Not a single employee is respectful they are all so rude it's unbelievable how they even have a job in customer service. I would rate negative if I could. The manager is especially rude and extremely unprofessional. There are many other dollar king locations that don't do this unnerving behavior, it would a be a waste of your money to spend it at this location. They were also talking badly about other customers in front of me without a care in the world! I self taught knitting by watching youtube videos and by ordering simple scarf or blanket patterns…read moreonline. After numerous scarfs and blankets it was time to reach out to a store where i could purchase my supplies, but also get support as I take on more challenging projects. Vanessa was kind enough to help me pick out a hat pattern online and she suggested yarns in the store that would be easier for my first hat. After purchasing my materials, she suggested that i sit down and start my project. One of the kind ladies working on their projects not only helped me start my project, but she put in a lifeline (learned something new). I sat and chatted with the group as I worked on my project. I choose this store even though it is further away from my home because it is open W-F until 7 pm so I can go over after work for help. They are open on the weekend. And lastly, as I expected there is a community of knitters willing to help. I'm overjoyed to have found a place to learn and challenge myself after working solo for so long. Lastly, the yarns in the shop are beautiful and I found the prices in line for the quality. I'm willing to pay a bit more for quality and for support. Vanessa has created more than a store, she has created a community. I will be back very soon to work on the next stage of my hat.

I was a bit stressed thinking about my Halloween costume and where to get fabric now that Joann was…read moreclosed. I've headed to DTLA in the past for fabric, but I wasn't looking forward to that for just 1 yard of black cotton. So I grabbed a GF and headed to Canoga Fabrics in Canoga Park. While I was at first a bit surprised at the small space, I quickly realized there was A LOT to offer. HELLO Joseph! I asked for black cotton and he showed me a sampling to check out while he finished with other customers. I found THE PERFECT SHADE OF BLACK! I just needed 1 yard, so Joseph got that cut quick as a whip, I paid cash, and out I went. $8 for a yard of 60" black cotton is VERY FAIR. Sorry I forgot to snap pics, I think I was delirious with delight at being able to tick this errand off my list! I now have a new fabric option for the rare times - yeah, like once a year - I have a project to complete. While there is a Public Parking lot behind Canoga Fabric, I parked at a meter on the street and fed in enough for 2 hours so we could check out a few other places I was surprised about along this corridor of Sherman Way. The quality of the fabric is nice and the guy helping me went out of his way to recommend a different thread to more closely match the fabric I was buying (I just grabbed the closest almost-color I could find). I would definitely recommend going in with a plan as there isn't much room to wander, but very nice establishment!
