My fiance and I recently took engagement pictures with Beth and she was great to work with! She made the whole process easy and fun for the both of us. From our initial conversations through email, she was very professional and responsive. She took the time to answer my questions and made great suggestions for our shoot. On the day of our shoot she arrived on time and was easy to get along with. For two individuals who have never had a photo shoot, her friendliness and easy going attitude made us feel comfortable which definitely showed in our pictures. She guided us through posing and made it look very natural. She knew the right angles to get the right lighting and shots. She captured exactly what I envisioned for our pictures. Although she had a wedding the day after our shoot, she took the time to edit and send me a few sneak peaks by the following day! We loved our pictures and received many compliments from family and friends. Overall great experience working with Beth! read more

Dekker Photography - Event Photography Near Me

Beth was absolutely fantastic to work with! From the first time we talked over the phone, her professionalism and knowledge stood out. My wife and I were so overwhelmed with planning the day, it was comforting to know that Beth was going to have out best interest in mind throughout the event. She knew little details that would help her get the best shot and was wonderful about directing us, even with the large group photos. We won an engagement photo shoot with Dekker Photography at a wedding show. I have to say, I wasn't not pleased with the idea of taking all the fancy pics. Boy was I wrong! The photo shoot was great! We look fantastic and because we were a little late getting the photos done, Beth and Amani, busted out prints that we were able to have on display at the wedding! I can't thank Beth and her team enough. From pinning boutonnieres to getting bridesmaids in their dresses, Beth owns the professional process, Dekker Photography is high on my list for future events! We can't wait to see the final shots! read more

Purchased the deal on Livingsocial (photo shoot hair and makeup). Worst photoshot experience of my life. Not only was Beth extremely hard to get hold of but I got rebooked way too many times. Then I was booked on Monday which was extremely hard to book a hair appointment as Hair Studios are closed Mondays. She was unresponsive on phone. The business studio was advertised being in the San Francisco Dogpatch area on Livingsocial but instead she asked for me to go into a rough area in Oakland. When I got to the studio I was astonished. The studio was quite small and very plain. I didn't feel the environment was going to do my photos justice. Beth was very bossy and admitted to be. I didn't feel comfortable with some of the positions that she requested me to do. Instead of Asking if I had any ideas of preferred positions I'd like to do or photography angling I put my trust into her but I unfortunately was wrong to do so. When we finished and I was getting changed, another client arrived and Beth didn't even acknowledge me or say good bye to me. I thought that was extremely rude. If you have clients you should never have back them back-to-back. The photos were supposed to be for my boyfriend working in Syria as a suprise for him when he came home. When Beth sent the photos to me...I was in tears and pissed. Every photo was horrible and not what I wanted at all. I sincerely felt like an amateur would have done a better job then her. The photos look cheap and unprofessional. I requested my money back And she refused to do so as I consulted with living social about the situation. I usually never leave bad reviews but Unfortunately, she decided not to care about me being a customer and making things right. read more

