Small Palestinian cafe with delicious specialty coffee and matcha choices with small bite options. Seating is not vast but very cozy feel. Expect some wait time as there isn't much help all the time but the coffee is worth it! The spiced banana latte is prob the BEST banana latte I've ever had. They used fresh banana and it was balanced well. A little bit on the sweeter side for me, but you can customize sweetness! Pistachio matcha and golden lotus latte are also phenomenal! Parking is not the best; took some time to find street parking and you may have to walk a bit. read more

Have driven by Deir constantly but unfortunately my job keeps me busy 7-6 daily. Was lucky enough to hit them on Labor Day and hey we're open! Everyone was super friendly and I was pleased and the utilization of such a small area. These were by far some of the tastiest drinks I've had and the food looked delicious. Deir Cafe has delicious, well-priced coffee with a handful of unique flavors you don't find anywhere else in Nashville. It's a newer spot in the Wedgewood-Houston area and proudly Palestinian-owned, which makes it even more special! I tried the Golden Lotus Latte (Lotus Biscoff, salted caramel, milk, double-shot natural process espresso, topped with Biscoff crumbles), and it was SO good. If you love a sweet coffee, you have to try this one. A quick heads-up: parking can be pretty tricky. There are only about five or six street spots out front, and the nearest garage is $17. Seating inside is also extremely limited inside, so pickup is probably your best bet. I'll definitely be back soon to try the Pistachio Latte! read more

I generally only drink black iced coffees but decided to get a little treat and the coffees here were AMAZING!!!! It was super packed when I went but the workers are super efficient and so kind! It is overall a small location so hard to find seating but so worth stopping by to try the amazing drinks. read more

Visited November 14, 2025. Stopped by on a Friday evening for a pick-me-up drink, and the drinks themselves were very good. The space is small and cozy, seating around 20 people give or take. Service was mid. Not rude, just giving very "I'm here to make drinks, not decisions." To be fair, she makes fantastic drinks, so it's okay. The ordering process was a bit confusing. There's a QR code for the menu when you walk in, but no obvious place to order, and we weren't greeted or directed. We ended up standing around until we wandered further in and found the register on our own. Some tables still had crumbs or smudges from previous customers. Parking is either on the street or in the nearby garage, which costs about $12 for two hours. The banana spice latte was delicious with thick foam and a strong cardamom note, and the pistachio latte was even better. read more

A tiny cafe offering the trendiest matcha and coffee options. Vibes: The cafe has a very cute but chaotic atmosphere. I headed here because it was all over TikTok, but on my way, I realized many others had the same idea. The space works, but the design doesn't. It's more of a grab-and-go spot than a place to sit. Drinks: Their menu is very elaborate, which makes this place stand out in a city full of cafes. I got the Dubai chocolate latte, while my husband chose the pistachio foam latte. Though they looked the same, they tasted different. The coffee was a little too sweet, but I admit it was delicious. It felt more like a rich dessert in a cup than a typical caffeine drink. Still, it was a nice change from my usual coffee. Value for money? Honestly, their portions are a bit smaller than the standard at most other cafes. And hence the coffee might seem a little expensive, but it's justified considering the quality of ingredients and the nuts used in these drinks. What disappointed me? The cafe and its concept are great, but the staff's attitude left me feeling out of place. I sensed a lack of warmth and basic courtesy during my visit. Finally got the chance to come here with my sister. The coffee itself is good, strong, and smooth depending on which one you get. Highly recommend it. It's a small coffee shop and they do have public parking garage in the back or you can street park. What I ordered was the Pistachio Latte: Pistachio foam, ground pistachio, pistachio syrup, oat milk, double shot natural process espresso, only iced. Warning: It contains Nuts In my opinion, the coffee itself good and pretty smooth. After mixing, tasted even better. My sister ordered the Banana Spice Latte: Banana blended with rich dates, warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of cardamom. If you like spices, this is the drink for you. Definitely a strong nutmeg and cardamom....me personally, not the biggest fan but the coffee is really good. read more

Cute cafe, but the strawberry matcha was just strawberry milk. I didn't taste or see any strawberry puree, just strawberry cold foam. Still yummy, just not nearly enough matcha! For context, I make my own matcha at home with Uji matcha from Japan. The heating is mostly in the first room, which only has 3 tables. However, I love their selection of drinks, the barista was super sweet, and I look forward to trying their coffee drinks. They have quite an extensive menu, and I'm willing to give them another try. Tried Deir Cafe after finding it on TikTok, and it has a pretty unique setup, it just happens to be located in what I think was an apartment, which gives it a cozy and interesting vibe. It's a nice atmosphere to sit down and get some work done. The staff were very nice and helpful when it came to navigating the menu, which I appreciated. That said, the drinks didn't live up to what I was expecting. I tried the Baklawa and Mazaj lattes, and both were pretty underwhelming, mostly tasted like milk and sugar with just a slight hint of the flavors they were supposed to have. I got small sizes, and the total still came out to around $17, which feels pretty steep for what you get. I probably wouldn't go back for the drinks, but the atmosphere and friendly staff were definite positives. The food looked good, though I didn't get a chance to try it this time. read more

Been to this place 3 times in the span of a week. It's that good. I've only tried their popular drinks - the pistachio lattes. I've had both the coffee and the matcha. I loveeeed the matcha the first time around. I went back today for another one; a different employee made my drink, and the matcha part wasn't good because it was extra milky (see the photos), but overall, the drink was better because of the pistachio cream. The pistachio cream is creamy and nutty. It makes the drinks decadent. The coffee is strong. The menu is extensive, so I want to try other drinks, but I am so hooked on the pistachio lattes!! The inside is small and cozy. Street parking is limited in front of the building, but there's more across the street. read more

