The bartender, Britt, has such a great attitude and makes even better cocktails :) They have a rotating drink menu so there's always something fun and fresh/unique to try. The vibe is super cool, cozy seating, great ambience, dim lighting that feels like a hidden gem. I sat on the comfy couch and ordered sushi from OKA, which was honestly better than ever. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The cocktails were delicious too; strong, creative, and exactly what I wanted for a chill night out. I was having a great time, enjoying my meal and drinks, when disaster struck right at the end. I had literally just finished eating when a huge roach crawled right by my feet on the couch area. It was massive and absolutely disgusting. I jumped out of my seat so fast, thankfully I was done with my food, or I probably would've lost it completely. I didn't scream (which is a miracle because I definitely would have at home), but it was such a gross turn-off. I get that this is Lake Worth and Florida has its bugs, but come on, a roach that big in a dining establishment? That's not okay. You really need to step up the pest control. Also, the bathrooms could use some serious help. They're outdated and feel neglected, definitely in need of an update or renovation to match the rest of the cool vibe. Overall, the sushi shines, the drinks are spot-on, and the atmosphere is fun... but that roach ruined the ending for me, and the bathrooms don't help. Fix those things, and this place could be amazing. Hoping it was just a one-off bad night!

We came on a Tuesday night and had plenty of choice for seating both inside and out. We sat outside and the rooftop view is stunning and really sets the tone for the night. It's the kind of place you can settle into and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We were here from 7 to 11PM. Natalia was our server and she was awesome. Super friendly, checked on us just the right amount and made the whole dinner feel easy. I had the surf and turf which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My dining partner ordered the salmon and loved it just as much. I had a few Palomas and honestly lost count at some point which probably says everything about how good they were. Between the food the drinks the service and the view this place really gets it right and I'd definitely come back and recommend it.

Needed more of something to feel Brazil carnival Food--I ordered from main menu "Kimchi fried rice," which is one of my favorite dishes. I lived in South Korea for a year. I noted that the pork belly in my kimchi fried rice was very hard and chewy (overcooked) which should not be the case. Otherwise I could taste the kimchi which was good. Around the table, there were fried chicken wings, a big juicy burger, French fries (very tasty) and one of my cousins have the special skewered chicken from the Brazilian menu. She reported the chicken to be very bland despite its colorful appearance. All in all, everyone said, their food was "OK." The specialty drinks, Caipirinha (X 2) were good. Service was wonderful --our server Susan checked on us often. She was very attentive (we did pay for a reserved table & attention, I suppose). The manager checked on us twice to make sure we were having a good time and we were - generally speaking. It's a beautiful rooftop. For the manger & waitress, I would return and I'll give the kimchi fried rice another try as well - don't overcook and cook even more in caste iron dish. Cheers!

You simply tell Vincent what you're craving, and he conjures it with a flick of the wrist, a dash of bitters, and probably some ancient incantation whispered under his breath. I had three... maybe four drinks (time works differently in magical places), and each one was flawless. Complex yet balanced, bold yet smooth... true potions of happiness. If you're lucky enough to find yourself in this enchanted hideaway on the one night a week it's open, let Vincent work his craft. Saturday night, Anniversary night.....decided going to a speakeasy (regardless of what's 'next…read moredoor') we thought it would be super cool. . You need to make a reservation with a credit card as if you don't show they will charge. Sounds high end and the place to be. That day we tried to adjust a reservation by 30 minutes. NO ONE WOULD ANSWER NOR RETURN CALLS, no matter how many times we called or messaged on the app. We read 20 minute grace period so we choose '20 minutes' late. They text us door1 code. Ok, cool..good start. We get there....Door1is propped open. Then you were in a vestibule area. Door 2 (where you are supposed to ring in) is ALSO OPEN. So literally other than not having a name on the outside, is a bar. An expensive one. We were really disappointed as stupid as that sounds as we didn't get the speakeasy experience. Hostess says they are really busy. Umm, the place is half full. No real tables but honestly we sat on the couches looking at the bar, and turned out perfect for cocktails and app, and enjoying my beautiful company (my wife). Out waitress was cool, kept apologizing for how busy it was .....again 1/2 full. We were thinking there would be a mixologist there. Nope, just another waitress who never smiled once making drinks. And $21 drinks that seemed a bit light on the pour (as least for my ol fashioned. We did order a smoked prosciutto burrata app that was quite good! The guy placing music was really nice although for a few songs the volume got turned up and you couldn't hardly talk to your date, but that was temporary. So it was like $80 for 2 drinks and one app. With the 'absence of the speakeasy', mehhh