PLAIN RUDE! Complete waste of time. I had a LivingSocial coupon for this place and was super excited for this photo shoot...I even got my hair styled and bought cute shoes. My sister and I had appointments scheduled back to back so we decided to go together. We got to the studio right on time (we like being punctual...unlike some people) and no one was there. We rang the doorbell about 5 times...no answer. We called them....no answer. Left messages...no call back. By this time it was 15 minutes past our appointment...we were furious and decided to leave. I mean, who doesn't call their clients and tell them they're running late? Ah yes, Dekker! So, this rude lady (we don't know her name because she never bothered to introduce herself) calls us back....20 minutes past our appointment time (by this time we were on our way back home) and starts arguing saying she was there...then she contradicts herself and says she was there 2 minutes late. We were parked right smack in front of the friggin studio....we saw no one, not one person. So, instead of apologizing and asking what she could do to make it up (real professionals do this...it's called "service recovery") she argued and argued about her being there. What a liar! We saw no one enter the building the whole 15 minutes we were there. We are so furious and disappointed with this place....we will be sure to tell everyone we know :) Oh! My cousin has a coupon for this place as well....I'm going to make sure she doesn't bother going here. Dekker Photography is just plain rude and not customer friendly!!! read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could! Epic failure of an establishment! My wife had purchased a photography deal with Dekker Photography through a Living Social Deal. Big mistake! We had made the purchase a while ago but decided to wait until we were ready with the kids to go take some professional pictures. We booked the appointment for today (Saturday) at noon at the studio. Everything seemed okay up until today, since we had an e-mail confirmation that we were good to go. We had been planning how we were going to do this for the entire week leading up to the appointment since getting out of the house for us these days isn't easy. We have a 2.5 year old daughter and 11 week old twin boys so everything needed to be planned out. We also live about 45 minutes south of San Francisco and therefore had to plan to leave the house 1.5 hour before our session in order to have time to have lunch, feed the twins, and change our daughter into her dress for the pictures. Despite all of the craziness and preparation we went through, we made it to the studio at 11:55 AM (5 minutes to spare). We rang the doorbell but no answer. It went straight to voicemail. My initial thought was that this isn't a good thing. Was she with another client? Was she on location somewhere else and running late? Did she forget? Regardless of any of these scenarios, you would think that a professional place like this should have an administrative assistant or secretary to handle the front end with the customers. So we stood at the front of the office building for 30 minutes waiting for Beth (photographer) to show up, but nothing. We kept calling the office number every so often, but still nothing. We left a voicemail with our cell phone number so she could call us back, but we didn't receive any calls. One of our friends actually had an appointment with them last week outside the studio on location so she had Beth's cell phone number. So we gave Beth a call directly on her cell phone and left her a voicemail as well. Still no answer. We ended up going back to our car to wait and feed the twins since they were awake and hungry. By this time an hour had passed since our scheduled appointment without any acknowledgement by anyone at Dekker Photography. I was already livid and told my wife that even if Beth called, I was in no mood to take any pictures. We essentially wasted half of our Saturday and there's nothing we can do to get that back which is the thing that annoys me the most! As I am typing this review, it has been 10.5 hours since our appointment and we still have not received a call from anyone at Dekker Photography. I am demanding a full refund and then some (i.e. cost of gas to drive 90 miles round-trip and cost of parking in San Francisco meters which isn't cheap). This was our first experience with a professional photography studio and it definitely left a very bad taste in our mouth! Our recommendation is to go with someone else who is more professional and won't pull this kind of stuff with their clients! There's a reason why they only have 3.5 stars on average. Keep this kind of work up and it won't be long before it becomes 1 star. read more

I purchased a Living Social Deals coupon and booked the appointment about when it was going to expire and they accommodated my booking and rescheduling the appointment around my birthday because I wanted my boudoir shoot to be memorable. I went to get my makeup done by another company and it took them FOREVER, making me late to my photo shoot appointment - my fault. I get there and she seems annoyed - OK. I let her know that I hated the makeup job and I just needed to fix it a little bit, which seemed to bother her even more - I thought this photo shoot, which is timed any way, was for me to be happy with. She starts shooting and everything from there goes well. When I go to see the prints, I was happy with few of them, which was fine, because I only wanted a few. Lauren kept trying to convince me that more of the pictures came out well, which annoyed me a bit because she asked me to tell her why I didn't like them, which forced me to be critical of myself out loud. After all that, she said she would send me the proofs. I wasn't happy with the proofs for different reasons. I pointed them out and didn't get a response until over a month later when I had emailed pointing out that I hadn't received a response. She apologized and sent proofs that day. Then I asked for second revisions pointing out some odd differences from the first ones she had sent. So she emailed me again putting pictures side-by-side and being kind of rude about it. When you can read rude through email, there's a problem. So, I thanked her for the other work she did and moved forward. I went to pick them up when I had time and saw the pictures. Two of them looked great, but one of them looked odd as I had mentioned in one of the previous emails - one where I was the most nude in all of my photos, which was supposed to be the highlight of my celebrating my not-so-perfect body at a young enough and old enough age where I can appreciate it. She said she didn't see the problem and showed Beth - I think is her name (the photographer. Beth looked at it and replied with an attitude that she didn't know what I was talking about and that it looked fine, then walked away. I felt bullied and left with a picture I was unhappy with. There is too much attitude given to customers who are supposed to be having a great experience with very vulnerable moments. Because it was a coupon, I didn't fight as hard as I would have if I paid full-price. I guess they give you what YOU pay for. I've resolved to get another shoot when I can afford it. read more

