The food is good, I liked the burger that I ordered but it did take awhile for them to clean off a table for us to sit at. The server was nice on the phone, and we go here every year so we will be back. It's been really cold in there everytime we go - so bring a jacket! Other than that I like the paintings they have on the walls. read more

Del Rancho Restaurant - Coffee mug - Fast Food Near Me - Tahlequah, Oklahoma

I was visiting from California - first time in Oklaholma - and heard that I needed to try chicken fried steak. Asked the folks at the hotel and one of them immediately recommended this place. Diner style casual comfortable spot - plentiful parking right off the main road, definite favorite is the cool phone-in your order at the table (althought it was a bit loud and difficult to hear). Once you put in your order it's brought to your table, then to pay I walked up to the counter. I think because of the phone issues I ended up getting the fried chicken on my salad instead of chicken fried steak but no worries since the chicken was moist on the inside and super crisp on the outside - absolutely hit the spot. friendly service, unique spot - would def return read more

Del Rancho was on my list of things I needed to hit up during my most recent visit to Tahlequah, specifically for the Tahlequah taco/Indian taco. Del Rancho is by the roadside and they have indoor seating and drive through. I did the drive through because I thought it would be faster. I was very confused by their drive through because they had 3 lanes, but they did not take our orders in the order that we came. I ended up sitting in my car for 15 minutes before someone started taking my order. Once I ordered and paid at the window, I was told to wait behind by the back door for them to bring me out my order. The food took another 10 minutes to get. Despite the long wait time, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of the taco. It had a dry bread filled with meats, cheese, tomatoes, red onions and sour cream. It was enough to fill me for 2 or more meals! Definitely give the tahlequah taco a try, just know you might have to wait a bit for it. read more

Del Rancho Restaurant - The photo on the menu is really cute. It's been a tradition and Tahlequah for over 40 years. It's my first time here. - Fast Food Near Me - Tahlequah, Oklahoma

My husband took me on a drive today to come to this diner. Ambiance is so fun. Just know you order from the phone at the table! Anyone waiting for their order to be taken is clueless and should have asked. We had the Taco and the Chicken Fried steak sandwich and onion rings. The fry bread taco was amazing. The sandwich was dry, but the breading was good and well seasoned. The onion rings were meh. The malt we had was really thick. I would go back for the fry bread for sure! Maybe try the chicken sandwich next time instead. read more

Been eating here for years. Today we stopped in for lunch and it was a little disappointing. My steak sandwich was on par but my fries were cold. My wife had the chili cheese dog and it was room temp. The cheese wouldn't even melt. Service was ok, no complaints there. Food was just lacking. read more

Noticed there is always lots of cars there so thought it must be good. Decided to try it this morning. Went in was told to sit wherever we wanted, they were not busy, maybe 3 tables with customers. We waited about 10 minutes never got served. Didn't even come take our drink order. Drove down the street to The original egg and was served immediately. read more

Good food and service. The only comment I have is the fry bread was a little too thick for my taste, but it had good flavor. read more

Del Rancho is an Oklahoma classic. It's so nostalgic to be greeted by old school diner vibes, and you make your order on an old phone at the table! People say it's the best chicken fried steak around. We like to stop in to the Tahlequah location after a river trip because they are always so accommodating, and the food comes out quick, hot, and fresh. Fabulous milkshakes! And the fry bread puffs are amazing. read more

I do love the steak sandwich supreme. They used to be much bigger. Fries never seem to be done. Service is hit or miss.

Yelp search brought us here for breakfast. Pulled up and it was quite busy. It's a seat yourself kinda place, menus are waiting at each table. Had an old diner vibe which was cool. You order over the old fashioned phone on the wall. Thank goodness a previous post mentioned this because my husband didn't think they worked. Ordered the chicken fried steak supreme breakfast. It was a disappointing size wise but the flavor was good. Potatoes were disappointing and flavorless. Gravy was bland. Not sure why it was called supreme?!? I ordered the Tahlequah taco and it was delicious. Loved every bite of it. I'd come back for the Tahlequah taco, though. Sometimes you just have to know what to order. read more

The food is actually very good but the older manager lady is extremely RUDE to customers and her employees. We've witnessed this several times and originally thought maybe she was just having a bad day, but we soon realized she's just a bitter grump that should not be managing people or running a restaurant. Yesterday we ordered 7 drinks togo and the girl helping us was trying her best to make sure our order was correct, when that same hateful manager lady walked up to the employee and started yelling at her (in front of us) asking her why she couldn't get the order right.. The poor girl reminded the manager she was new and still learning but the manager rolled her eyes and continued with the same attitude. Even tho it took awhile to receive our correct order, I felt more terrible for that employee having to put up with such uncalled for behavior from what should be a "leader". This is just one example but there has been several other instances especially recently. We've always loved coming to Del Rancho but we will be avoiding this location till that woman is retired.. read more

Del Rancho is down home Oklahoma diner food. When we walked in we were not greeted and we Just found a place to sit. Menus were already on the table and we picked up the phone and ordered. The friendly voice on the line was helpful and our food came out quickly. We ordered the chicken fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and a side of okra. It also comes with a small salad and Texas toast. The Chicken fried steak was so good! Probably the best I've had at any restaurant. The okra was also delicious. This is a no frills diner in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Don't go in expecting fine dining and perfect service. The food speaks for itself and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and unique ordering. Hit or miss. The past couple of times I went, definitely weren't as good as the last 2-3 times I went. Customer service is very bland, young teens working with no managers (it seemed) present. Waited over 5 minutes to place an order at the counter with 2 girls talking behind the counter the entire time (doing nothing). Overall they aren't a terrible place, but without a manager present. The service was terrible read more

Alright dude, don't even get me started on the corn dogs and chicken sandwich I almost passed out from the goodness of that chicken, its juts chef's kiss The staff is amazing as always. But one time me and my dad were in there, there was a guy behind the counter that looked like machine gun Kelly, definitely recommend talking to him, he's a pretty cool guy. Came here to try out the food. The chili dog was horrid and the chili looked like something of nothing chili related, it was grainy and tasted like complete crap. It was inedible and wasn't eaten at our table. The shrimp basket was decent, they skimp on the shrimp though for $10. The fries were cold and grainy also on the inside. The fried okra was pretty good probably would get that again. Overall I'll only return if everything else is closed and McDonald's has better fries. This is like a 1 or 2 star place at best. read more

Fries were inedible, both sandwiches were wrong, both drinks wrong. Disappointed for a $30 fast food meal for 2.

