That's my first negative review for any business. But this school is something else.My son will go…read moreto the first grade next year and now he is in kindergarten and he went to assessment to this school to go there next year to first grade and the principal talked to me super rudely saying he is not ready for the first grade because he can't read fluently books and can't multiply till 10 all the numbers.Really? He is not suppose to do all that in kindergarten. They told he can just be accepted in kindergarten again because of that. And they even refused me to see their kindergarten classroom saying you had a tour before.Such a bad experience.I never saw so rude people in school before.

(THEY KEEP DELETING MY REVIEW) DO NOT SEND YOU KID HERE!!…read morethis school gave my child trauma due to the bullying by staff and children. My child would be bullied by specifically the principal and vice principal, there was favoritism and racism. They treated brown and black children like they were a problem. They didn't even an official school nurse the vice principal was a nurse, and they have no medical training whatsoever. The school lunch prices are very unfair and if your child did not bring any type of lunch, they would let them sit there and starve for the day. The academics are very behind and did not prepare my child for high school or any type of other school. They gave unfair detentions, and THEY DONT EVEN LET PARENTS SEE CAMERA FOOTAGE, that's suspicious... I do not recommend this school the bullying, the racism, the untrained staff, the unorganized staff and much more. Please consider other schools. They would be better than this one.

Even though my son did improve on his reading scores this was not the school for him…read more The amount of work they made him do was not realistic. I also don't want him sitting in school all day and then coming home and doing homework all night. The academics were good in some classes but the Geometry teacher Mr. Brooks wasn't a good teacher and the Art teacher Ms Zolna was very rude to her students. The guidance counselor was not personable and focused more on academics then the overall well being of the student. I decided to homeschool my son this year.

Very rude, disrespectful office stuff. Every time I come to pick up my teenager a hispanic lady is…read moretalking to me with an attitude. At the same time another parent who was also Hispanic came to pick up her child today and she was talking very nice to her. Every time she's trying to correct the paper that I filled out for an early dismissal . The other Office staff is an elderly white lady, every time she greets me with "What's up ?" you wonder why kids don't have respect to adults these days , when their parents are being greeted in school with "What's up "instead of " "how are you doing ?" The first time she greeted me like that I took it actually as a compliment ( in my middle age ) thinking she thought of me as a high school student ,but next time she said it again and so did she greeted other parents. They say it takes the whole village to raise a child. What do you expect from teenagers to learn in the environment like that. I wonder how people without simple manors get these kind of jobs, if they talk to me like that I can't imagine how they talk to our children. But , there is a young guy who is helping them out in the office. He is always polite!

Grateful for Principal Dodge and all the staff and volunteers at Saint Ambrose Catholic School. Due…read moreto unforeseen circumstances my grandchildren had to move in with 6th and 8th graders. They were welcomed with open arms by the staff and children. This year one moves on to highschool and is a magnet student also in the Cambridge Program and my grandson moves on to 7th grade at St. Ambrose which he loves. Thank you again!

I would encourage anyone considering St Ambrose for their child's education to visit…read morewww.stambrosecatholicschool.com. The section on Cyber Bullying should be particularly disturbing. We have been going to St Ambrose for 15 years. As defined by the St Ambrose handbook, my child was harassed and bullied by a student and his parent who volunteers at the school for over a year. In addition, the same volunteer parent spread vicious, disgusting lies about our family throughout the school and during school functions which principal dodge admitted to hearing herself, but did nothing about and claimed it was "not in the schools purview". After documenting each incident with principal dodge, she lied about her ability to act on them, mischaracterized them and did nothing to solve the problem. Once principal dodge was caught lying and her integrity was under attack, she withdrew our daughter from the school during the Christmas vacation. My daughter had no disciplinary issues, was no threat to the school and posed no danger, yet was thrown out of St Ambrose hastily, separated from friends she has had most of her life, teachers she adored and resulted in a major disruption in her education. I feel that what principal dodge did was disgraceful and cowardly. Five months after we moved on, the volunteer parent who harassed our daughter appears to be stalking our daughter on social media. In my opinion, this school and principal dodge are more concerned with their personal reputation and will sacrifice the education, safety, and wellbeing of the students to protect themselves.