Would definitely give this place zero stars if possible. The photographer is an ego maniac, attitude driven _ _ _ _. And her practice is to tell YOU what to do despite your own very simple, and basic ideas. Then to top it off, at the end, the package offered is about 1350 dollars and the Only real reasoning behind this is, "well I use the oldest framer in San Francisco, soooo....." Yeah, lady, I dont care. But stay till the end, a few weeks later an offer was made to purchase for only 235 dollars. Nice business practice. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable photographer that isn't only concerned with their own pathetic attempts of "artistry" while filling her pockets with as much of your money as possible, then to only lowball an offer later. Scum.. read more

Stunning photos, but expensive and slow. I used a Living Social deal to have pictures taken of our family. It was great that Beth was willing to come to our home on a weekend. The photo shoot was on July 30, and we had our viewing about a week later. We picked out our free print and ordered an additional print. Her per print cost was much more expensive than we have seen elsewhere. I was disappointed that we were not able to take home the included DVD then but would have to wait the quoted six weeks until our prints were ready. It turned out to be more like 9 weeks, which I thought was a long time to wait. (We weren't able to share the photos of our 16-month-old daughter until she was 19 months old.) Still, I don't regret the purchase. We and our friends are blown away by the quality of the pictures. read more

I had my boudoir photoshoot with Russie. I've done this one other time before so I knew what I did and did not want. Besides the fact that Russie is a beautiful woman herself, she is so easy going and yet professional. I felt like I had a friend taking my photos because she truly wanted to highlight my best features and make me happy rather than just say "everything looks good" and just pass the time since it's already paid for. Her photos turned out great - she gave me about 100 to pick from a few weeks after the session. I had bought the living social coupon for 2 5x7 prints + hair & makeup. I wanted to stay within $500 budget, just because these were just for me, not a gift to me or for anyone (though I certainly wish they were - any man reading this should take note ;) Even though the hair & makeup was nice, i wish I had spent that extra $100 on another high res photo because there were so many I liked. Suggestions? Bring multiple outfits and multiple shoes - you can always return the ones you don't use or don't want to keep so get a bunch of super cute stuff for this and Russie will help stage you with different backgrounds (and they even have a fan that blows into your hair which looks awesome)! If you end up liking your pics, be prepared to spend alot of money, for which, i did not take away any stars since I'm sure Russie doesn't set the prices, but it does run a bit much for a boudoir shoot just because it's hard to justify spending a ton of money on yourself, whereas if this was family portraits or wedding photos, i can see spending more would be validated. Haven't seen the actual proofs yet or gotten my photos, just seen the unedited snapshots, will update review after I have these. read more

My experience with Dekker photography was outstanding. I purchased a Groupon in 2012 for a shoot that was intended to be used for my band - to get a group shot to be used for promotional materials. The band broke up, and eventually I decided to use the shoot to get some shots of myself as a vocalist/solo performer. I have to admit that my expectations might have been a bit low - I hoped to get one usable shot. Because it was a Groupon deal, I somehow imagined I'd be working with an amateur who was trying to build their portfolio or something. I was surprised when I walked into the studio - the place is gorgeous - it's spacious and has a wealth of natural light pouring through the windows. Beth is extremely friendly and really knows what she's doing. In photo shoots I'd been in previously, I felt like the pressure was on me to be creative with poses and looks - she went way beyond just snapping shots - she was acting as producer/creative director/coach. I felt like she had a real vision based on my style and personality and she was able to lead me through it to create something great. I didn't just get one quality shot out of it, I got about 10 that I'm extremely happy with, that could be used for a poster, an album cover, a website cover shot. Afterwards, through talking to friends about the experience, I realized that Beth had also done all of the work on a friend's newborn photos and another friend's wedding. Also exceptional results! They really enjoyed working with her as well - and said that she made the experience fun. I am recommending the studio to all of my friends! To anyone looking for high quality photos. read more

I picked up my Boudiour photos from Beth last night and I absolutely love them! I was a little surprised to see the nasty reviews on her as well. I was extremely nervous about the whole shoot as I don't normally strip off clothing in front of strangers to be photographed but I had a nice time with Beth and her crew. She was very comforting and made me feel like it was NOT weird to be in my undies in front of her =) The pictures came out really professional, fresh, and I have to say I didn't even look like myself - that's probably why I liked them so much! My fiance was soooo excited to see them as well. I highly recommend these as a nice little gift for your husband to be! My only wish is that her prints were a bit more affordable. But I know her product is well worth the money. I just don't have any! =) Thanks again Beth! read more

