For our last night in Copenhagen we decided to go to a Pakistani restaurant for dinner which is kind of our thing as we have had an extremely good experience with Pakistani restaurants in Europe. We got extremely lucky when we were in Florence and Barcelona and Prague and obviously very disappointed that we got microwaved and frozen food in Rome and Budapest. But that didn't deter us from trying this one in Copenhagen. The night didn't start well as it was raining and we had to wait for 30 minutes to catch a bus which was very unusual as public transport is extremely prompt in all of Europe. But once we got to the restaurant it was all worth the effort. The Sahil restaurant is located a few minutes from the Nyhaven area of Copenhagen. From my research I knew that this was the oldest Pakistani restaurant in Copenhagen. The decor was pretty unique as we entered the restaurant and even though they were pretty busy for a Wednesday night and we didn't have a reservation they had one empty four top that we were seated at. The server came immediately to take the order. We inquired where the cook was from and were told that he was from Punjab which was good to hear as they are usually the best cooks from that region. The server also informed us that all the meat was boneless which is my usual preference to begin with. We ordered the samosa and seekh kebab appetizer to start and got the chicken karahi with two naans for dinner. The food was delicious and extremely well cooked. The server thought we had double the appetite and they actually brought out 2 orders of the chicken karahi, one of which we had to send back as it was too much food. But the food was awesome and I have to put this Pakistani restaurant as most probably the best Pakistani food I have had in Europe. Amazingly the service was excellent too which is usually the only negative thing that you experience in a Pakistani restaurant. 5 stars all the way. Hope to get back to Sahil and Copenhagen in the future. read more

The guy & I tried this place for saturday dinner...it was full and we were not in the mood for waiting so we decided to go back the next day. We sampled the samosas (delicious and quite spicy), the green salad (topped with feta and chick peas), the garlic nan (fluffy and superb), and the kebab, which the guy said was nice. Hi there, Had some curry cravings together with my other half and decided that this place would deserve a try! Seating was immediate when we came in and it was easy to find from the center. Good placement on the water but we got a table a bit more inside so we didn't really have a chance to enjoy the view. Ordered the food which was quick due to the limited choice you have. Starter from onion bahji wasn't spectacular in presentation but tasted good. Main menu came fast enough and was very satisfactory from what I have eaten before. Definitely recommend the place for a quick and filling Indian restaurant. One minus point was the coffee which was instant coffee even though they had a nice nespresso machine behind the bar. The best curry in Copenhagen!! Wellthe best I have found so far. There don't seem to be that many places in Copenhagen where you can get a curry. This one is not the easiest to find, but I definitely worth hunting down. The venue looks lovely. They have not done much with interior as it already has quite a nice old look to it. The staff are especially friendly, which always improves the experience. There is a view out of the window over the canal, although it is not particular picturesque. I was a little disappointed initially with the choice of curries, but when I ate mine I realized that it is a case of quality over quantity. Who needs 50 odd choices when the ones they make are excellent. I had the simple chicken and potato curry, which was on the spicey side.just how I like it. The garlic naan was without question the best naan I have ever had anywhere. Even if you don't normally get a naanyou should order it here..the bread is just lovely. I have no doubts that I will be back here! read more

What a difference a few years makes. I ate in (chicken tikka masala and rice). Food was ok, service absolutely indifferent. When I think about how many other places I wanted to try on my one night in CPH and I elected to return to this old favorite, it makes me sad. read more

Not the most photogenic food out there but Sahil got some serious flavors in their sauces! It's finger licking good. Chicken tikki masala is my favorite with just the right amount of heat. Garlic naan is a must here! The garlic fragrance alone will kill you. Would definitely wanna go back and try a few more dishes!c read more

Not sure what other Indian places are like in Copenhagen but this place seemed to fit the bill in terms of flavour. Sat outside as it was a nice day, service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. A friend and I ordered a curry each with roti bread and one starter - this was enough food and we left feeling full. Nicely spiced food, would go there again when I'm back in Copenhagen! read more

Great place to have indian/Pakistani food. Lamb seek kebab was delicious.. I had with roti.. it was good and healthy. Karai chicken was very tasty and spicy as I had requested. Nestled in a little corner close to Nyvahn, I decided to check this place out during my last night in Denmark. The Yelp reviews were outstanding, so I decided to drop in. I always order Tikka Masala when I try a new Indian spot and I did so here. It was good, but had practically no kick to it. The nan bread was decent as well, but too doughy for my taste. It seemed as if it wasn't done in a Tandoor oven. The service was adequate as well, but not very warm by any means. Would I return? Probably not, but if you're in Copenhagen looking for good curry at reasonable prices you could do much worse. read more

Good Indian restaurant In Copenhagen. Varied menu, and very nice waitresses. 3 out of 4 dishes we ordered were good. The final dish was not spicy even though we ordered it spicy. They remade the dish, and it helped. But it was still not Indian spicy, just danish spicy. The dishes was also a bit on the small side. read more

Found this accidentially while walking around searching for a place where we could sit outside. We got a table very close to the water which was quite nice, as this must have been one of the best Summer nights of the year. The food was excellent and surprisingly cheap all considered. Chunky chicken curry with fresh herbs, prawns, rice, nan bread - all very tasty. The menu is not all that varied, but I wouldn't mind coming back to try some of the remaining dishes.
