However, in retrospect it seems as if once I agreed for continued maintenance because he was doing a good job... he decided to go MIA. There was still one portion of the property that hadn't been finished, but he said he would come back and finish it the next time he was out for the continued maintenance. I was invoiced for this job and for upcoming maintenance and I paid. Come time for him to finish the job and to re-mow and trim everything again - he was a no show. I called 3x and emailed 2x over the following week to see what happened. No response or call back to reschedule or to offer an explanation. Basically just took the money and disappeared.
