A bit if a late start on the tree front this year meant we couldn't go down to Long Beach as is our usual custom. A google search was able to give us this gem and less than 5 miles away, no less! The gentlemen are kind and patient ( I basically walked from tree to tree admiring the very subtle differences lol) offering to pull out whichever tree I needed. I did find out that they're moving to Glendale next year as neighbors complained (they're right next to a church?) so that's a bummer. But our 5-6ft Douglas Fir was a steal, at least we have another place to come if Long Beach eludes us again. read more

I am truly shocked at my experience. The owner was aggressively rude, when I politely asked him "how do I buy a tree" he grabbed the closest tree to me, marched it up to the front very aggressively rang me up did not offer to cut the tree or wrap it and he had someone put it on the roof of my car. The checkout screen has the audacity to ask for a tip. The worst part is his employee told me that he's only making $15 an hour which is below minimum wage. This man is a monster on so many levels and I'm truly never going back. Have to say please stay away from this business. read more

We visited and chose a 6 ft noble. Asked for a fresh cut and said we didn't need the stand (we have our own). First they said they could not do that; then they said that they would only do it if we paid an extra $25 for the cost of their stand which we wouldn't be using and that it was just cut a couple days ago anyway (we didn't ask to deduct the built in stand cost; they just said we had to pay an addition fee to remove the stand and not use it). They got out the tree and the stand was totally bone dry. The worker even said he was going to add some water to the stand to check if it leaked. When paying, I asked the manager for a fresh cut/ no stand and expressed that I was worried about the tree drying out. They said ok and took it back. I gave a 20% tip on my card and a $20 cash tip to the worker. The worker gave us a cut of wood to "prove" they did a fresh cut. Got it home only to realize the tree was not re-cut and the piece of wood they handed us wasn't even remotely the same size as the tree base. Within days, the tree was dry and not taking up water. Definitely would not recommend if you want an honest business or a tree that lasts more than a few days. read more

We absolutely love the tree that we got here but the experience was a bit disorganized and your experience depends on who you get matched up with to help you find a tree. They definitely hired some unqualified / untrained people due to being understaffed. When we first arrived, we were approached by a friendly and seemingly knowledgeable guy named Ryan who we really liked but he got pulled away from us and asked to help a different couple. He handed us off to John, who definitely did not know what he was doing. John wasn't sure what any of the prices were and the way he nailed the stand on to the tree made the tree crooked (not a little crooked, a lot crooked). This was definitely user error because the other guy who was putting stands on trees kept yelling at him that he was doing it wrong, and HIS trees were coming out perfectly. John tried to blame the tree for being crooked and suggested a metal stand instead (which costs $20 vs $10 for the wooden stand we had originally wanted). This fixed the problem only because the other guy helped him put it on. So we essentially bought a metal stand that we did not want due to John's ability to put a stand on properly. Prices here are $20+ more per tree than the prices at Home Depot, depending on the type and size of the tree. We paid $85 for a 6-7 foot Douglas Fir. What you get for this premium is someone to personally walk you around the lot and help you find a tree, put the stand on the tree, and tie it to your car. They don't particularly do a good job of any of these things, but they do it. I liked supporting a local business and I came here because I saw on nextdoor that they are donating 5% to my Cheremoya, my local elementary school, but I'm not sure I'll be back next year, even though I have a $20 stand that I can only re-use here (the stands are nailed directly onto the tree and are not adjustable). Note: You need to tell them at check out if you want them to make a donation, and they will record the sale in a book (I believe they have more than one school that they will donate to). 4 stars because we love our tree. read more

Found this place by a tree ranking review site that my husband sent me. Parking is challenging only about seven spots in the back. But you can find parking in the surrounding area in the meantime. We walked in they showed us around and then even opened up a couple of the wrapped trees. And once we made our selection they trim the base and put our stand on it and tied it down with zip line for extra security. For a year that is tough to find trees. This was an exceptional quality tree. The price a little steeper than I was initially expecting to pay, but not out of line with reality, but the tree is fantastic. And they helped us so much that I tipped them $40. Definitely come back again. read more

I'm honestly so bummed. The people here were so helpful and nice but my tree is already dead. I joked with the guy helping me about how I was just at Home Depot and the trees were so cheap. He told me "oh yeah, and they're going to dry out right away too". I paid over $100 for my 6ft tree and never once has it taken in any water. I immediately filled the stand when I got home and put the preservative they gave me in it but it's December 15th and my tree is dead and brittle. Never have I gotten a tree that took in not a single drop of water. This was clearly not a fresh tree and I can't believe I paid that much money for a dead tree. I should have stuck with Home Depot. Maybe the positive reviews aren't used to fresh trees but I grew up always purchasing real trees and this was such a bummer. Not good business to sell old trees for a premium price. Maybe they didn't know, and like I said, nice folks. But this was a waste of money. read more

The staff was friendly and helpful however, the prices are high-ish. I wanted to support a small business so we gave this one a try due to its proximity to our home. My daughter picked the tree... a little silver tip. These silver tips are much more expensive than the noble firs and a lot scrawnier but cute with character. We had the staff put it on the roof of the car because I was trying to keep the inside of my car clean. I should've checked the tie down job! The little tree slid off the side of the car at the second turn. I had to open my sun roof and hold on to the little fella. I purchased the base as well because the one i had at home wouldn't accommodate such a small trunk. I woke up this morning with a puddle of water at the base of the tree and the tree trough completely empty. I'm not entirely sure what to do now. The wooden x is connected to a little green plastic trough bin and the tree is somehow inside that. There is an obvious leak somewhere in this configuration. Or am i doing this wrong? read more

I planned on getting my first Christmas tree in a decade, and I wanted to spend my money locally if possible, rather than a big chain store. I visited Franklin Hills Christmas Trees this morning as it was the closest family owned place to my house. Upon walking up, I heard who I assume was the manager speaking to his representative, whose name was Thomas. The manager was profane in his language and unwelcoming. The manager greeted me first. "Hey, sanitize right there!" Ok, no problem, we're in a pandemic, totally understandable. As I walk into the tent, I was greeted by an incredibly friendly Thomas. We started talking about where the trees are from, as I have family in western Oregon and I grew up around Christmas tree farms. Thomas gave well informed answers when I asked about the different tree species. We were then interrupted by the manager. "Are you going to need a stand today?" "No, I'm good." "Thomas, what's the first question we ask them? Do they have a stand already!" My career is in commission sales. You NEVER give derogatory coachings to salesmen in front of customers. The manager treated him like a 5 year old when he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I'm taking my business elsewhere because this guy doesn't deserve a dime from me. If you must visit this place, work exclusively with Thomas. Super nice guy under the circumstances. I'm heading to Home Depot after all. read more

The trees were display-ready and trimmed with care, also much greener than the ones we saw at a large retailer. We're so glad we went with this small business instead. I came with my mom 30 min before closing time and they were super helpful and friendly. The tall gentleman, I believe his name is Eddy, was kind and explained their process of getting the trees--all the way from Oregon! He secured the tree onto the car and once we were home, taking it down was easy peasy. It's hard to choose a tree because they're all so beautiful. We went with a 6'-7' nordmann fir (I think?
