The owners now have new fish tanks (awful) an less variety . But since the tank change the variety is less appealing and some of the fish look sickly. Their aquatic plants are marked about $2 higher than you can get at petco. However they do have a variety of lizards. But it just seems their fish caring educated staff that previously worked their are all gone and it shows. Sorry Ds Pets I'm very cautious of what I would buy from you. Be sure you have an isolation tank to treat the fish first! (NOTE.. I have 7 fish tanks ranging from 90 gallon 70 gallon a 55 gallon and 3 of the 32 gallon on racks etc.. I recently lost my beloved cat. I just went into the store and looked around for a minute and then asked if they have any cats available for adoption. A girl working, answered in the rudest way possible "Pet stores can't sell cats in Illinois" and stormed past me. She didn't mention anything about humane shelters or elaborate on why the answer was no. She couldn't even stop walking for a second to assist me. She seemed very irritated that a customer had a question for her. This business does not care about animals (or people), they only want to make a quick buck and send you on your way. What a shame. This place here is a vary respectful place. My wife brought a cockatiel from there. They talked her through any and everything she needed to know. We even had to call in because we had questions. First off, the actuall employees were so incredibly helpful and the girl helping us gently took the fish out of the tank and placed them in the bag. Then it came time to check out. The owner came out to "help" by taking the three bags of fish and cramming them roughly into a plastic bag. in the process, he pinched one of the corydoras, killing it. We were offered a refund and we were informed to take the dead fish. Corydoras are schooling fish and I feel like a pet store owner should know this. We couldn't wait to keep coming back here, but after the harmful nature of the owner, I cannot, in good conscience, support this business. I'm going to keep ordering from Aqua Huna where the owners actually care about their fish. This happened just now. We haven't made it home to even see if he damaged any in the other bag I didn't have in my hands and would not let him touch. And he walked away when he realized that he caused the problem and offered absolutely no apology. read more

Always very clean and knowledgeable staff. They can order in items if you need them to. They have a large variety of fish, birds, reptiles, and other pets. I would much rather shop at a local business than a chain. They always help me pick the right fish for my classroom tank. They even sell their fish water that is already treated and ready to go. This is perfect for me since I am not very good at all of the chemical and water treatments needed to get the tank ready for fish. Went in here to buy hermit crabs. Animals left in bags on the counter for what was 2 days when I asked how long it had been there. Worker jammed no her fingers into the hermit crabs shell to see if they were alive possibly killing them as they are sensitive animals to stress. Then they threw it in a cardboard box with nothing. I dont recomend this place as it seems they are negligent to their animals. Lots of dirty cages and the workers were overwhelmed with the number of customers there. So not only are the animals not treated well but doesnt seem that the workers are either. Someone needs to look Into the well being of the animals at this location. read more

Got 6 black neon tetras and within 3 days off getting them have had nothing but trouble with all my fish. Now all the black neon's have ick severely and have had 2 pictus cats die now. Have been treating ick for four days knw and seems to be getting worse by the day. Doubt I buy any thing from there again, seems like the sickly looking fish I got from Wal-Mart have done better then a "pet store's" fish. read more

We bought a puppy from Dee's about five years ago and he is a wonderful Malti-Poo. Best dog ever. He is so cute and smart we have had zero problems. His mom and dad lived in a small breeders home in Florida and not a puppy mill whatsoever. Haters gonna hate and say terrible things but we love our perfect and wonderful dog. Investigated before we bought him and they use reputable breeders. read more

This pet store is horrendous. All the puppies are of the same breeds or mixtures of the same breeds making me think they run their own puppy mill and they were all housed in very small kennels that they probably only get out of when people who are looking to buy them want to see them. All of the small animals are in cages that are over half as small as they should be (for one animal that is and they have at LEAST 6 or seven in one). They had 2 adult guinea pigs in a cage 10 times too small for even one guinea pig. The rats were piled on top of each other and in awkward positions just to fit in the cage (if they weren't piled on each other they would have covered the floor of the cage and then still be piled on top of each other. None of the animals were happy or healthy looking, every animal was just lying around, some breathing heavily (because of the small living quarters mostly). There were flies flying around the store and in the cages, which were not clean. Don't ever step foot in this place, take your business elsewhere to someone who deserves it and cares for their animals properly. I wouldn't even give this pet store one star but I was required to in order to write the review. read more