I had the best time working with Beth and her staff last weekend....not only was the whole Boudoir experence fun and lighthearted but I felt totally relaxed even while flashing Giants stadium...-:) Beth made some really good wardrobe suggestions and I could not have been happier with the huge selection of options that I had to choose from when pictures came in (Super quick too by the way - so I could have them for my anniversary gift). Which the husband hasn't stopped drooling over yet...thank goodiness for frames lol... I would totally suggest to any one that wants to feel sexy and like a total rock star go see Beth and her crew....you will never look at yourself the same way again!!!! read more

I had the pleasure of being photographed by the lovely Beth and the experience was AMAZING. It was as good as sex--maybe even better :) DISCLAIMER: As of today I have not seen any of the photo's so can not comment on the final quality of products or cost associated with them. I can only comment on my experience leading up to the shoot and at the shoot itself.... Beth did a fantastic job in putting me at ease and making me feel sexy and beautiful. It was a really fun experience and I highly recommend her to anyone considering a boudoir shoot. I can't wait to see the photos! read more

Beth was our wedding photographer and we can't thank her enough! Planning a wedding is stressful, so it's an incredible weight off to work with someone who makes the process so easy. For two camera shy people, it was awesome to have a laid back photographer who put us and our guests at ease. Beth knows Sayulita very well and took us to great spots around town for our photos. I was nervous about taking photos but ended up having a blast. Beth also referred us to an officiant who we absolutely loved, and recommended a boat tour which we chartered with most of our wedding guests. Several of them remarked that it was the best day they'd ever had. Thanks again, Beth! read more

I loved the photo session I had with Dekkar for our Christmas cards last year. She was a bit pricy but the quality as superior.

I was not going to write a review, given that my sister provided a 100% accurate depiction of what ocurred on Saturday morning. This extremely unprofessional person should have arrived EARLY- not on time (which she failed to do as well)- but early- to set up and arrive before her clients. She's changed her story, from saying that someone was in her studio when we were there, to her saying she was running late due to traffic. Surely, nothing is ever her fault. Here's a very basic business rule Beth- The customer is ALWAYS right. Don't make us sound like idiots that arrived at the wrong location. I can probably produce a receipt from the parking meter where we parked- directly in front of your studio. When we dialed the number on the door indicating "Drekker Photography" are you really saying that we were still in the wrong location? The problem here is that you do not know how to provide customer service. Yes, I absolutely hung up on you. I asked you to stop lying to me about being there because you had first told me you were there on time, then recanted. I hung up on you when you continued to lie AND when you raised your voice at me. That is completely unacceptable and I will not take it. All you needed to do was say "I'm sorry I was late, can we reschedule?" That was it. Instead, you wanted to argue until your face turned blue. I don't have time for that. I have had excellent experiences with other photographers that have been on time (actually, ahead of time, waiting for me) and have delivered exceptional customer service- you are not one of them. And please don't contact me to remove my rating- it's my experience, it's 100% honest and I will not remove it. read more

HORRIBLE Service. We have waited several weeks just to hear back from Beth (the photographer). I have emailed and called several times and do not get a response. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Paid money for low quality pictures and there were only a couple I would consider "good" pictures. Way overpriced as well. For example, she wants over $600 for save the date cards, when you could easily go somewhere else and get them for under $100. You also don't get copyrights to your prints for all the money you pay. The slideshow she "included" in our package was horrible. There was nothing personal about it. It said "My slideshow" and the pictures were too small to see. POOR SERVICE. read more

Think twice if you are considering a web deal with Dekker. As a photographer, Beth is 5 stars. So many beautiful shots were taken at our engagement session, As a professional, my husband and I were extremely disappointed. She forgot that she assured me an appointment for engagement photos via email and had to squeeze in our photo shoot into her schedule without giving us the option of picking a location, lost our appointment for our viewing session, and the worst of all - sent us our "high-res" photo that was only high res for a 4x6 print. I paid $100 for one high-res jpeg so I would expect that I could blow it up to poster size. I emailed her to point out the mistake and she said, "I don't know how this happened!" and sent me a new image. I asked the photography teacher that I know to take a look at the file. The new image she sent is high res for an 8x110 enlargement - nothing more. I know we got a deal on the photography session but this is totally unacceptable for a full-price product. If we wanted the CD with the images it would have been $700. I saw there is a boudoir session deal today, so be aware of what you'll pay if you want digital images. read more

