I have been going to Deka Lash for awhile now. The last 3 times have been awful. The first time I thought it was the tech's fault. All of my lashes fell out in 5 days. All the other times I had them done they stayed on for weeks. I complained and they told me that since I didn't contact them within 3 days there was nothing they could do. I explained that I was on vacation (the reason I had them done) they finally redid them for a cheaper price. The 2nd and third time they fell out within a few days again. The techs work looked beautiful. I think they changed the glue they use. I know I was stupid for going back but I did. I will never go there again!!!!!! All that for 195.00 what a rip off. I had an appointment as a lash model on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 with Lauren who is a beginner to becoming a lash tech at Deka Lash in Carrollwood, Tampa, Florida. I was rather excited as I have never had eye lashes applied before. I have an upcoming event that is rather important to me next week and I thought it would be great to have them on to help add some confidence. During the process, I felt Lauren did a great job however I thought she would be monitored by a licensed lash tech guiding her throughout the two hours it took. I understand she is just starting off however the finished product goes towards her completion of the course. I followed her instructions that were given but I noticed the very next morning when I woke up at 6 am that more than half of the eye lashes on each eye fell out. I was not going to complain but I also felt that this soon to be lash tech should respectably be informed of her "lack of" successful work without the proper guidance she should have had. I reached out to Deka Lask in Carrollwood to let them know about this service. I was told that "she is new, she's learning but if I wanted to come in to be with a licensed lash tech I could for a 30% discount". I was appalled that I was told this instead of them trying to rectify the situation as "I am wearing partial lashes representing Deka Lash's work". I did tip $30 on this free service which of course is much more than the suggested tipping amount of their tipping chart that is displayed. I honestly would have not set up this service if I knew these new lash techs were not monitored or how this situation is being handled. I now have to have the eye lashes that are left removed for an additional fee plus tip because of the lack of service performed. I really hope in the future that the managers actually manage their staff with guidance "for success"... read more

The pros: For lashes they are great!! I had to stop getting them bc i developed an allergic reaction (i think to the glue)so everytime i got them my eyes were swollen and sore for a few days but that is not their fault! Was always happy with my lashes and they last weeks sometimes up to a month if you take care of them. location is also super clean and the lash artists are friendly. the cons: unfortunately this location charged my card not once but twice for charges I did not approve. The first time i was told another customer had my card on file?? I'm not sure how someone else could just charge my card without anything ever being said to me about it and the second time i noticed a charge that wasn't me, after contacting several times they refunded me but when I asked why my card was charged again no one ever replied to me. So if you do decide to go here keep track of the charges so you can catch any charges that may not be you. read more

The person who did my eyebrows was nice and that's the only reason for 2 stars. I asked for a brow lamination and tint and she never actually took off any eyebrow hairs not apart of the shape or tint so I still have to go get it waxed. Waste of $109. read more

I would do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. The new owner argued with me like a child and told me she was a teacher and had a full time job as if this wasn't her priority. The clients don't matter the only thing that matters if the collect your fee. I have a credit there I was going to use for merchandise as advised was possible by the call center they force you to communicate through and the owner called me trying to get me to schedule a service and when advised I'd use the credit for merchandise she said it was absolutely not allowed. Now I'm being called a liar saying the call center never told me that, I'm out the money, being insulted and the owner arguing with me like I'm one of her students, told me I was rude and continued to argue and the hung up on me. Go find a professional salon because it's not here. read more

I purchased a lash service at an introductory rate of $99. My intent was to try them out about a month before my wedding/honeymoon to see if I could tolerate them since I never had extensions before. I planned that if I was able to tolerate them, I would return to have them redone for the wedding. I was very clear about my plan when I made the first appointment and the staff told me it wasn't a problem. My first appointment resulted in beautiful lashes. The style that the tech helped me select didnt look overdone or too "fake". The entire staff was very nice/professional and the chair was comfortable. I was very pleased! However, imagine my surprise when I called for an appointment a month later and was quoted $250 for the same exact service!! I expected it to be more than the introductory rate, but not more than double. The business model of a subscription service does not work for everyone. Apparently the "special occasion" customer was left out of the business plan. (I dont want to wear extensions all the time.) It's sad, because if it was reasonable, I would return a few times a year for those special occasions. (Like holiday time) Im sure my few services a year doesn't pay the all the shop's bills, but customers like me help fill the gaps. read more

Loved the ambiance of the shop, Jasmine was Excellent!! Knowledgable, answered all my questions and in the explaining of the Membership program she did not hard sell me. She just explained the specifics of it and was just a sheer delight to chat with while she was doing my lashes. I like that they have a membership program but I'm not sure it's worth it because their lash tech seems inexperienced. I had a full set about 2 weeks ago upon returning for a fill yesterday with a different lash tech I was in so much pain as she was trying to remove lashes that we're stuck together on a single extension. Lashes as supposed to be one to one not one to many. That's why the isolation technique is so important. She was able to get some of them unstuck but at a great deal of pain. They are convenient but I'm highly considering canceling my membership and going to a different studio moving forward. read more

I would really advise against going to Deka Lash to get your lashes done. I went and less than a week after the fact, half of my lashes had fallen out. I was literally doing everything I was told in order to maintain them from falling out but it was probably something to do with the glue they use. Despite the fact most of my lashes fell out, the manager and girl who did my lashes were very nice to me so they get 3 stars for that. But otherwise, I would seriously go somewhere else to get your lashes done. read more

