I went to the Benjamin Store on Langstaff (near Weston Rd) and the same can was $11....and at the Benjamin Moore store on Bathurst near Major Mac they were $8.99. Huge savings here. Access Ito the lot when driving east on Steeles is odd (as its a curved entrance for those people travelling west), but further down there's another entrance. The staff members I've interacted with have been stellar...from the consultant who works in the paint section to the staff at the counters...all have customer skills down pat. This is now my preferred location to purchase paint.

When u are a first time costumer they will set up an account with you so if you should ever need to buy some more paint in the same color you bought 2 years ago they can just pull it up for you and your done. And of course the main reason why we go buy our paint here is because of ther Harmony Line, it's water-based paint and low-odor with zero VOCs!!! Perfect for kids rooms or nurseries. Even during painting you barely smell any odor....I am using this paint for my entire House now. They also constantly have sales, last time I just bough myself an entire case of white and whenever I am ready to paint a room I go mix in the color.

I came here with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised how good these guys were. They said my sample size was too small and sent me back which is the right thing to do because the other store didn't do that. So I came back with larger sample and Trevor made the paint and made me feel better about the whole process that things will only get better from here. When I came back home and applied the paint for the spots on my walls, it was an exact match. What a difference it makes when people do their jobs to the best of their abilities. I get it that the older man in the shop could come across cranky but he's the one who sent me back home to get a larger sample because of which Trevor made me the perfect paint. Overall, good customer service and extremely straightforward. Glad they're in the neighborhood. They're also reasonably priced compared to the other paint store I went to. The problem with using the computer is that the machine will get jammed from dry residue from the paint and the workers rarely know how to clean the mechanism properly so you will not be getting the right amount of dye into the paint for the shade you choose and will have to return after wasting time painting only to realize the shade is off. Been there, done that, actually watched a worker get shot with red because the machine wasn't cleaned and the dry residue caused it to projectile towards her... lol, it was entertaining. They also do color matching, you can bring in just about anything, pillows, a piece of fabric, as long, and they can make other brands colors at a cheaper price with the same quality. They sell Pratt & Lambert, Sico, and some others, also they have their own brand of "Exclusive Paints". It's a family owned and run store, you can park right in front and they are conveniently located on College just west of Spadina on the north side. All in all my experiences here have been great and I've run into some entertainment industry types down there oddly enough. I guess nostalgia sticks for people... after all this place has been around for over 60 years, someone's always telling me a story when I come in there, I recommend the colour Dove that I got there, can't remember the make, it's an off-white purple... looks like white in the daytime and then turns to a very light calming purple as the night comes upon us, very refreshing!!!

As if they weren't cheap enough, you can also get paint in colours that sometimes you wouldn't think of using that are 'clearance'. If you're just painting a tool shed, or a kid's wooden toy box, is the colour really that important? It wasn't to me, and I paid about half of what I would have at Home Depot. By the way, haggling of prices is almost welcome here.

In fact, I had a custom colour made here once to match some old paint; when I needed to repaint in the same colour a few years later, they still had the formula in their computer records, and I was able to match it with no problem. West Toronto Paint is right on the corner of Dundas and Pacific Ave., so while the street parking is hard to get, they do have two private spots on the sidewalk beside the building. If they're taken, a municipal lot and a No Frills lot are by it just south of Dundas.

You can also buy sample paints for less than $10 which is great because not all the chains offer something similar.
