Walking back from the Carlsberg brewery to our hotel, we saw this restaurant and were intrigued by the Indian buffet. I've never had an Indian buffet but love Indian food. This was the perfect opportunity! We went back and googled Indian buffets in Copenhagen, seeing as buffets seem to be very popular here. Ultimately we decided to just trace back our steps and head to Deep. It's in a pretty convenient area, and we found it without using a map or an address.
The buffet cost only 99kr. We were a bit worried about that, as cheap buffets tend to be gross sometimes. I'm so glad we decided to stay though! It included 4 main dishes - chicken, chickpea, lentil, and beef I think. They tasted great! What flavor! We were pleasantly surprised. They also had potatoes listed as a main dish, if you wanna call them that.
There was also a variety of chutneys- chili, mango, and mint, plus something pickled. I didn't have any because I had enough sauce from the dishes :)
The naan bread was kind of chewy, but I figured it's because it's sitting waiting to be picked up. Nonetheless it was edible. It could have used a bit more salt though. The papadum was also delicious and delightfully crispy. The rice was standard- pretty good.
There was also a salad bar, which I didn't try. It's nice that they had that though, to keep the options open. Soup was also included with some tasty looking croutons but I was here for the main dishes, really.
I was able to eat 2 plates of food, though by the end of the last one I had to undo my jeans button so I would be comfortable. It's definitely a great value for the money. Delicious and very filling! read more
