We specialize in Delaware Concealed Carry (CCW Permit) certification, New Jersey Concealed Carry Permit certification, Maryland Wear and Carry certification, (FL, VA and UT as well), Maryland Wear and Carry Renewal Classes and New Jersey Concealed Carry Permit Classes. We equip responsible citizens with real-world skills, safety fundamentals, and legal knowledge required for multi-state carrying privileges.
As a USCCA Certified training center, we offer a diverse range of courses designed for all experience levels, from absolute beginners to advanced shooters. Our core offerings include Delaware Permit to Purchase, Introduction Firearm Classes to Advanced Firearm Classes, Self-Defense, Stopping the Bleed Classes and Emergency First Aid classes. One on one and private classes are also available.

History
Established in 2024.
In 2020, I co-owned a previous firearms training company, but 2024 changed things quite a bit. That same year, I signed away my ownership interest and founded Defensive Training Solutions in Townsend, DE.
Prior to 2013, I was against firearms, but a stalking situation dramatically changed all of that for me. I then educated myself on the use of force both lethal and non-lethal. I never saw Defensive Training Solutions in my career path, but I soon left the world of finance. There was a need to establish a non-intimidating, a non-tactical and comfortable learning environment for everyone when it comes to personal safety. I never want anyone to have to use lethal force, however safe and responsible ownership is top priority as well as knowing the laws behind such force is crucial.

Meet the Business Owner: Nicole H.
By day, I teach people how to survive worst-case scenarios. By night, I put my own body through worst-case scenarios as a professional eater with a garbage metabolism. I also survive on long walks in the woods (enjoy hiking) and an active “fight club” participant (take martial art classes when the body allow it) that I technically can’t talk about. My sense of humor is as dark as my coffee as life it too short to take it too seriously.
I never planned on becoming a Firearms and Self-Defense Instructor, but a stalking incident years ago forced a career pivot. I ditched finance in 2020 for personal safety education, and honestly, I’m glad I never fit into the traditional mold. You won't find any "tacti-cool" ego or screaming drill-sergeant energy here—mostly because that sounds like way too much cardio. Instead, Defensive Training Solutions in Townsend, DE offers a completely non-intimidating environment for everyone.
