We stopped in Colby on our way from California to Oklahoma. We were a little uncertain what to…read moreexpect in this small town. We were pleasantly surprised! The cheesy bread was delicious and my husband loved the fried pork tenderloin sandwich. We enjoyed a cold beer and watching a game. This place seems to be loved by locals and I can see why! Great family atmosphere, perfect for watching a game and hanging out! Cool name too! Coming from a farming town in California, I had to pick up some glasses as souvenirs to share with family and friends!

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more This restaurant is downtown Colby and has street parking that is all free. Inside has very few tables. In the center they have a long table with iced tea, water, plates, silverware, and condiments. You kind of help and serve yourself. There is no wait staff. When you want to order you go to the bar to get your drinks and place your food order. The menu consists of Salad, a few appetizers and pizza and burgers. This place is quite busy for a Thursday night at 7 PM. I ordered boneless wings and cheese bread. My husband ordered a Hawaiian pizza. He had a Coke which comes with free refills and I ordered a dark Porter draft called Frankie. Very light in taste. Undertones of vanilla and sweetness. It was not very cold. So I had to add ice. I did try the pomegranate wheat beer and that was bitter cold. Just the way it should be. The food came quickly. I had eight large boneless chicken wings. I went with barbecue flavor and it was accompanied with large cup of blue cheese. The breading on the chicken was very good. The chicken, however, was extremely tough. Very hard to chew. The small pizza is extremely small. I've seen kids pizzas larger than this. My cheesy bread was not bread at all. It was a small cheese pizza with the sauce served in a cup in the middle of the pizza. The flavor was horrible. It was tough and chewy. The crust was so hard. It really was difficult to eat. There are two dogs, both are labradors. The yellow one is Barley and she is so extremely friendly. The black one is kind, but not ad outgoing. Her name is Maize. I was so excited about coming here. Such great reviews. I hate to be the sour one, but the food here that I tried was not good at all. The beer had good flavor and would have been perfect, if it had been served cold. My suggestion would be for staff to turn the water and tea station to the other side so that when the line at the bar gets long to order, you don't have to apologize for trying to get your drink. Such a simple fix would make a big difference. I also think if they put the T station and condiment station in a different location, they could probably get at least five more tables in the restaurant. As busy as it became, that might be beneficial. I give this three stars.

We had gone here for dinner. It was right next-door to the Avid we stayed at. Our waitress was…read moretraining a new girl so we got twice the service. Friendly and helpful. Large dining with a bar with everything. Also outdoor dining but didn't see any umbrellas so we sat inside. I got the Apple, walnut salad with chicken also blue cheese and walnuts with a creamy herb dressing and it had a little spicy kick to it..Hubby got spaghetti pie -thin spaghetti Alfredo sauce, Italian cheeses, baked in a small loaf pan and topped with cheese and marinara sauce. It was bubbling hot when it came out. I got to eat the last couple of bites I think I will try to make this it was really good.

The hostess was super customer service oriented and the server was also very much so as well. We saw that they had lunch specials for $9.99 and also Oktoberfest specials on beer: $4 pints & $5 tall steins. We ordered: Cheesy Sticks Starters, 2 Old Chicago Chopped Salads, 1 Oktoberfest Beer, and 1 Heineken 0% Alcohol Beer. Everything came out within a good amount if time: about 7 mins for the starter, and 10 mins after that for the salads. The cheesy bread was pretty good, hot and flavorful. It came with a marinara dipping sauce. The salads were tiny and served in small bowls. They definitely were not worth $10 each, but maybe $3 each, as they were side salad size, not lunch salad size. We had excellent customer service here so I kept it at 3 stars. The food quality and portion sizes was a bit off.