You may experience it once, or multiple times, depending on how comfortable you are with strictly valet parking and, in particular, the Palm Beach prices, but the food, the cocktails, and the service are on point. For as long as I have lived in the West Palm Beach area, the building that now houses Mary Lou's was a bait-and-tackle store with a respectable craft beer selection. The structure has been in existence since at least the 1960s, by my knowledge, and the owners of what has become Mary Lou's have kept the exterior aesthetic to make it appear like an old but unassuming store on Southern Boulevard, but once you're inside, you realize you're in a completely different universe. Once you valet your car and walk inside, you're greeted by ship-like, polished wooden walls and intimate lighting as you head to the greeting desk to check in. Yes, please reserve a table in advance. Once checked in, you're escorted through a set of doors into a darkened hallway before a circular, circus-like lounge area and bar appear that radiates 70s vibes, not too far from what you may watch on the show Palm Royale from Apple TV. After being escorted to our table, we enjoyed a myriad of lovely cocktails and small and large bites with excellent service. I enjoyed cocktails such as the Olive Ave and Old Soul: the former was a filthy martini made with love and understanding, the latter was a bourbon-based powerhouse with applejack, Barenjager, and mango. I also ordered off the menu and enjoyed a Paper Plane and an Old Fashioned. Both were fantastic bourbon cocktails that the bar made well. The Beef Carpaccio Salad was wicked good with the goat cheese brulee and pine nut butter, while the maple pork belly skewers were solid. The crispy octopus was excellent with the fav bean puree, while the grilled lamb chops were piquant. The Banana Creme Brulee for dessert was very good, shaped like an actual banana with a chocolate shell that evoked Andy Warhol. Everything we were served was meticulously prepared and exquisitely delicious. The service was prompt and accommodating. We rarely waited long for drinks, for additional items off the menu, the bar accommodated us well with different drink selections -- we were a party of six and didn't have delays per my observation. The drawbacks are pricing and exclusive valet parking. Most cocktails run at least $20, and the small and large bites are priced between $30 and $45, with some slightly lower and some slightly higher. You can easily spend $75 to $100 before tip. Therefore, this serves as either a special-occasion spot or a regular-occasion spot for those who can afford it -- definitely Palm Beachy in that regard. The on-site parking spots for Mary Lou's are reserved for valet; self-parking is not readily available, as I have observed. If you're concerned about valet parking, consider either coming with a large group and carpooling or using Uber. After 10 PM at least on Saturdays is when the lounge turns into a dance club with the lights darkening, the spotlights shining, reflecting off the mirror bar, with dancers and DJ spinning music. It can be a lot of fun to take part if you make a reservation at the right time to experience both sides of the establishment.

Very disappointing and unacceptable experience at Mary Lou's in West Palm Beach…read more The prices were already extremely high, and then the final bill included an added 5% operational fee on top of an automatic 20% gratuity. For a restaurant at this price point, these charges should be clearly explained before the bill arrives, not left as an unexpected surprise for customers. The restaurant was also uncomfortably cold throughout the entire evening, which took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. What was most upsetting, however, was the treatment by the bouncer. He was rude and physically shoved me without any reason. No customer should ever be handled in that manner. It was inappropriate, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. For the amount charged, I expected a much higher level of service, transparency, and respect. Instead, the evening felt overpriced, uncomfortable, and hostile. I will not be returning and would strongly encourage management to address both the hidden fees and the conduct of their staff.

I picked Batch while walking by because it had the cutest vibe but we weren't expecting much. We were greeted by Rachel, the manager, at the host stand. She didn't just lead us to our table, she walked with us. She asked us if we were from the area and what brought us in. It was all small talk but felt genuine. She waited until we were seated to hand us or menus and it didn't feel rushed. Gabby, our server, showed confidence and love for the place when she introduced herself. They make everything from scratch here and Gabby sold us on the eggrolls and mac and cheese to start. However, before those could arrive, Rachel came by with an order of biscuits for us. These were absolutely to die for and the gesture was very kind. The eggrolls, bbq sauce, and ranch were the highlight of our food adventure here. You could tell this was all freshly made. We both ordered burgers and those were very good, hearty, and not greasy. Their house sauce B1 added a perfect element of smokiness to the burger. Gabby's service ensured we always had refills, never had to ask for anything, and the table was always clean. Rachel stopped by and checked on us and also gave us cute glasses to take home with us and coupons to come back for happy hour for some "off menu snacking". So if you're asking if Batch does things differently, they absolutely do. We can't wait to bring our friends next time. Ask for Rachel and Gabby and don't sleep on the eggrolls!
