My child attended this gym for over 3 years on team. I am so happy that we decided to leave. They don't have many coaches because they decided to leave as well. The owners Nichole and Slava are crooks and liars. They only want your money. They have their selected few people that they deal with and if your not in that click then your kid gets very little attention. It even got to the point that they were setting certain kids up for failure. Some of these kids have a lot of talent but if they don't like you you will get nowhere. They actually stop teaching the kid new skills and the skills they already had is taken away from them by not letting them practice those skills. It's really sad that these owners treat people the way they do. So many coaches, gymnasts, and even recreation class instructors have left. So it's obviously something going on there. There was a gymnast that was being held back and she was really talented. They finally decided to leave and go to another gym. This kid went from a level 3 to a level 8!!!! No thanks to first state. And everyone thinks the gym is all that now because of Morgan Hurd (which Is a sweet girl by the way), But they really have no idea. I think it's so sad how some of these children are treated and ignored. To make it all worse, Nicole implemented a new policy stating that you could no longer talk to the coaches on their "personal devices" and tried to say that this policy was coming from usag as part of the new safe sport policy. That is not true at all. You can go to the usag website and you'll see that policy pertains to coach and child interaction, not parent and coach. I am paying out all this money and I can't even talk to a coach with questions or concerns that I may have???? That's totally insane!!!!! Instead they tell you to email the gym to their general mailbox and they'll pass the info on to whomever. Well that would be somewhat ok if they actually did that. There were so many parents that were totally upset with the fact that they weren't getting any responses. And if you tell them that you want to terminate the contract they won't let you come back to the gym to get your stuff. For some parents, they won't even issue any refunds for monies that's in your account. I could go on and on about the things that went on there. So in a nutshell, if you are in their little circle then your fine. But boy if you are not........You should definitely think twice before sending your kid there read more

I have been sending my daughter to recreational gymnastics classes since the age of two. When she turned 5 in 2011 we started our recreational classes at First State Gymnastics. After less than a month they noticed my daughter's talent and love for the sport. They asked for her to join their competitive team. She did and it was the best decision ever. She loves it. It has made her an active listener, given her physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, coordination, grace, balance and control. The other sports she participates in have benefited from this training. She has been able to use her teachings from the incredible coaching staff at First State Gymnastics in dance, Lacrosse, swimming and yoga. The coaches exert patience, and positive energy in an environment that allows my daughter to flourish. When she injured herself at home both of the owners showed empathy and worked with her through her healing process. I have nothing but positivity from this gym's staff. I would recommend anyone to join who wants their child to form great team spirit, bonds, and a goal oriented drive. Love this place! I learned about this gym through their birthday parties. My daughter has now had two of her own birthday parties there. The parties are reasonably priced and the coaches do a fantastic job of managing 10+ young elementary aged children and even learn their names to engage with them personally! We also are a big fan of their Parents Night Out program - very reasonably priced 2.5 hours where my kid is very active (gets good and worn out!) AND gets pizza! She also spent some time there attending classes before being invited to join the pre-team. While we learned that gymnastics was not her thing in the end (she prefers play time to practice), the coaches she worked with were wonderful and happy to answer any questions I ever had. read more

My family has been at FSG for a few years now and my kids and I love it there! The staff is very friendly and dedicated, driven to see the children succeed. The facility is clean and organized. When I call or email someone is there to answer my questions. I am always very happy when we walk through the door, having the opportunity to watch my kids grow and learn new skills. They have made a great group of friends at FSG and with the instructors help have built a noticeable confidence in themselves! Love love love love this gym. My daughter is almost two and we came there a couple times for open gym. The staff was super friendly. The manager greeted me with a smile when I walked in and guided me through the process since it was our first time there, I think her name was Sam. Her little girls are the cutest and were really nice to my daughter who can be a little rough at times! (But what two year old isn't) great place for your kids to blow off some energy and tire themselves out! Plus it's a great change of scenery for stay at home moms just trying to get out and do something. I always recommend and refer first state gymnastics!!! read more

So it was recently brought to my attention that First State Gymnastics was given a poor review by a previous team mom I would just like to say that our experience at First State Gymnastics has been great , my daughter has been there for 10 years, I have been involved in many different aspects , serving for many years on the teams Athletic association I don't want one bad apple parent to ruin something for others, she has a right to state her opinion , but I believe more over that customers are happy with First state gymnastics and I encourage other families to reach out and support our gym read more

My child just turned 5 and wanted to try gymnastics so I took her here and we LOVE it. She absolutely loves her class instructor and the gym is amazing! It is also amazing watching the team practice, such talented kids train there! The class instructors and team coaches are very attentive and friendly whenever I see them. 10/10 would recommend signing your child up here if you are looking to get your child started in the sport of gymnastics. read more

Our daughter has been coming to First State Gymnastics for several sessions now and she absolutely loves it! She's learned to have fun while learning proper form for each of the techniques they teach her. Because of First State my daughter is constantly showing off her skills WHEREVER we go!! Ms. Iris is really lovely and very patient with her being the youngest in the class and needing to make some modifications. Class is super fun for her and us!