DO NOT BUY THEIR GROUPON DEALS. It's equivalent to spam, aka steals your money!! I, like so many other helpers below, was foolish enough to buy their Valentines Day shoot, that they advertised an an hour session for $99 on livingsocial. Great! I thought... Until I called numerous times and left two voicemails with no response. It seems the elusive "Beth" works on a TBD schedule, not T-S : 9am-5pm ( someone should fix their hours... Also false advertisement...) read more

I would suggest if you decide to go with Dekker Photography, do not make any rash decisions. Take your time to think things through because I was burned by them several times. When they say that you can make changes anytime so as long as the photo is not printed, take that with a grain of salt. Every time they told me that, it was the opposite. I was told that changes could not be made. And even when they told me that something would be fixed when printed, it was not. In the end was an album that I spent over $1000 on that was not what I wanted. I would suggest going into there studio to look at the adjustments made to the photos. And if something is printed without the proper corrections, they will blame it on something stupid that makes no sense so you will have to pay for any changes. Just a little caution... when one of the pages of my album was printed without making the proper correction, Beth said to me, "I am running a business, I can't just give things away for free." Hey, I spent over $1000 on this album. I think most people will agree that I am not asking for something free. I just want to be happy with it since I am spending $$$$. I just wanted to right her wrong. So just be careful since they will not correct their mistakes. I would suggest going into the studio at least before you okay for the printing so you make sure everything is EXACTLY what you want because if it's not, they will only fix THEIR mistake at YOUR cost! But for the premium price they charge I would rather go somewhere else where they DO care about their clients. Now THAT is how you are supposed to run a business! Not nickel and dime you for everything... especially when the mistake was not my fault! read more

The good: The print came faster than expected (though still not fast enough for our Christmas trip to give to grandma). The bad: The "web ready" images are even smaller and less useful than I expected -- 100kb apiece. That means they're useful for thumbnails and that's about it. They look bad on our TV (and one idea she tried to sell me on was that we can have a slide show -- yeah, sure, on my iPhone). The first CD had the watermark on all the images because they forgot to give it to us without. We had to go back to get another CD. All in all, I'm still really disappointed that we wasted our time. The upside is that instead of spending $700 on one photo shoot, we spent it on a really nice digital SLR shortly afterward. If we hadn't had a bad experience, we probably wouldn't have done it. With the new camera, we took our own shots of the baby at 13 months and they came out beautifully! read more

The experience started out great and gradually slid into the dirt. We wanted an setting outdoors and Beth recommended the Palace of Fine Arts, which was a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L location (several wedding parties were using this locale as well). She has a pretty keen eye for 'moment' and I have some sweet snaps to cherish. The issues was in the service and the final product. After the viewing it was a month before to produce the final product. I had to contact her to get the pictures only to receive a DVD of pictures with the Dekker logo plastered over them! (that makes them proofs and not what was advertised) The 'touched' print has white specks on subjects clothing - this obviously won't be displayed front & center on my fireplace mantel. If you want repeat business and good recommendation, the 'total' experience should be awesome, not just certain parts. read more

They are awesome photographers and take great pictures like you won't see elsewhere. They are very expensive, always late with calling back or getting things delivered on time. Mark and I just got married a few weeks ago and we wanted to commend Dekker for capturing our day with such perfection. We instantly loved Laura from the first meeting and we knew her style was exactly what we wanted. The engagement photos were quick and painless which is how we liked it since we were a little shy in front of the camera. We wanted non traditional pictures in that we didn't want your typical formal wedding shots. We wanted fun care-free moments that captured the day with ease. On the actual wedding day, there is enough going on around you that you take comfort in certain moments. I have to say that having Laura and Cody there made the day so special. I felt like half the time, I had no idea where they were which was so nice because I don't feel like we had a camera in our face at all. Laura was so easy going and knew exactly where to capture the right moments. We were lucky in that our venue offered the perfect back drop for wedding photos, but Laura had such great ideas and went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect shot. I have never seen two people work so hard and continue to make us laugh and ensure that we were always at ease. It was a true pleasure to have them as part of the day. After the wedding we met with Beth who we also love for her fun personality and over the top creativity. She had all of our photos laid out in sequences so we didn't feel overwhelmed. The process of selecting our album was seamless. The only part that was hard for me to stomach was the cost of the album. I would just say that be prepared in knowing how many pages you are buying in your package and understand what the cost differentiation would be to add pages. It was pricey but the process and the final product was well worth it. Both Laura and Beth are talented women who have the best personalities to compliment the whole wedding experience. I would highly recommend them for your wedding photos! read more