I had been hearing a lot about Deir via social media so decided to finally try it. It's located in Wedgwood tucked away below an apartment complex and almost looks like an apartment itself inside. Upon entry, it looked bigger than it was on the inside, but is very very small. That is the only thing I wish was different so I could sit inside and enjoy the coffee since there is limited seating. Other than that, the coffee was one of the best I've ever had. I ordered an iced oat milk latte with banana cold foam and the cold foam was made with fresh bananas (similar to La La land cold foam). The espresso was strong and flavorful and had the perfect ratio with the milk. The ladies who worked there were nice and efficient as well. This for sure ranks top 3 of the best coffee experiences I've had in Nashville! read more

I tried this spot out for the first time as I was wanting a good matcha. It didn't disappoint. I had the iced ube macha with oat milk. 10/10 recommend. This is a top favorite matcha of mine now. I also ordered the Dubai chocolate croissant which was warm and so good. Not too sweet but sweet enough. I'll be back for sure to enjoy the inside and work from here one day. This spot is a little cramped and chaotic. There is very little room to stand and wait on your order, and it took a hot second to get my order with there being three people making drinks. I'd never been before, so when I got up to order I was going to ask the cashier's favorite matcha. However, he immediately barked out "what do you want." Not the best first impression. My partner got their signature latte which was delicious. It had the perfect amount of sweetener and oatmilk. I ordered the ube matcha that was delicious for an ube drink, but it was disappointing as a matcha. The matcha flavor was masked by being half Ube cold foam. read more

I loved this place! What a vibe. Bright light, cozy space, great music - I took a book and enjoyed some solo time here on a Saturday afternoon! Deir Cafe is a newer shop that's warm and welcoming, with delicious food drinks. I ordered the khokh habibi and a pistachio croissant, which had pistachio cream. It was delicious. The croissant itself was not the world's best, but the pistachio cream makes it worth it. It's a tad expensive, taking it from a 5 to a 4 rating. The drink was refreshing and I cannot wait to return and try other drinks. The staff member was kind and helpful. The walls have paper where you can write messages. Parking was a bit challenging. I recently visited the south nashville location and it took me 30mins to get my latte. Which i was not too upset with that. However, what did upset me is the fact I waited an hour to get my food, had to go to class, the man that took my order told me to come back and they'll have my food ready. Came back and the cook was on lunch, absolutely fine with that. Same man from earlier said he'll be back in 10mins. Waited the ten then waited an extra 20mins with no updates on if the cook had came back nor my food. Left because I had to go to work...will be returning tomorrow to get my money back. read more

This cafe serves Palestinian style treats & coffee and is delightful. Parking is a bit scarce but is street parking. The staff were lovely. When I went they must've been out of the cute cups that I had seen in other reviews unfortunately but it didn't change the fact that the drinks were delicious. I also got a croissant with labneh which was super good. When I came it was luckily on the slower side since this spot is quite small. Can't wait to return! read more

Flavors are rich, and on the sweeter side. Portions are a bit small for the price. I usually love coming to Deir, they have one of my favorite coffees in Nashville (the Golden Lotus)! But on our last few trips we ended up having to wait 30+ minutes for a coffee that tasted different and pretty bitter. Nashville has an extensive number of amazing coffee shops. So, when a new one opens, I feel like it needs to have something special to be able to stick around. And this one is special! It's located in Wedgewood Houston, which is great, as one of my favorite parts of town. While parking is limited, it's manageable with a bit of a walk. What sticks out is the sense of community. This is a Mediterranean cafe that is deeply rooted in the owners' Palestinian heritage. I love that this feels like a safe space for everyone, but especially for those in the Islamic community, with rolls of paper for visitors to leave a note & with a prayer room for those who need privacy. And of course, the menu! It is so unique compared to many of the other local cafes. You can get flavors like cardamom, baklawa, pistachio, lotus Biscoff, guavanna, passion fruit, & date. The list feels endless because whenever I visit, I am so overwhelmed by the number of drinks on the menu that pique my interest. I will be back & highly recommend it to others! My favorites so far have been the pistachio latte & the zaatar labneh croissant. read more

This was such a disappointment, not at all what we expected from looking at their website. We ordered the Mortadella Labneh Croissant, Oja Croissant, a cappuccino and a latte. The coffee was served in paper sippy cups, the food in paper bags. The Oja Croissant was a croissant with Nutella and it looked like it had been stepped on. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

I believe it's made by the women in ovens in the ground, and it's round and is about the size of an extra large pizza. A great place overall hands down. I went to the one in Antioch. You can certainly tell the owners are passionate about what they do and truly want to make sure you have a pleasant experience. There is ample amount of seating from couches, to chairs or barstools where you can work remotely or just enjoy the vibes. I personally loved the decoration, the dimmed lights and there's even a tv and small gaming area. There was a variety of food to choose from, even as a vegetarian! I had the pistachio croissant (deeeelicious!) and the Falafel & hummus sandwich and that literally keeps me full the rest of the day! To drink I had the Golden Lotus Latte it was perfect. As someone who values and actively supports small businesses, I was incredibly disappointed by the experience. Despite waiting for over an hour, my order was never made.