Stopped in here on the way back to the City. I love Del Rancho, but the employees here are rude AF. We dined in and used the phone to call our order in, the employee kept cutting me off before I was done ordering. Then she and the kitchen staff stared at us the rest of the time. It got awkward to the point where we double checked our food to make sure there wasn't spit in it. read more

The Chicken Fried Steak sandwich is sooo huge. Indian fry bread is interesting and different. Drive thru is unique in that you order then wait till they have it ready then drive up ( multiple order stations). Inside you pick up a phone and order, odd but it works. Food is typical burger joint quality for the most part but some things stand out. 4 stars for being unique and doing things different and not being like the large chains. Please offer franchises in Texas so we can enjoy your singular style. read more

Horrible! Stopped in for breakfast, waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged, finally told to sit wherever, there were no clean tables, still no one acknowledged us. We told them there wasn't a clean table, we got attitude in looks, still didn't say anything to us. We sat down at a half cleaned table with no acknowledgement. People came in after us and we're served with a smile, and an apology for the dirty table, must have locals, because we still weren't talked to or brought anything. After 30 minutes of this we left letting the manager know what happened. read more

Badly overpriced, small portions, so-so food, mediocre service. Visited this restaurant upon recommendation of a local. Disappointing experience. Ordered a chicken fried steak. $12.76 w/o tax for a small steak, one scoop of mashed potatoes, a slice of Texas toast and a small salad. In fairness to the person who recommended the restaurant, they said that the chicken fried steak overflowed the plate - that is now anything but the truth. Things have obviously changed. The steak was tender and tasted okay. Served on top of the gravy rather than having the gravy on top of the steak. A single scoop of mashed potatoes (shaped like a scoop) with gravy: tasted like instant potatoes, but a small portion. The toast tasted good - the best item of the meal. Service was barely adequate. Ordered the meal over a phone in the booth (that's unique), but the connection was bad (on a hard wired system?) and I had to repeat my order twice. Never received a ticket to pay. Had to ask the cashier to locate my charge - three people l had to search 4 times to find my order in their computer even though they could see the table where I was sitting. When I was walking to the cashier, the waitress offered to package my drink in a to-go cup, but she never did get around to it. In fairness to the waitress, she is the only waitress I saw working the entire dinner crowd - they appear to be short of wait staff. Granted, we are in a period of insane inflation, but the price of this meal was ridiculously overpriced. This meal is not much better nor much larger nor much tastier than a chicken fried steak at Grandy's - yet the meal at Grandy's has a second vegetable, includes a drink and costs significantly less Not recommended. read more

A group of four came to have lunch . We were greeted with a friendly greeting. We ordered the Indian taco, chicken fried sandwich and catfish and chicken basket. The basket came with shrimp and no chicken. Sent it back. Then they sent out only fish no chicken. They wanted to take the basket back to fix we said no just bring the chicken. ( side note the chicken is why we stopped). When said chicken arrived it was a disappointment. Over cooked and hard. The bill came and they charged us for TWO baskets. We noted the problem at the register and they were not willing to consider they were wrong. No need for us to return. read more

Not one to complain but this needs to be said. I ordered chili cheese fries for takeout and when I ordered I asked for extra ketchup. The price was $6.75, for that you get a small takeout tub with virtually no chili or cheese. Basically got an order of dry fries and btw, not extra ketchup, how about none. Will not be back! read more

This experience was overall amazing!!! Calling on the phone to order was so fun and the food was delicious. I got a chicken basket and a milkshake and the milkshake was to die for! Firstly, the drive thru setup is like someone designed it to be inefficient and aggravating. went this afternoon to get my husband and myself something to eat, decided to get there Indian tacos. Got home and open them up, what a disappointment it was to see that there was nothing on the top but bread. I paid $10 each ordered 2 and we got bread! This place has went down in so many ways. I called spoke to a manager and she said there was nothing they could do because she had to call the owner but to come back in and get a small cup of beans/meat :( We will not be back and this place needs to clos down because they can get an order out right. Never again! When we got our food, the gravy was cold and had a film over it. We sent it back, and the gravy came back just as bad. Fries were cold, but didn't want to chance sending back. We came for Steak sandwich, but was disappointed in the cold sandwich we received. Bacon cheeseburger was a mess too. Tea was hot so ice was non existent when waitress brought to table. When we told manager about the problems her reply was we have sweet or non sweet tea. I would have been embarrassed if I were her. She didn't say a thing about the problems with the food, just that they had sweet or non sweet tea. Will never go back!! read more

I have been visiting this location for over 20 years. I was in the area and decided to stop by today. We ordered 2 steak sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and a chili dog. Our server was helping a softball team so we knew the service was not going to be great but we were ok with that. We waited 20 minutes for our food and it was brought out as soon as it was put up in the window. Sadly and aggravatingly, it was all COLD! Our server never returned so we were forced to eat a little and then left. While we paid we told them everything was cold and there reply was "sorry". I will never return again. read more