Thank you Deka (and Jasa) for my beautiful lashes. When I was first looking through the website, I started the process of scheduling an appt and then decided to wait until my current extensions fell out completely. Shannon called me to ask how she could help and I explained what I was waiting on and that I was unhappy with my currently lash girl because the retention was terrible and lashes are not a cheap upkeep. A couple of weeks later, I set up my appointment with Deka. I was immediately greeted and was walked through entering my information and signing some online forms. I had my eyebrows tinted and then moved on to my eyelashes. Both looked amazing. I also received a follow up call/voicemail from Shannon to ask how my appt was. Fast forward two weeks to my fill in appt. the retention of my extensions was the best that I have ever had. And once again, the staff was so friendly and I walked out with beautiful lashes again. You can pay for each fill or you can join a monthly membership depending on your going forward wants. Either way, it's a win! read more

Started great. Lash tech was sweet. Chairs are comfy. I had an TrueXpress appointment at 1:30. We got started about 10 minutes early (love that!) But I didn't leave until after 3pm, almost 2hrs later (hate that!). In fact a few times during the appointment I questioned if the lash tech and I were on the same page with what I'm suppose to be getting done because it was taking awhile for what they advertise as something to choose when you're running on a time crunch. Before we started she asked how I wanted my lashes to look, and the length. I explained I wanted them multiple lengths kinda wispy but full. Once my 2hr appointment was finished, it looked like barely any lashes were there. I just assumed it was full enough to get by on an "express" set. Cut to 3 days into my lashes. And the majority of them, already gone. Now when I say gone. I mean chunks on my lashes bare because the lashes used on "express" are clumps of 3-4 lashes. It makes it look extremely bare when 3 or more of the 3-4 clumps fall out. I'm super disappointed with the result. I love getting my lashes done. It's always hard to know if it's the product or the technicians fault when things like this happen. Regardless of it being a Groupon, it was poor product and poor product placement. I felt like this was a waste of both my money and my time. I probably would have gone back to get them re done but I was already out of town on vacation and had no other choice, also would I have though considering how terrible they were to begin with. Free set of classic eyelash extensions and I rather not had wasted 2 hours. I normally fall asleep during an eyelash appointment but I left with a headache. Technicians phone was next to my head vibrating half the time and too much pressure applied from technician on to my head and face. At least 10-15 have already fallen out. read more

I had my lashes done last Friday, by a master tech Jasmin, next day I had to returned I losted like 5-6 cluster. I went out of town for a week every day lashes were falling. Today i called and their phone system does not connect to anyone. Even wyhen I requesed a call. Nobody has call back. I thought it was nice and pretty the first day, but to have one week and I am back to hardly no lashes left. I dont recommend this place. period. Such a great experience every time I come to this studio, they will literally go out of their way to satisfied every client, I feel like people are so quick to post a bad review but don't mention the good things . The owners are very welcoming, studio is always clean, the VIBE it's great! It's such a relaxing place to be in. I don't see how you can walk out unhappy. The first time I visited this place heather was the one that did my lashes and she did amazing on me! Then I decided to come back for a next visit and I was hoping I would get heather again but instead I got a girl named Selena and I honestly did not like my experience with her at all. She did my lashes too quick and did not fill them in properly at all. My lashes looked like there wasn't even a fill at all, I was very sad because I literally had to pay 120 dollars for something that was not good work. Like 120 dollars I dropped for a shitty job and it makes me upset. My top lashes we stuck to my bottom lashes it was so hard for Selena to unstick my lashes together. If I could tell you how much pain I was in when I was trying to open my eyes, I was literally panicking because this girl didn't know how to put lashes on correctly. My eyes were so watery that I basically lost lashes while I was in there cause Selena was going in on my eye to get my eye open and I was literally scared for my life. I've never had this happened to me after a year of doing my lashes. I honestly wouldn't book an appointment with Selena if you want to have a good job on you, go with heather she was gentle and so amazing on the work she did on me on my first visit. I'm still very upset about my lashes cause as of today it looks like I don't have lashes on..... very very upset. I love my lashes and these are not the best work I've had. read more

So I got a gift card for Deka Lash I was originally concerned because I saw so many bad reviews. I walked in and the workers were so nice to me. This was my first time and I had a couple questions. They made me feel so welcomed and I felt so secure. I will definitely be coming back again and recommending this place to everyone. My eyelashes have not fallen out. I get my lashes done by Jazzy and she is well informed, and she does such a great job and my lashes always look full and fabulous! My experience was when I walked up to my friend she wanted to know what happened as in to say, why didn't you get your lashes done. My lashes look barely any different than when I walked into the shop. After my lashes were done, my eyesight was a little blurry so I figured it couldn't have been as bad as it was when I looked into my mirror at home. What's worse, lashes were falling out before I even left the salon and by the time I'm writing this my right eye has many lashes missing the left has a few missing as well. So I got my lashes done for the first time yesterday and was so excited to have this process done. The google reviews were awesome so I was looking forward to the whole experience... the girl who did mine had really nice lashes and I told her I'd like a natural look with more length and fuller she gave my natural with not a lot of length and not very full. I feel like I'd still need mascara if I were to do a full face of makeup which she told me I wouldn't need with these eyelash extensions.. also to top it off when she was done my right eye was so irritated because when she taped down my bottom lashes she ended up scratching my eye. She told me the reason my eye was so red was because they were closed for a long time and it should clear right up. It's 6:15 am the following day and my eye is still red and still irritated. I'm so disappointed. I'm not sure if I'll ever do this again. Definitely not worth the money. read more
