Bought a 32x48x1/8 drop piece of 3003 aluminum sheet to make an aluminum radiator shroud. Found out…read moreafter I bought the piece, it was too thick to bend in the brake I have access to. So I tried to return it for another piece about the same size but smaller gage. Gal who helped me originally, was friendly and tried to help me find something again and left me to look around. I decided on another piece almost exactly the same size but smaller gage that would work in the brake. Brought it up front to the counter and then when the guy behind the counter asked how he could help, i said "the gal who had helped me before who was standing there, was helping me." Then some guy with a beard said out of nowhere " We don't do returns or exchanges on drop pieces," considering they are called the short iron store one would think drops are their main source of business and it wasn't like this was scrap or salvage aluminum. ON THE RECEIPT IT STATES "all returns must be presented with a receipt within 7 business days from date of purchase all exceptions will result in store credit (valid for 365 days). So basically I just lost $22.00 dollars when the receipt says very clearly their policy and there are no exceptions listed(See attached receipt). I got upset flew off the handle and basically said, "either you give me a refund or you give me this piece in trade". The piece i was trying to trade for was half the weight and scratched up so it wasn't like I was getting a good deal, yet still the bearded guy who claimed to be the manager would not work with me in any way. I told him "you will have to throw me out or call the cops because i am not leaving without my money or this piece of aluminum." He tried to get tough and told "take my piece of aluminum and leave," I said "you better go call the owner, because I am not leaving until I get my money or the piece of aluminum I can actually use." So finally he goes in the back and makes a call or does something and comes back and said, "ok you can take the piece of aluminum you want." I had to go through all of this drama because they couldn't accommodate helping me address my simple issue. In the end they made out, they made twice as much because I got half the weight in aluminum. Needless to say this is why I deal with salvage yards for most of my metal needs, far cheaper and often times they have good quality scrap for not a 1/4 of this places prices. Be warned don't buy unless you are certain what you need or you will be stuck with it.

I was hoping to walk in, make a selection, and walk out, with a new Chimney Cap under my arm. But it was not to be. There really was not a selection available, due to the rather unique application of chimney caps. I had no idea there were so many options and installation methods. So I'm going to need to collect some more information at home, and return when I have a better plan in place. The person who helped me said they have a catalog (from High C) to choose from, and with any luck next time I will be able to make a Chimney Cap selection. so for now I'm going to just go with a okay (3 stars), because I left without a Chimney Cap. Should my next trip be more successful, expect to see an update to this review. Bottom line: Not a very successful visit.

I am a customer of Silver Creek and have been for about 18 months now. It's a great place, and I've taken several folks there to buy direct. Mostly, I'll have a contractor pick up for me, or I'll buy some bags cause it's easy (Bulk is way cheaper if you need a lot!) ... They will even tell you that! They are big on doing the RIGHT thing for their customers. They take a long-term attitude to doing good business. So, today is the first time I've scheduled them for a delivery. Let's just say there was an account/paperwork 'SNAFU', and when I did not hear from them by ~12:30 I thought I better call, as they close @ 1:00. Glad I did. They had set up another account, and it had an error in the number and e-mail. Bummer. It was close to closing time.... They could have said "sorry about that, we'll call on Monday". But here's the deal. They didn't. Irma worked to recall a driver and Josh stepped up to manage the process. When I let them know that I had scheduled a crew to come out Sunday early to spread the dirt, they jumped into action. The made things happen fast. This is a testament to how they handle service and support. I was a bit disappointed at first, cause the contractor I am using wanted/needed the extra work. It's the holidays, and $$$ is tight for everyone. But they solved that ASAP. Silver Creek Materials for the Win! Also; many thanks to Senor' Sigala of Sigla's Trucking for a PRO DELIVERY! Thank you to the quick action of Josh, Irma, the driver & loader, and the entire Silver Creek Crew. They pulled this off ASAP! If you've never looked at everything they do, and what they sell, it's a treat. Well, to me anyway. It's a cool place to go visit if you care about your yard/lawn, landscaping, or if you are a gardener. Especially if you are a gardener! They are the place to go. I can tell you that with certainty. They are the biggest/best in DFW, and they have what I believe is the absolute best soil for gardening. Bella Flora. Pro Tip: If you visit them in person, when leaving, take the time to go into Fort Worth on Jacksboro Highway (199) into Fort Worth, take a right on University and a left on White Settlement. About 2 miles down on the right is Angelo's BBQ. Order a "Lean, sliced all the way with cheddar cheese' and enjoy some world class BBQ. Thank you to the team @ Silver Creek!