I feel like all my recent reviews start with the phrase "I found a deal on Living Social," but this one will be no different. I got the package for a Boudoir photo shoot, inclusive of hair, makeup, 1 hour shoot, DVD of images and 2 5x7 prints. I had very high expectations for the shoot, and while Dekker certainly didn't fall short, it was a bit lackluster. Bottom-line - good makeup & hair, good props, fun, but cut short by 20 minutes. The prep: I showed up a couple minutes early for my 4pm hair/makeup appointment, but they were running behind - there was a 2nd customer still getting her hair & makeup done, and a 3rd still finishing up her shoot. 20 minutes later girl #3 is finally finished, so girl #2 gets started, and I'm in the makeup chair. The makeup artist was really sweet and did a great job - having been made up for weddings before, I know what good color and shading look best on me, and she was spot on (if maybe a bit too tan). We finished up, and though my shoot was supposed to start at 5, it wasn't started until 5:20 (which at the time felt reasonable since girl #2 was entitled to a full hour for her shoot, as was I). The shoot: Beth and I got started and it was a good time! I have lots of lingerie so she helped me pick out the most fun pieces with the best color, and what we could do with them. She was very good at giving me directions like "tilt your chin this way" or "let's get one with eyes down and now eyes up." I really appreciated the direction, especially because I'm a curvaceous type lady, so I wanted to make sure my shots come out curvy and not...large. She was very sweet to show me some of the shots along the way. My only complaint is that promptly at 6pm she ended the shoot - I was the last shoot of the day and she had a viewing appointment at 6. I understand she was caught between a rock and a hard place, but I was annoyed that I got cut short by 20 minutes. At the time I didn't say anything because I wasn't even sure what time it was until I was already changed back into my street clothes and we were scheduling my viewing. By then, the couple had already arrived for their appointment and I felt uncomfortable arguing the point. My hope is that when I go for my viewing there will be enough wonderful, glamorous shots to make those lost 20 minutes simply an example of their efficacy, instead of a lost opportunity for more/better shots. I would have preferred there have been a conversation or acknowledgement of the time shortage so that could be cleared up (for example, "Well we got so many great shots, I don't think we even need the full hour!"). The viewing/photos: Updated 11/18 to include my picture results. When I arrived I was greeted very warmly by everyone. Beth then sat down with me letting me know she'd seen my Yelp review and wanted to both thank me for the good feedback, and address the concerns I'd brought up. While there clearly can't be much resolution to the feelings I left with last time, I am definitely impressed that she had the moxie to confront the problems professionally and maturely and try her best to make me a satisfied customer. That gets kudos in my book, so I raised my review from 3 to 4 stars. As for the photos themselves, there are some serious winners! I will update again when the finished product is done in 6 weeks. read more

I went here because I had a groupon for a boudoir photo shoot, which I was intending on giving to my fiancé on our wedding day. I was nervous because I had never done anything like this before. Russie, the assistant, greeted me with a huge smile and have me a glass I wine to help relax me. They were interests in seeing all the goodies I had brought for the shoot and really took the time to help me get comfortable. After hair and makeup, I changed into my first outfit and we got started. The photographer was wonderful. She gave me suggestions on how to pose and gave me tips on what to do to have my photos turn out amazing. I got to shoot with three different outfits, with lots of poses and in several different "scenes." I had a lot of fun and my photos turned out amazing. The only drawback is the pricing. If you want them to give you prints or any wall hangings, or photo books, it is going to cost u a bit. I originally wanted to do a photo book but it was over my price range. I ended up getting 8 prints an a metal wall hanging which cost over $600 ( not including the $200 already spent for just the shoot). I am happy with the way it turn out, I just wish the prices were not so high. My now husband, absolutely loved his gift and I am completely satisfied with the whole experience, just be aware, you are going to spend some $! read more

