I have been taking my 1973 Pontiac GTO and my 1958 Chevy Impala to Bruce at Franklin Automotive for…read moreabout 8 years now. I always have great dialogue with Bruce about maintenance, repairs, and enhancements I am planning and executing on my two classics. Right now, we are planning for a crate motor and 700R4 transmission for my Impala this coming winter. Bruce, along with Norm, do most of the classic car work at Franklin. Bruce is always realistic and fair with me about costs, timelines, and has vast experience with a broad array of classic cars from "The Big Three". Every time I go there, I see anywhere from 3-4 other classic cars on lifts or being worked on. And Bruce is not just stuck in the past with "old-think" about these classics. He's up on new-tech as well. He put a new Dakota Digital dash in my Impala and now we're discussing the benefits of EFI vs. carburetors, even though he might be the best carb guy around. Another thing I like about Bruce is that he owns two classic cars himself so he is a fellow enthusiast who shares with me the passion of the hobby I love so much. Finally, and this may not matter to some, but Bruce is deeply involved with the Lions Club and I respect the fact he volunteers in that capacity (I am not in that nor any such endeavor myself). There are a lot of wanna-bees out there who hack on old cars. Or high-end shops that charge an arm-and-a-leg. That's not here. Now go and get that dream car on Ebay Motors with confidence that: 1. It will have issues (that's just the hobby). 2. Bruce can handle them.

This place will rip you off! Two weeks ago I got my tires switched out with old tires. $120. Today…read moreI got new tires switched and they charged me $180! I asked about price difference, they said, " we never charged you only $120". I told him I had the receipt yet and he didn't want to hear it. Not to mention they have a young punk take your vehicle for a joy ride. Came back 15 minutes later. Just a warning consumers. I told the guy I was worried something was going to be stolen. My conscience is clear now.

Keep in mind that they take up front payment to offset any liability given the transplant doesn't take. There were some hiccups that could've prevented the feat but the transmission provider, Randy and the rest of the A&A team pulled it off. Appreciate the help and would recommend to people willing to take unconventional routes to repair their older model vehicles.

I didn't listen to the negative reviews. I just had it dead set in my head that the bad reviews of…read morethe service wouldn't happen to me. Took my car in, they had it for 4 hours. They called me and told me it was done. They must be miracle workers if they can pull, rebuild and re-install a transmission in 4 hours. I got the car back, and it was worse than when I dropped it off. Now instead of banging into 2nd, it was a long soft shift (probably burning the torque converter up). They said it would "wear in" and the problem would clear up. I owned the car for 15 years, and it never was "fine" after that. I also noticed at that time, that they put a hole in the coolant line, to which they charged me another $195 to fix even though I'm certain it was their fault. About a week later, I noticed that all they did was put on about 50 cents worth of rubber hose and 2 clamps and charged me $195 for that! I literally scrapped the car because they ruined it. Why I didn't just pay more and take it to ETE I'll never know. Never, ever again. RUN!

I've taken my car to this location four times in total. The first two times were great but the last…read moretwo times were very unpleasant to the point that I'll be going back to Valvoline. The main issue was the male employee who was working there the last time I went in. He was clearly having a bad day and took it out on the two customers who were in the bays, one of which was me. His demeanor and tone were really combative. I decided within 30 seconds of hearing him scream at the other customer that I was going to limit any interaction with him. The first conversation that occurred was the male employee essentially yelling at me because he insisted I HAD to bring my car in every 3000 miles and I was harming my car and it would be my fault when it broke down. I tried explaining that the recommended oil change mileage for the Equinox is 7500 miles when using synthetic oil. I brought the car in at 6000. He tried to mansplain to me about my own car. Don't automatically treat females like we don't know anything about cars. It's just annoying. The second incident occurred when I wouldn't take him up on trying to upsell me on the air filter. He started going on about how an air filter works and why I needed to buy a replacement. I remained silent and just let him keep going. He got mad and snapped at me "Do you even care?" I just replied to put the air filter back and I would change it myself at home. It also took 30-45 minutes for the oil change. There were two employees and only our two cars the whole time. It probably would have been quicker but the two employees spent a lot of time gossiping and joshing around. I'm not saying don't have fun at your job but it did have me wondering how much attention was being paid to my car.

I have taken my car to this business for 10 years. I LOVE this business because if you don't need…read moreservice, they don't try to upsell you with services you don't need. I don't drive much anymore, I went up to get my oil changed and was told that I didn't need anything at this time but to come back in a few months. They could have just changed my oil and I would have been none the wiser but they thought of what was RIGHT and told me to come back in a few months. An honest business that gives me what I need and dosen't try to upsell me is a place I will always choose first. Thanks guys! Great place!!!
