COMING UP ON SIX YEARS!!! 5 years it took the city to get FEMA funding approved?! Seriously?! Why…read morenot rebuild it and get reimbursed!? Sad state of affairs when there is VERY LITTLE focus on something that brings so much R&R to so many RESIDENTS and vacationers alike. My father who now has dementia purchased a property here and renovated it completely to be close to water access and fishing. Their previous home was in Waveland when Katrina hit. It is absolutely disgusting and deplorable that the city has not only dragged its feet on this and the other piers but also GIVEN UP city property for PRIVATE gain in what used to be public access under Cowain-Lorraine bridge. Im sure Captain's Wharf is a great MARINA, but there goes another depleted public resource. Now it's 100$ for annual pass?! Disgusting. Anyway, I figure I'll be planning his funeral before I can get an easy access fishing destination close to home. Thanks again Gulfport, for NOTHING.

Nearly six years since Dave O.'s review and the Ken Combs Pier remains unchanged and unrepaired…read more That's just not right because this is a beautiful part of the Gulf Coast and piers are the best way to get out into the water without actually going on a boat or getting wet. The piers in Biloxi and Ocean Springs are wonderful. Did they run out of repair money? Did they fix it and it got damaged by another storm? I don't know. What a great Italian restaurant! Six of us, three couples, went out recently for an awesome dinner…read more I had spaghetti with meat sauce, my wife had shrimp scampi. Incredible! My BIL had spaghetti with meat balls. There's 4 ways to do spaghetti. SIL had the chef's signature. Another had the supreme pizza. It was wonderful. We each brought 1/2 home, going to have leftovers. The chef/owner came out 1/2 way to check on us. Nice personal touch. The service was top notch! We are all snowbirds and headed north, but will definitely be back next winter. Don't miss this hidden jewel!

A locally-owned gem with Southern hospitality and delicious Italian food…read more Having been a fan of this restaurant a few years back, I was excited to try it again after recently moving back to the area. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to visit on a Sunday (they're closed!), I finally made it on a Tuesday evening. I was promptly greeted and seated by the friendly host right as they opened at 5 p.m. Our waitress was welcoming and took our appetizer order right after our drinks. We were debating between the mozzarella sticks and calamari, and she recommended the trio, which included both, plus fried zucchini - a great suggestion! Soon after our appetizer arrived, the owner and chef came to our table to introduce himself and check on our food. It was a nice, personal touch that you don't see very often. While the service was a little on the slower side, it was clear that the small but mighty staff was attentive and making their rounds to all the tables. For our main course, we ordered the chicken parmesan, which was a generous portion, easily shareable for two, and came with a side salad. It was yummy. This restaurant has a certain charm with its combination of Southern hospitality and Italian cuisine. I would recommend it based on my experience. They also have some weekly specials (unsure for how long) : -Wednesday Family Night: Large 3-topping pizza for $11.99 -Thursday Date Night: The $5 corkage fee for BYOB is waived, and they offer a "share a bowl" upgrade for $5.99 (usually $9.99), which gives you two servings of protein instead of one. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I'm happy to recommend.

They had several options available on the gluten sensitive menu. I had the chicken Marsala and chocolate crème brûlée which was delicious. The Quattro Formaggi was excellent with large portions. We would definitely recommend and go back.

It was surprisingly packed for a Tuesday, but the service was smooth. Everyone was kind and professional. I have to say that our server, Bobby, may have been the most accommodating, knowledgable and friendly server I've ever seen! He was also unfazed by the demanding table that was beside us and the bustle of the full restaurant. We got the stuffed mushrooms to start. They were absolutely amazing. I got a ribeye medium rare. It was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes on the side were heavenly! My husband got Spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was al dente but we both agreed the dish needed a little more seasoning/spice. This visit did change myind about Stalla. It was way better than before, and we will definitely return on our next trip (and ask for Bobby)!