Beth did an outstanding job of photographing three of our five grandchildren as newborns, and following two of them into their toddler years. Her work is creative. I had a living social deal and did a boudoir photo shoot with Beth. I had makeup and hair done by her assistant and had the time of my life. I brought a suitcase of clothing and Beth was confident in her choices and went with it. We did 4 costume changes, wine, snacks and excellent music choices were included. She has an eye for lines, angles and art. She was great at making me feel comfortable in next to nothing. all in all, i spent probably a bit more than i had hoped for (lingerie, pieces of clothing, hair, makeup, photos) but i went with the flow and i would say it would be difficult to put a price on such an amazing experience and a memory that will never be forgotten. I ended up buying about 10 photos and Beth did an excellent job. they came out both classy and sexy. i would definitely recommend this company. I hope to do another shoot with this company in the future. Beth- if you ever do go about getting a stripper pole, I'm in to practice poses for you for fun! Thank you Dekker Photography for a job well done!! :) Raquel R. read more

Beth took both my maternity photos and the first photos of our daughter when she was about 5 days old. At both photo shoots, I felt completely comfortable and I cannot express how happy we are with all of the photos! It's not easy to make someone 8+ months pregnant feel attractive, but Beth totally accomplishes it. She's pays a lot of attention to details in all of her photo setups. Beth also has a huge number of adorable props for baby shoots - blankets, an antique scale, wraps, etc. She designed a super-cute baby announcement for us with her photos. We look forward to photos over the next months & years with Beth. read more

Overpriced and crappy photos. For more than $100 you'll get one 8x10" photo and a disk with a few unprocessed photos of resolution 700x466. That is not enough to print and, btw, they keep all rights on the photos so they can sue you if you publish or print them. Also, make watch out for the drapes that they hang behind you so they doesn't fall on you (and your baby if you making family photo). Overall, if you have a friend that can shoot a DSLR and none-to-beginners skills of photo processing - that arguably would be better than Dekker photography. read more

I purchased the Valentine's Day Living Social deal. Lauren was great. She made the shoot fun and exciting. I went in yesterday to meet with her to look at my photos and she was very helpful in helping me pick the better ones I am looming forward to going back and having her do a shoot with my fiance and our dogs. read more

Just had an absolutely wonderful boudoir photo shoot and would highly recommend it to anybody. I was rather surprised to read about Beth's "unprofessionalism", since my experience was just the opposite. Not only was everything prompt, but there was also plenty of time allocated for both, the shoot and the viewing. I had my doubts about the make-up and hair, which appeared to accentuate my age (damn toners :-)) but Beth assured me that this would look different in the photos... and, indeed, I looked fresh (or, according to my husband, startling and smoking hot), contrary to my original concerns. Beth has an amazing selection of products. Believe me, I've done my share of albums from Kodak Gallery and Picaboo, - they don't even begin to come close. Yes, the price is exponentially higher, but you simply can't get the product of this level from a mass producer. We worked with other photographers before, so we have some benchmarks. Beth's studio is stylish, her approach is friendly, her suggestions are poignant, her product is high-quality and her price is in line with other photographers of her level. Trust me, if she can make an overweight 37 year old mother of two look incredible in lingerie, SHE IS IN FACT AMAZING. read more

Beth at Dekker photography made our engagement photo shoot a ton of fun. I'm happy with the results and would suggest that if you like her style than definitely give her a call. She's got a great personality so she made the otherwise somewhat forced posing my fiance and I were both not looking forward to feel fun and comfortable. The photos we ended up choosing all look natural like friends just caught us being who we are, which to us was the best result possible. read more

I can't thank Beth enough for all her help making our wedding day absolutely magical! She not only played the role of wedding planner, I now consider her a dear friend. We went to Sayulita Mexico on vacation, when my then boyfriend proposed and followed it up with another proposal, "would you want to get married down here in a few days?". He knew me pretty well because I said yes to both! He had an officiant and photographer lined up on stand by. We then met up with Beth the next night and through the next couple days Beth helped me find my dress, jewelry, flowers, lined up my hair and nails. She not only played the role of wedding planner, she also did an amazing job on our photos! We then had her do our photos up near San Francisco at our party we through for friends and family. She is so talented and is an all around amazing person! I can't praise her enough! read more

