They are VERY easy to schedule with - I message on Yelp, and they get back to me within the hour, and they'll follow up with you if you suck (like me) and forget to respond to them. They bring these cute little samples and hold them up to your window to show you the difference between sheer, light filtering and blackout. They have a million different shades of white. I told the guy I wanted white and he talked me out of white, white because it's super sterile; he was correct! I went with marshmallow :) My blackout curtains upstairs are the bomb and make my bedroom like a CAVE, even with a street lamp right outside my window. I asked them to move my blinds further back this week so I could fit plants in my windowsill, and they came within the week fo free. It became obvious that several Nationwide "Clearinghouse" Companies have consolidated local Vendors/ Contractors & Subs into a "Trades Lottery" This is where you submit your Phone # and E-Mail to a company located behind a website, and they sell your info to several Contractors. This triggers a Sales Frenzy, where you start getting calls and E-mails from strangers, all seeking to get a deposit check BEFORE the others can reach or close you. Their goal is to quickly close enough business to cover the cost of buying names that don't sign up, as well as the cover the "Back-End" percentages they pay if you DO sign up. We prefer to shop locally, know WHO is coming into our home before they appear at the door, and have that company spend their time and overhead delivering a great job, at a fair cost. After combing thru hours of information, and reading multiple reviews, we selected Landis Decorating as our first Custom Window Treatment Company to speak with. It was evident this was a locally owned enterprise, offering a personalized consultation, fabrication, installation, and service. Our inquiry was responded to promptly, and we set an appointment. The initial call was not a rush to get us to commit, place a deposit, or agree to have a salesperson stop by in 15 minutes. It was an in-depth conversation to assess our needs and wants, with the emphasis on making sure the samples presented at the appointment gave enough choices of exactly what we wanted. Joy arrived on-time, and we toured three rooms that needed updating. She listened to our requests and asked enough questions to fully understand where we wanted to end up. After a few minutes, we both knew that Joy, and Landis were our Vendor. My Wife picks the colors, textures, and fabrics. I could hear her enthusiasm and delight as she went thru Joy's samples- Everything was exactly what my Wife had in mind, and the only job was picking the perfect one for each room. Joy measured the windows and took note of the particular issues we'd encountered with the prior treatments, to be corrected when fabricating the new Curtains, sheers, and vertical blinds. When completed, Joy asked what date was best for US to do the install. The installer, "Rick" arrived, and got right to work. After working in the Trades for most of my life, I have a true sense about Craftspeople, and how they view quality and precision. After a minute, the stress of "I hope this all goes well" vanished, and I was totally at ease. Rick was friendly, well-experienced, and quite confident. Unlike some contractors who show up and ask what they're supposed to do, Rick had been well-briefed, and knew what was going where. He impressed me with his organization, and he didn't need to run out searching for tools or equipment. He is a "WELL-OILED MACHINE" Upon completion, Rick steamed the new sheers and fabrics to perfection. We were both amazed at how great everything looked. With the flawless final steaming, Rick cleaned up and presented his work with the pride of a World-Class Craftsman. The installation could NOT have gone any better. Our entire experience with Joy, Rick, and Landis Decorating was 100% stress-free. We never felt hurried or asked to compromise or settle. We received exactly what we asked for, and will recommend this company as a flawless, stress-free way to purchase Custom Window Treatments!

Joe provided us with paper accordion shades to cover our windows until the blinds arrived - SO much nicer than either naked windows or bed sheets! We had shutters installed on our sliding glass door, and they took a little longer, but we received the same efficient serves and follow-up from Joe when they were installed. Michael Halpern came out and measured my windows and said he would get back to me with a quote. A week later, he still did not get back to me with a quote. I had to follow up with the company several times to get a quote. This should've been my first sign. After signing the contract, Michael told me I would receive my shades in 4 to 5 weeks. After nine weeks, the shades were not ready. I had to follow up with the company multiple times to find out when my shades were coming in. They were full of excuses. Finally, they scheduled a day for install after me calling many times. When the shades arrived, four of the seven shades I ordered were measured wrong and could not be hung. I called and they said they would call me later in the day to explain how they would fix the situation. 2 days later I still did not receive a phone call. After I called them and they returned days later to install the shades that were measured wrong, there were still many issues. They did not supply me with the proper amount of remotes. They did not provide a bottom track for one of my shades. There were nails showing on the frames of the shades that were supposed to have caps on them. The day after the shade was installed the chain to open the shade broke. Finally, they came back to fix the chain and it still does not work. They brought a piece of trim that belongs a floor and tried to install that on the bottom of my window. I'm not sure that the owner, Roi Albo, would have that in his house. I asked him to come to my house to look at the windows that and he will not schedule a time. I still do not have the bottom rail to one of my shades. I also still do not have the proper remote. One shade will not open because the chain is faulty. I would not recommend this company to anyone and cannot possibly understand how they can run a business like this. The only positive experience I've had has been with the installers. They are very friendly and nice.

This was a large investment - the total was upwards of $2000. Fast forward 6 months - one of the shades in the great room will no longer open or close. When contacting the Blinds Factory I'm told that while I do have the warranty I was promised, suddenly it's not in-home anymore. Now I have to uninstall and bring these giant shades (windows are more than 10 feet tall) to them. This is outrageous since I have in writing that the warranty is in home. I argue - finally they agree to come take a look. Guy comes, agrees they are broken, no fault of mine. Tells me they need to order a part. Then nothing. They won't return my calls. Hang up on my when I call. Avoid the Blind Factory at all costs! Use anyone else. You'll thank me later!
