The whole lakeside team, leasing office and the maintenance team are A plus that's why I keep renewing my lease since 2016! I've always lived in apartments since I was 17 years old and this is the best yet!!

Maintenance issues: since moving in our washer had flooded the entire bathroom 4 of 5 times and stopped working mid cycle so many times they had to give us a new one after about a year and a half of being there. The new dryer they gave us began smoking and almost caught fire on one occasion. Our roof in the bathroom leaked during a rainstorm which they told me was due to the vents on the outside not being properly maintained. We had a huge hole in our ceiling due to our upstairs neighbors which they couldn't fix for days due to the upstairs neighbors having an extra lock and refusing to open the door. We had so much water damage that caused mold all over the apartment because they just patched it up without actually fixing the moisture. UNSAFE- there was all types of sketchy people hanging around, people got their cars broken into, packages stolen, drug deals happening out in the open. I had to call the police several times on my neighbors for getting into domestic fights at all hours of the morning with a female screaming for help. After i brought this along with the other excessive noise concerns management did absolutely nothing. The "courtesy" officer is a joke and does not enforce noise at all. There was multiple times when many police were called to the complex one time an officer told me there was someone with a rifle threatening someone in their apartment For the price they're asking the apartments are ridiculously old and run down. There are MUCH better apartments for less money within ten minutes of here . Don't waste your money here

All are very nice, professional people. Apartment itself is OK, and you'd have to go look at them. The model was very much like what I ended up with. Not stellar, old but remodeled, not great, not bad. But if the location and actual apartment are satisfactory, the public amenities, upkeep, and staff are outstanding and even worth a few extra bucks each month. No bugs, fairly quiet. I live on 3rd floor and hear almost nothing (there are no neighbors on the sides or above). The other residents seem fine, and there are lots of kids like ours. My car was "keyed" the other night, but that's my only complaint. There are tons of parking. The swimming pool, when it was open last summer, was large and excellent, with free gas grills and tools right there for any parties you want to have. I never saw more than 15 people at the pool at any time, but it was well maintained and life-guarded. The staff does nice little things, like free cookies or Halloween candy bags, and I even received a free bagged breakfast the other day for simply being around the office in the morning (using their free WiFi and free coffee). The little gym is just perfect for my routine workouts with just enough, but not too many, of the right machines (also open 24 hours with security access), and the TVs in there work. Within walking distance are two major food stores, a pharmacy, ice cream parlor, 5-6 fast food and pizza joints (all the majors), 7-Eleven, cleaners, barber, hair salon, two gas stations, dentist, and so on. Very convenient location in a quiet residential neighborhood but abutting an intermediate route, Dumfries Road. Old Town Manassas and it's three-season farmers' market is within 5 minute drive. I really recommmend at least looking at the units if the general area is appropriate. You can make a really bad choice around there, but this is a very good choice, at least based on my 4 months' experience.

Do not believe the amount being set, because they will charge you extra for every little thing. After you sign that lease, you're just somebody they try to get money out of. I cant wait for my lease term to end, so i can leave this complex.

We've lived at Signal Hill for the past 9 months and couldn't be happier with the vast majority of…read moreour experience. Regarding the community: -As far as apartment communities are concerned, this one is very picturesque. The grass is cut and bushes trimmed at least twice per month (it very well might be more often; point is that they stay on top of it) and there is enough green around to make you forget that you're right off of a heavily-trafficked, main road. They have a beautiful fountain that also offers some very nice, calming background noise when walking around the community. -The pool, pool deck, outside grill and fire pit make the ideal setting to have some fun by cooling off and hosting friends/family for an all-day affair. -Everything around the property is kept very clean for the most part. They have staff walking around every morning, cleaning up where they can. The ONLY negative is that it seems they sometimes don't have enough trash collection space to meet demand. This isn't all the time, but a couple of times a month you'll find that people have simply chucked their garbage wherever in the collection area because the compactor is full. To be fair, this issue isn't solely on the community; there are other trash collection areas that people could walk over to if they could merely summon the meager amount of energy required to not be so lazy. -The gym and bike classroom area are very well-equipped compared to other apartment facilities that I've used. -THIS IS A DOG-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY. If you don't like dogs or harbor the unreasonable expectation that it's unacceptable for them to jump around and play within the apartment in which they live, this community isn't for you. You could always rent a 4th floor unit and make it a non-issue entirely. Anyway, there is a good amount of space to walk your dog in, and they have no less than 5-6 dog waste disposal stations (in addition to an ample amount of trash cans) located at various points around the property. If you come visit and find that the community isn't clean, it's not for lack of trying on management's part. -The amount of available parking is wonderful, offering far more spaces than any other community I've lived in prior to Signal Hill. Tow trucks patrol the area aggressively and WILL GET YOU if you don't have a parking sticker and attempt to stay overnight without a temporary parking pass. -Access to the buildings require a key fob 24/7/365. This was a big selling point for me, as I appreciate the extra level of security controlling who can and cannot access the more intimate spaces leading to everyone's units. Regarding the staff: -Simply put: They are wonderful. -Linda Peters: I have bothered her extensively over various requests and she has always done the very best that she can to assist me in achieving a positive outcome. No matter how hard of a day she's been having, I have never caught her without a smile on her face. As someone who's often time the first person that potential tenants see, that's huge. She has displayed extraordinary understanding and compassion to me on more than one occasion and is willing to work with you, regardless of your circumstances, to find as best an outcome as possible. -Maintenance: They're outstanding, supremely knowledgeable, responsive problem-solvers. Put in a service request one day and they'll be there the next, working around your schedule and making sure that they provide awesome customer-service while also respecting your personal space. In conclusion: We love it here and just signed on for another year. If you're looking for a fairly-priced apartment in the area and don't check out this community, it's truly your loss.

The one challenge that I anticipated being the most difficult was finding, securing and moving into a new apartment. I was taking train across the street from what looked like a very exciting new property. As a property management professional for 20+ yrs, I know that properties are only as good as their staffs. Immediately upon my arrival I was greeted by a true professionals, friendly demeanor, knowledge of not just the property but also the surrounding area was outstanding. They asked me very specific questions as to what I wanted most in an apartment, showed me several apartments which met my criteria. Unlike most leasing agents, they did not pressure me to make a decision before I was ready. Several days later, after visiting several other communities, I chose the Artena, I reached out and the entire leasing procedure go smoothly. In fact I changed my move-in date at the last minute and was accommodated without hesitation . Since my move-in, the ENTIRE staff has been nothing short of excellent. Any challenges Ive had the staff has been supportive, professional and pragmatic. Artena is not just a place for me to live but quite literally my home. I can not be happier with my decision.
