fresh, jumbo, and very well presented. As good as any you will get on the coast. The shrimp, creole style were excellent and well prepared. My only take was that being first customers for lunch the boiling spice was not quite as strong yet. If you want "Hot" go up one over what you order normally. Our server was very helpful and quickly ran down what available and her recommendations. Restaurant was very clean, nicely appointed. Very busy place, didn't realize they had just been open a day or so. Seating was packed out with a few stools left at the bar. We waited at the bar and were seated about 25 minutes later. Ordered the crab cakes which were very good. The sauce was especially spicy which I like. Ordered the mussels with lemon pepper sauce and added sausage. Huge mistake! This wasn't an order of fresh mussels garnished with a hint of lemon pepper.... these were older mussel, (5 of the 18 didn't open), swimming in the strongest lemon pepper sauce you can imagine. I commented to server about the UN-opened ones and she asked if I wanted to have the cook heat them more. I explained you don't do that with mussels. No offer to discount order. We have eaten here a couple times, pre-covid, and enjoyed the food. However, we went last night and all 4 in our party had the best, fresh, appropriately cooked seafood in a long time. Initially I wanted to try Kraken Killer Seafood, because of the name. Then a friend recommend it so I had to go. When I walked in, it was a little underwhelming but at the same time comfortable. I couldn't decide what I wanted to order and the server, KK was patient and even funny about it. She recommended the shrimp boil bag and said I had to try the Krak fries. So that's what I ordered and I was not disappointed. Boil bag..YES. Krak fries..better for you than actual crack and half the price. Highly Recommend requesting the server we had too. Place is great. Great crab legs. We go here about every two weeks. They have a lot of beer to choose from and everything we've tried has been great. I will note though that recently we have seen a decline in service. Spices fluctuate, not sure why. The staff is friendly but the times have increased dramatically. Also, they have started charging an extra dollar on kids meals but they tack it on as charging for fries. It's only a dollar, but their menu doesn't say this. We've had it corrected twice before but recently they said that the price has changed. Yet their menu still advertises the old rate. Shouldn't take months to update the menu. I would LOVE if they added mushrooms to the menu to add to the bag, like with corn/potatoes/sausage. This place is a must try, just expect to wait a few minutes. But bring some friends and it's not noticeable. read more

I have been here twice and both times it has been delicious! The falvortown seasoning on crab legs is insanely good... sooooo good, the corn is a delicious add on . Can't get enough.