My husband and I worked with Beth from Dekker for our October 2008 wedding and we could not have been happier! From the moment I met Beth at a wedding Expo and found out that she was already familiar with shooting at our church I knew she would be a perfect photographer for our wedding. She was very responsive and proactive during the planning process and was one of our only vendors who I never had to hunt down for an answer to a question. On the wedding day itself Beth and her assistant were great. They dealt with our large wedding party with ease, and totally blended in during the ceremony and reception. Afterward I could not believe some of the great shots they got. Beth has a wonderful artistic eye and we got some amazing shots up in the Marin headlands. We haven't seen our album yet but if the proofs are any indication of the quality I know it will be amazing! read more

Who said Beth is great???? you might reconsider!!!!! i simply will list a few thing that make Dekker Photography (BETH) a poor and overpriced service!!! - her instructed post is so uncomfortable, but i did it anyway since i was hoping with a professional view and through her viewfinder it might look different, but NOT!!! the post came out funny, stiff, and make me look so not natural esp. how could a so-called professional photographer couldn't see that crooked arms and legs position??? i specifically asked her shoot us at one particular spot where i found a friend of mine had her done w/ another photographer. hers was amazing, mine look STUPID when she didn't aimed where i wanted but instead the images included the door, the floor and ugly walls when i wanted the architectural ceiling. - waited for the viewing part, guess what? the resolution on her screen was not sharp and so small that you could barely see your face expression. WORST is when she asked us to pick from there of what we wanted to print. how in the world could i do that when i'm not even sure my eyes were opened or blinked nor which image show the best expression on my face since i couldn't see the details. - when it come to the DVD that she would release, it was completely surprised us when it's for viewing only, we can't print nor do anything with it. the viewing-only images was not even a good size nor resolution for viewing regardless how big your screen is, it's only show as large as literally 4x6 size with the logo all over the images. - and if you want her to print the images for you? OMG... the price is unbelievable.... she overpriced every single product that is available at her studio while you could get for so cheap elsewhere, but your images is stuck w/ her. - when you consider a copyrights to get your high resolution DVD, the price for the DVD is "skyrocket" - except for the good camera she got there, nothing else is good. even my friend think i just threw a good deal of money out of the window for such a poor service. Again, with a good deal on social living, yet with that price you will get stuck with her, even if your image looks great, you're looking at a great deal of money to get it printed from her cuz she won't give you the high resolution for it to be print elsewhere. so why waste your time taking picture and pay $75 or $99 when you won't have anything considering good afterward? beware of her advertisement on LivingSocial deal cuz it's not deal after all!!! sorry Beth, but you are just not good enough for the price you listed there! read more

Beth is very nice and makes the experience of having pictures taken enjoyable however, wayyyyy overpriced to buy any final products. We walked away with a poor quality DVD we can't really do anything with. The one touched up photo we received with our package did come out nicely. read more

Absolutely horrible attitude and customer service from Beth at Dekker. The "deal" from Living Social has turned into a nightmare. Look at the large numbers of dissatisfied people who've written reviews. I wish I had prior. read more

It was Living Social, my BFF, and luck that brought me to Dekker Photography. Having recently been diagnosed with breast cancer I wanted photos taken of me prior to my surgery because I knew that the person I was inside and out will never be the same after surgery. I could not have asked for a better photographer than Beth. I decided to go by myself because of it being personal as well as emotional. I walked in and Beth immediately advised me of my make up. I had my make up done at MAC and I knew it was too much but did not have time to have the make up artist redo it. (I looked like a clown!) Off the bat in her sweet voice she advised me to take as much off. I was so glad that she told me rather than start shooting. After I fixed my face we looked at all my outfits and Beth helped me decide which ones I should use. I was of course shy and nervous. I told her I don't really know what poses will work. But Beth being such the pro she said, "leave it up to me". I did leave it up to her and she not only instructed me on my different poses but she also fixed my hair and made sure it was tossed right etc! After a few shots Beth gave me a peek and I was taken back from what I saw. At that moment, I felt I was beautiful because the photo was beautiful. After the session I could not wait to come back to view my photos. I brought my BFF with me to view them. We were seated in front of a huge flat screen TV as we looked at each shot. It was hard to decide which photos I loved and liked because Beth's work is amazing and tasteful. Most importantly she is one awesome person to work with because she cared just as much as I did about my photos and what that day meant to me. She is professional, fun, and so easy to work with. She takes her time even though your session says an hour. I had a lot of fun and will definitely come back for my "after surgery" photos! read more
