The studio offers custom work in Stained Glass, Cast Glass, Fused Glass, Etched /Carved Glass, Dalle de Verre (slab or faceted glass set in epoxy), Slumping (glass bending ), and Mosaic, as well as Museum Quality Restoration of existing stained glass and mosaics. Jack works with Architects, Designers, Home Builders, Houses of Worship, and Private Commercial and Residential clients across the country to create art glass pieces of distinction.

History

Established in 1993.

Originally born in Los Angeles, California, Jack Grew up in the Pacific Northwest town of Spokane, Washington. At the age of 12 he began a traditional style apprenticeship under Master Glass Craftsman Patrick Clark. At the age of 17 this path led him to New York City where he continued his apprenticeship under other master craftsmen. He went on to become the head craftsman at four renowned New York City studios. In 1993, wanting more personal creative freedom, Jack founded Degenhardt Glass Studio, offering all forms of original art glass to the public. Using centuries old techniques as well as innovative methods to bring a unique balance to an ancient art, he creates heirloom quality pieces for his clients across the United States. In 2002 he relocated his studio to the Hill Country northwest of Austin, Texas.
